Two of the three entrees were served to the wrong individual and one had wrong side - salad was corrected but, still...
Well located and very nice decor. Food presentation was attractive but seasoning was off - salmon dish was very bland, with no flavor, but cauliflower soup was very spicy. So inconsistent in how they flavor their dishes so probably should ask before ordering.
Never disappoints. Fabulous food, service and drinks.
Curio had good, albeit unimaginative, dishes that were visually beautiful but tasted average at best. With the exception of the grit tots, none of the dishes we ordered particularly stood out as something we never had before or as something that was prepared in the best way possible. The service was average but out server did not seem to know anything about the dishes aside from what was stated on the menu. The whole experience was ok, but far from memorable.
We loved it the first time we went there a year ago. Not so much this time.
Very cute, great lunch deal catfish po boy cup of soup for $10. Burger was good.
Food was very good, but the I hate being rushed, especially when the restaurant was pretty empty.
Great food for reasonable price b
The only thing worse then the food was the service.
Food was great, however service was slow and had requested /reserved a balcony table, found out upon arrival that balcony was unavailable do to rain and not water proof. Disappointed about that however they did seat us at a table by window so not a complete disappointment b
We were in town for the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2019. I had made reservations online and had to call and adjust a few days before the day of our planned visit. The Curio was very helpful and added my 4 new people to the reservation. What about the visit? Well, the servers were amazing. They were so patient with our large party. Jessica was the best! She went above and beyond! The food was amazing! We had salmon, shrimp and grits, and appetizers. All the food was very tasty! I recommend the Curio!
The table was not clean, server was just no good in general. My boyfriend's food was cold. I think if you are just looking to have a drink somewhere it might be fine, but there are to many choices to waste your time or money here.
New Year’s Eve in the Quarter and I wait until the last minute to try to find a nice place to eat. Hurray for Curio. The food was creative and exquisite. Chef Loma stopped by the table and made sure all was well. Our starter of grit tots was a tasty change with a crispy, fried exterior and savory interior. The steak and salmon were cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Oh, and their take on the S’more was a luscious brownie covered in marshmallow that’s fired and toasted with a scoop of ice cream on the side. Nice wine list and great local beer on tap. Chef Loma a newish to Nola, so look for new menu items and updates as he brings his flair to Nola.
NYE dinner. 2 of us had a great meal and 2 of us got served a cold entree TWICE. They didn’t charge us for the cold dishes but that didn’t make up for a super disappointing experience on NYE. Good waiter but again the whole experience was kinda ruined.
Went in for New Years with friends. They had an abbreviated menu (which we knew about) but they did not allow any substitutions period, which was frustrating. The server seemed like she did not want to be there and was inattentive and rude. Food was mediocre at best. Went in a few nights before and had a great experience, very disappointing how different that night was.
Impeccable service; amazing food and a quiet place to enjoy both❤️
The food was very salty! The service was good in the beginning but the main dish took forever to come out we almost thought they forgot about us. The place was cute inside and a good location but I wouldnt recommend this place based on the how the food tasted.
This was the worst overpriced food I have had in my life
Tasty food- the NOLA Benedict was really good, ( could have been a little hotter). Great location in the quarter- we felt a little rushed after we ate though. Have been here a few times now and will definitely be back!
Although this small restaurant was obviously overwhelmed on the Christmas Day, the service was extraordinary. The food was very good and we will definitely be back.
Family Christmas Dinner
Don’t go when it’s busy. Food good but served barely warm. Had to help the server open a bottle of wine. Never did it before? Will go back another time when they’re not overwhelmed with people.
Curio was a fantastic choice for Christmas dinner. The salad and squash were not what we expected, however the entrees and desserts were outstanding. Will definitely return next time I am NOLA, which is often!
I normally do not post a bad review but this restaurant was not worth the effort. My order was wrong, and that happens. However, the server was not knowledgeable. Her response to "how is the steak?" Was- we don't get discounts so I've never had it. I ordered cucumbers on the salad, I got a side of pickles. The steak was not tasty, fries were soaked in steak juice and cold. We had to ask for a steak knife. No paper towels in the one restroom. My table had dirty rice on it when we were seated. I had to ask 2 times for coffee refill, it taking 15 minutes. I asked for salt and pepper twice, she finally- 10 min later got it from another table and said they didn't have enough. Then we had to share it with another table before being done. The creme brulee was very creamy and tasty, but ruined when they burnt the sugar coating. I told my server and she offered no solution. We spoke to the GM, asking for the steak knife, and he didn't so much as say hello to us, Merry Christmas, or how was your meal. It was a terrible Christmas experience and not worth it. You're better off going to get a 10 dollar poboy. The assistant manager was friendly. The hostess was friendly. The gumbo was good and the redfish was tasty.
We went for Xmas —sat outside on the balcony the view of royal street is fabulous so was the food and the drinks def was our best cmas lunch out ever
The Curio breakfast was perfect and a great price. We kept raving about the flavor of the bacon and the cheese grits. Service was great and very professional. All of the staff had smiles and I saw managers jumping in to help when it got busier. My only complaint is that they scrimp on the alcohol. A Sazarac is literally 1/2 the size of what you’d get anywhere else and my Bloody Mary tasted like a virgin. I would go back for breakfast again but pass on purchasing cocktails. Great location and the bathrooms are clean and nicely done.
We had Christmas brunch here today. Great service, excellent food and beautiful view. Jerome was a wonderful server and the hostess was a blast. Jerome gave good advice on food choices and favorites. Can't wait to come back for dinner.
Perfect breakfast! Very cute place, nice staff. Very clean!!
Beingets are a great starter
Loved the duck gumbo- went back the next morning and had it for breakfast!
Manager named Jacqueline oblivious to a drunken man who was so loud it even bothered our ineffectual waiter. Seared tuna which is supposed to be rare was white and dried out. We had to leave the place. Very unpleasant atmosphere. Jacqueline then comped our drinks which we offered to pay for and left. Horrible Xmas eve experience.
Curio got it right! Accommodated extensive food allergies and made it taste delicious. We will go back. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and recommend.
Very noisy. Also had TV's in main dinning room. Could have done without them. Our waitress-Raven-was outstanding.
We sat on balcony overlooking the street. A little cold but ok with heaters on. Duck soup was amazing! Caesar salad fair and entrees were just fair also. I had salmon and husband had red fish. Not noteworthy. Server was very nice
Had a wonderful Christmas eve meal. Food and service were wknderful.
The food and beverages here are the finest I have had in New Orleans French Quarter this year.
I hope that Curio stays and never moves!!
I love Curio and I hope many more people will begin enjoying Curio whenever they can!
We made our reservation on Open Table but were seated in the bar area. I asked if they had a restaurant area and they said yes, but we would need to make a reservation and specify that we wanted to order DINNER!?!? Since we were in a bar, we just ordered appetizers. Duck and black eyed peas gumbo and blue crab claws. Both were wonderful. Half way through they then offered to let us sit in the dining room. Menu looked great but I would hesitate to make a reservation here again.
Nothing special. So many other better choices in the city with more attentive service and better tasting food for the price.
