All the appetizers are awesome, especially the grits that look like rather tots, and the pecan-crusted fish was delicious too. Really fun dessert—brownie and marshmallow s’more. Would be a fun place for a family if you brought well-behaved kids used to decent restaurant behavior. But great for couples as well. Upscale enough, but not stuffy. Loved it.
Sent redfish back twice for being cold, returned on a scolding hot plate but same cold food both times. Son's burger was over cooked and served with no condiments other than ketchup. Was a birthday dinner for my pregnant girlfriend, we were all severely disappointed. Spend your money elsewhere.
The food and atmosphere were great, but our service was severely lacking. Tables around us appeared to be getting great service though, so I think our particular waiter was having an off-day. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot based on the quality of the food and its location!
Had seen good reviews so was a little disappointed in the food and service. Not bad. Just average. Lots of better places for brunch.
From what I read, they would be gluten free-friendly but I found the complete opposite.
We sat outside and the street noise is very noisy. Also food very bland. Really nothing special to say about it.
Amazing food. Great service and great drinks. Portions a little small but still great food
This place is Ok, but there are so many other notable places in the Quarter.
The vegetable yellow curry was fantastic - rich depths of flavor were accented perfectly by just the right level of spicy heat.
The fruit cobbler was meh - too dense, a bit dry, and not nearly enough fruit.
We attended for lunch. They seated us upstairs on the balcony at our request. It is in a great location on the corner of Bienville and Royal. The lunch we had was superb. I had a shrimp greek salad and my husband had a fried shrimp po-boy. Both meals were fantastic and full of flavor.
We had brunch last Sunday and everything was very good. The pulled pork benidect was excellent as well as the Creme brûlée.
They have tables on the baloncy that give you an awesome view of the street below.
We highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back.
Appetizers were great. Ribs and Grit tots. Entree sandwiches were fair. Burger not cooked to specifications. Fries were slightly over cooked. Shrimp Ruben had great flavor but not that of a Ruben and very small .
Host at door was excellent.
Manager was visible and nice.
Server just did a fair/ok job.
We were celebrating a very very special occasion that was important to us and this was our 1st time at Curio. Should have chose another of the many restaurants in the area. Would Maybe go back but Not in a rush to get back.
Do not miss this neighborhood gem, a must!
On my return visit to New Orleans I had to take my friend to Curio. It was as good as I remember. She had the salmon and I had the gulf fish. Both were good choices. The food was creative New Orleans style. The sights and sounds from our table on the gallery is always a great people watching location. I will return on my next visit!
The service here is so consistently terrible we have made today our last visit. The food quality has sadly declined since our first visit. We are locals, and there are too many good restaurants in Nola to patronize this one. Will leave it for the tourists.
Pretty good. Liked the raw seafood carpaccio & I had a curry dish that I added shrimp to. Those were very good but friends had fish that was overdone. Service very accomadating.
The restuarant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but the website only stated hours for lunch. We arrived at 4:30 pm and found out the upstairs and dinner is not until after 5. We had a drink downstairs waiting until 5 to finally eat dinner.
The wait was worth it as the meal blackened redfish with excellent wine was delicious. We would definitely recommend this place but remember if you want dinner make reservations for after 5.
We had the best waitress, extremely attentive and knowledgeable. My fried oysters were perfect, nicely seasoned and crispy. The pasta was cold, however. I would have sent it back but we were on a time crunch. The ambiance and service were fantastic!
Slow service. Food was really talked up and very underwhelming. Charged $3 for tea that was only refilled once throughout our entire slow 2 hour dining process. I had to legit drink my friends drink because I was so parched. Our used dishes stayed on the table, so busing isn’t a real priority there. We are residents here and would never speak ill of any establishment, but this is sadly the truth of our experience. Won’t be back.
Cute place, and great service for a party of 15. Appetizers were delicious. My short rib was over cooked and the risotto was cold, otherwise would have given 5. Most of our party raved and my husbands burger was great.
Very delicious dinner at French Quarter, LA.
Cocktails were great, service was great. Food was ok, our fish and crab cakes were over the top salty. There was also a mouse, but it's NOLA, so I don't think you can really hold that against anyone :D
Kitchen lost our ticket. So we waited one hour for our food after appetizers but manager took care of us in the end. We were about to walk out without eating.
Very disappointed... Have heard many good things about Curio so decided to give it a try for Restaurant Week/Coolinary. My friend ordered the Crispy Fried Gulf Fish (per menu - tomato jalapeno relish) and I ordered the grilled boneless pork chop. The appetizers were nothing great and when the entree's came out the fish had what appeared to be like a red sauce (not even close to a relish) atop of the fish. The menu said "jalapeno relish" not covered in red sauce. We ended up switching because my friend could not eat the red sauce with the fish. The taste of jalapeno's was not present. We sat out on the balcony which by the way was a beautiful view, the balcony wasn't full by any means but we were not the only ones sitting on the balcony. The service was HORRIBLE, we had to wait to order, for our drinks, our food, our plates to be picked up and again for our bill. I noticed today that neither of these dishes are part of their regular menu which says a lot. Restaurant Week/Coolinary is a time (at least for me) to try new places during the slow summer months. If you are going to serve something that isn't even on your regular menu it should be over the top great and this meal was NOT a good meal whatsoever. Again, very disappointed, but the view was great...
Amazing place! Will definitely be back
great place! love going here!! probably visit a few times a month and this was the first time that i actually had to ask them to fix my dish. This is a great restaurant, they just messed up this one. They also took my entire meal off the bill which i did not ask for, it just shows that they care about their customers and what they think.
Excellent!!!!! Food was unbelievable... drinks amazing...service was great. Would highly recommend
Food was very good and service was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to have a fancier meal in the French Quarter
Service was spectacular from the hostess to the one bussing the table. The most delicious crab meat watermelon gazpacho. I could’ve eaten all of it. All. Of. It. Great Caesar and charcuterie board. They also made me a fresh mocktail- try their fourth ward with or without alcohol and you’ll be satisfied in the heat. We’d def go back.
The food was just "okay", not great but not terrible. We waited 35 minutes for our dessert though, not sure why...? And when our waitress, Ashley, brought it to the table she said, "here it is but you don't have to eat it."
It would have been much more pleasant but there happened to be a large party of women by us who were extremely loud the entire time. The restaurant itself was lovely, and the food was excellent. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive as well.
Cool atmosphere, ducked in for lunch to avoid the rain. Has patio seating available upstairs. Jambalaya was delicious. Would have stayed longer for another cocktail but the AC was SO cold it was unbearable. Bring a sweater and you’ll be fine :)
A hip little spot in French Quarter. We dined upstairs on the porch overlooking street side activity. Great food, ambiance. Had breakfast as well. Fantastic! Will be back in October !
Server was inexperienced
They didn't have a record of my reservation
It was very lovely. I just wish had more lunch options on Saturday brunch menu. Everything was tasty! Highly recommend crab claws!!
Overall ok food and clean venue, but service was really bad. The waitress didn't know what was not available on the venue until after she put the order in. She did not take full drink orders and assume them for us. She kept on interrupting our order to do other things. We asked for butter and she brought it to another table. Terrible experience.
The balcony seating alone is worth five stars. Dined here on a Wednesday night with a friend so we had the balcony to ourselves. Even caught a second line rolling through the Quarter (gotta love NOLA for a random second line). We took advantage of the Coolinary menu. My fried Brussel Sprouts were AMAZING. I asked to have my fish blackened instead of fried and it was equally delicious. The disappointment was the monkey bread dessert. It wasn't warm and was too hard to eat. All in all, a great ambiance, service was good, app and entree were good. A little bit more careful should be taken with the dessert though.
Fried grits & cheese balls were tasteless; duck dish had like 1lb of tasteless pasta, dry tasteless roasted duck & andouille. A friend had told me she found it bland but I wanted to give it a shot as I trust my yelpers on 4+ star restaurants - not this one, sorry!
*staff was really nice though!
Curio was an amazing place for a girlfriend lunch!! The food was spectacular and the service on point!! Get the Kale and Shrimp salad and the Salmon entree!! Yum!! Love it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food way to oily could not eat it
