Kitchen lost our ticket. So we waited one hour for our food after appetizers but manager took care of us in the end. We were about to walk out without eating.
Very disappointed... Have heard many good things about Curio so decided to give it a try for Restaurant Week/Coolinary. My friend ordered the Crispy Fried Gulf Fish (per menu - tomato jalapeno relish) and I ordered the grilled boneless pork chop. The appetizers were nothing great and when the entree's came out the fish had what appeared to be like a red sauce (not even close to a relish) atop of the fish. The menu said "jalapeno relish" not covered in red sauce. We ended up switching because my friend could not eat the red sauce with the fish. The taste of jalapeno's was not present. We sat out on the balcony which by the way was a beautiful view, the balcony wasn't full by any means but we were not the only ones sitting on the balcony. The service was HORRIBLE, we had to wait to order, for our drinks, our food, our plates to be picked up and again for our bill. I noticed today that neither of these dishes are part of their regular menu which says a lot. Restaurant Week/Coolinary is a time (at least for me) to try new places during the slow summer months. If you are going to serve something that isn't even on your regular menu it should be over the top great and this meal was NOT a good meal whatsoever. Again, very disappointed, but the view was great...
Amazing place! Will definitely be back
great place! love going here!! probably visit a few times a month and this was the first time that i actually had to ask them to fix my dish. This is a great restaurant, they just messed up this one. They also took my entire meal off the bill which i did not ask for, it just shows that they care about their customers and what they think.
Excellent!!!!! Food was unbelievable... drinks amazing...service was great. Would highly recommend
Food was very good and service was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to have a fancier meal in the French Quarter
Service was spectacular from the hostess to the one bussing the table. The most delicious crab meat watermelon gazpacho. I could’ve eaten all of it. All. Of. It. Great Caesar and charcuterie board. They also made me a fresh mocktail- try their fourth ward with or without alcohol and you’ll be satisfied in the heat. We’d def go back.
The food was just "okay", not great but not terrible. We waited 35 minutes for our dessert though, not sure why...? And when our waitress, Ashley, brought it to the table she said, "here it is but you don't have to eat it."
It would have been much more pleasant but there happened to be a large party of women by us who were extremely loud the entire time. The restaurant itself was lovely, and the food was excellent. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive as well.
Cool atmosphere, ducked in for lunch to avoid the rain. Has patio seating available upstairs. Jambalaya was delicious. Would have stayed longer for another cocktail but the AC was SO cold it was unbearable. Bring a sweater and you’ll be fine :)
A hip little spot in French Quarter. We dined upstairs on the porch overlooking street side activity. Great food, ambiance. Had breakfast as well. Fantastic! Will be back in October !
Server was inexperienced
They didn't have a record of my reservation
It was very lovely. I just wish had more lunch options on Saturday brunch menu. Everything was tasty! Highly recommend crab claws!!
Overall ok food and clean venue, but service was really bad. The waitress didn't know what was not available on the venue until after she put the order in. She did not take full drink orders and assume them for us. She kept on interrupting our order to do other things. We asked for butter and she brought it to another table. Terrible experience.
The balcony seating alone is worth five stars. Dined here on a Wednesday night with a friend so we had the balcony to ourselves. Even caught a second line rolling through the Quarter (gotta love NOLA for a random second line). We took advantage of the Coolinary menu. My fried Brussel Sprouts were AMAZING. I asked to have my fish blackened instead of fried and it was equally delicious. The disappointment was the monkey bread dessert. It wasn't warm and was too hard to eat. All in all, a great ambiance, service was good, app and entree were good. A little bit more careful should be taken with the dessert though.
Fried grits & cheese balls were tasteless; duck dish had like 1lb of tasteless pasta, dry tasteless roasted duck & andouille. A friend had told me she found it bland but I wanted to give it a shot as I trust my yelpers on 4+ star restaurants - not this one, sorry!
*staff was really nice though!
Curio was an amazing place for a girlfriend lunch!! The food was spectacular and the service on point!! Get the Kale and Shrimp salad and the Salmon entree!! Yum!! Love it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food way to oily could not eat it
The food was very good. The service was excellent.
Food and service were great. Would definitely recommend
Mussels are amazing!!
Food was on point 100%
Just had a quick bite before going to the theater, food was amazing, bottle of cava was great and the service was awesome!! Definitely return, thanks!
A surprisingly good/great breakfast. Likely the first time in years I've had very well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and hot breakfast potatoes - they were outstanding. And, the waitperson fashioned some well-toasted French bread that wasn't really on the menu (thank you). The over-medium eggs and chicken sausage were standard, but those potatoes are worth a second and third visit. My first companion had the shrimp and grits and judged the dish as excellent (the shrimp was not overcooked); and my second companion had the biscuits/bacon/gravy and (with all the carbs and fat) judged the dish, along with the salad, as good/great. Service by Ashley was outstanding. She was friendly, accommodating, helpful, and pleasant.
Curio was amazing! The service was on point and the food was delectable! We had grit tots and charcuterie to start (wonderful!), then I had the pan roasted gulf fish (drum), Kev and Marty had the blackened redfish, and my friend Jen had the short ribs in grits. My fish was up there with some of the food I’ve had in France—where you just want to sit quietly and chew slowly. None of us left any food on our plates. Jen and Kev had “coffee and donuts” for dessert which turned out to be espresso creme brûlée with beignets and I had tres leches bread pudding which was actually light and fluffy and not too sweet (ie perfect!). Marty’s not a big dessert guy, so he finished his Pims Cup—refreshing and healthy since it has fruit in it ;) —while we inhaled our desserts. Kevin and I washed it all down with 3-4 Abita Ambers and Jen stuck to a crisp Pinot Gris. All of the flavors and textures of each dish were very balanced, effortless, and straightforward. No criticisms, no complaints, just a beautiful meal with friends in a beautiful city in a wonderful restaurant.
Mussels were off, crunchy grits and duck and macaroni was bland. Blackened ribeye was delicious. Dessert was to die for.
Good cocktails! Went for lunch and then happy hour the next day. The turkey Ruben was very good. The shrimp sandwich was a little too much bread but it was tasty. Very good service - the bartenders were super helpful and friendly.
The food was great- the grit tots and duck/black eyed pea gumbo are must haves. Great range of options without being a huge menu. Service was fantastic and had a table by an open window looking into the French Quarter. All around nice dinner spot.
Although the food was OK the short rib that I ordered was very dry and appeared to be a piece of chuck roast... It did not have the same appearance as a typical short rib BUT the flavor was really good. Grits under rib were barely warm. Tots didn't have any salt or flavor to them. Cheese board OK. Overall an average experience. My friend ordered the gulf fish and it was overcooked. Waitress very nice and enthusiastic. $130.00 for two people (and only 1 cocktail) for a casual dinner it wasn't worth it.
I've been wanting to try Curio ever since I tasted the candied fried pork ribs at Bourbon Boudin & Beer. Had to order them and again they were delicious. 4 of us also enjoyed the grit tots and shrimp boulettes as appetizers. My entree was the roast duck cavatappi, delicious. We ate inside because it was too hot outside but want to go back when the weather is cooler and sit on the 2nd floor balcony. Great spot at the corner of Royal and Bienville.
The charcuterie board was very skimpy and made us wish we’d ordered additional appetizers. Entrees portions were about right. I had the Gulf fish (which was sheepshead the night we dined) and it was excellent! My companions had the salmon and the ribeye and both enjoyed those dishes as well.
Kudos to the bartender for my mocktail of cucumber, mint, raspberry, lemon & soda! So refreshing! The food was very good! We had crab claws, candied ribs, & meat/cheese board for appetizers. For entrees - burger, salmon, & biscuits & gravy. We were sorry to learn that Curio was out of mussels and steak & eggs - two dishes we wanted to order. I guess we’ll just have to go back! Everything was very tasty although I thought the meat/cheese board was a little skimpy compared to others we have had. Our server was wonderful - very attentive & professional. I look forward to trying Curio for dinner in the future.
Food came out horribly slow. But tasted good when it did come out. And they ran out of burger buns during brunch!
The server was very nice right at the start, but then we didn't see him for some time. Food was ok. Tots were great, but the glazed ribs lacked flavor. I had a glass of wine and my guy had a Moscow mule. Mule was great, wine was average.
Get balcony seating for brunch by 10 am (shaded in the morning), otherwise it fills up and is crowded and loud inside. Rib app is the best.
Best place ever! Would recommend to everyone. Our server was also out of this world great! A must try... the spare rib!
Cocktails were good. Dessert was solid. Entrees and appetizers were fair. Not my favorite place in the city, but it’s not a bad stop for a drink and a snack.
We sat in the gallery on a nice evening. It was quiet and relaxing. They missed bringing us out appetizer. The main entrees were good and filling. Servers were pleasant.
