Great outdoor balcony and service was outstanding. Their breakfast special was yummy!!
Amazing food and Staff!
This place was amazing! It was right around the corner from our Airbnb and we made a last minute reservation. The food was the best we have had our whole trip. (Struggle to find stuff with 3 picky eaters - one of which is a vegetarian). We chose to sit outside so it was a little noisy because of the people on the streets but it was awesome to see some second line parades go by. We ended up having dessert inside and the noise was perfect. Our service was great, everyone who worked there said hello when we came in and have a good night when we left. Food was timely and delicious, lemon curd ice cream and bread pudding were incredible. Will definitely come back on our next trip.
We ordered a “short rib appetizer”- even though they were long ribs rather than short with little meat the taste was very good. The sauce was spicy!! Was told you cannot get the sauce without spicy.
Entree was the same- gulf fish with garlic rice and greens with a delicious sauce. If it had been even warm it would have been excellent, however, it was cold. Too bad because the taste was there.
Do not care for seating where you are so close you can hear others conversations clearly. Love the floor and the wall decor. Will go back for happy hour small plates.
First time here. Was able to easily find a reservation on a Friday night around 9PM. Waiter was great - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about menu and wine. Food was excellent - fresh, creative, and served timely. We had a chicken dish with mushrooms and awesome roasted potatoes, and grilled red fish with spices and sweet potatoes. The doughnuts and coffee cream brûlée was to die for. We recommend without hesitation and hope to be back.
This places was just fine, but not spectacular. I had the shrimp, um, I can't remember what they're called but I think it was just another word for beingnets. They were mostly fried dough. I also had the soup. I wasn't very hungry. I was kind of disappointed though that they soup wasn't a local flavor like a crab bisque or a gumbo. It was nice of them to let me sit at a table since I was dining solo. My server was very nice. I was tempted to get dessert but was honestly too tired and just wanted to go home. Good location and they have balcony seating which I would ask for. It's kind of weird to sit next to the window and have all these people walking by watching you eat. If you want a decent dinner with nice atmosphere, stay off bourbon street and come here. Four stars because while it was good, it just didn't knock my socks off.
Crowded and noisy but fun. Delicious meals with reasonable portions.
food was very good. staff was attentive to our needs and were very prompt. they made our dining experience memorable. I will definitely return the next time we visit the French Quarter
Somewhat limited menu, food was good but not extraordinary. Loved the place, decor, etc and servers were very good. Cocktails were good. We were there for brunch so it was not horribly busy and not loud. It was too chilly to sit outside but would definitely prefer that seating.
Excellent food. A bit loud. Downstairs is busier than upstairs.
Loved it! The mussels and the carpaccio were out of this world! Great service, beautiful balcony.
My husband and I had walked by several times past this new restaurant. We visit New Orleans every year, as my husband is a Tulane graduate. We noticed this was a new restaurant in the quarter. It was French Quarter Festival and knew one should make a reservation if you wanted to do any fine dining. We were a party of 5 and were seated upstair on the balcony outside which was a delight. The food was excellent and would return even though we had to wait forever for our server and for the food. However, given the restaurant has only been open for 6 months, they were slammed and we were in great company so I would return again,
Loved it. Waiter was knowledgeable about celiac disease and great with all 14 diners!
Great service! Everyone was very friendly and personable. Food was amazing. The noise (sirens) leaked from outside sometimes, but it’s the French Quarter, so it’s expected.
Wonderful! The ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the lamb shanK was flavorful and tender. The cafe au Lait Crème brûlée was divine. Our waiter Christina was attentive and knowledgeable. The manager Oscar stopped by a few times to make sure we were satisfied and well cared for. Well worth a try!! Cocktails were great too!!
First visit and really enjoyed the vibe and cocktails! Wonderful staff/service but downside was most of the apps were fried, which was disappointing. Will be back to try full menu!
Came here with a co-worker while we were in town for a conference and was looking for a place that serves cajun/creole dishes while also having something vegetarian for me - this was perfect.
The vegetarian curry was delicious. It has an Indian masala flavor with peanuts, chick peas, and various other vegetables in a creamy tumeric sauce. The service was prompt and friendly. I'll definitely keep Curio on my list for the next time I'm in NOLA.
Awesome service and awesome food. Outdoor seating is recommended.
Great place to eat. It was fun to eat upstairs on the gallery. Waitress was very nice, helpful and courteous. Food was delicious!
Very nice food ribs were outstanding and our server Christy was amazing!!! Will do it again.
Very disappointing experience. Food took forever and when we finally did get served, the food was not good at all. The table next to ours complained about the service as well. Maybe it was a a bad day, but I certainly won't be back.
Great spot- had brunch outside on the wrap around balcony deck, and the flowers and ambiance were relaxing. Waitress was very attentive with refreshing drinks. The grit tots were a delicious starter and the dipping sauce was unique and a perfect compliment. We chose Curio because it’s hard to find vegetarian options in classic Creole fair, but hey had several choices. The Shaksuka tasted amazing; more tomato than spinach but unique flavor to the dish. The baked, carmelized French toast was so sweet. The first time it came out it was overcooked but the manager came by and noticed and immediately took it, replaced the dish, and offered us an additional appetizer to apologize. Service was slow and food took almost an hour to be served, but the appetizer held us over and the view of the city made for a wonderful morning! Make a reservation if you want to guarantee outdoor seating.
The service was terrible. The kitchen would not accommodate a dietary concern for a member of the party. A special birthday dessert for one of the guests was never delivered. The management on hand seems unconcerned about the difficulties our party of 16 was having. Imagine how little they must care about their customers in general?
Excellent menu, but food was cold and service poor. The upstairs room is VERY loud, so stay in the bar or dine on the terrace.
Arrived after seeing matinee performance of “Phantom of the Opera” and were seated upstairs. Our waitress was very accommodating, as we had two children with us. We enjoyed our drinks and dining experience but wish we had known about outside dining since the weather was so beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our late afternoon dinner.
Poor food and service. Restaurant doesn't serve lunch on the weekend when though it's advertised.
Very enjoyable meal on the balcony overlooking activities below in the French Quarter
This is one of several New Orleans restaurants we visited on a recent trip and turned out to be one of our favorites. Great service, atmosphere and food. Comfortable bar dining, good people watching from tables on the first floor and the upstairs balcony seating. The Chicken Clemenceau was perfect!
Venue was nice. Menu fine but not well executed. Entree's were good but the appetizers and dessert were lacking. The "jalapeno gremolata" on the tuna/scallop carpaccio (which wasn't bad) was the same as the "chili's" with the crab claws. The crab claws, however, were totally flavorless. Could have been straight from the fish counter at Rouses. The bread pudding was far too dense. Service was terrible. 10 minutes after seating until we saw a server. Somewhere along the way they missed service 101. The table was never cleared prior to the next course. She would bring the course then ask us to hand her the dirty plates where she would stack and then take them away. We also ordered refills of wine and only one was brought. Not a big deal in and of itself but there was no urgency in brining the missed order. Took about 10 minutes. We won't go back.
Fabulous food. The beef short ribs are a must! Excellent craft cocktails. Outdoor seating on the balcony has a great view of Royal Street. Curio is great place for a drink, but the food is really terrific as well. I have been there for lunch, dinner and cocktails now and although the service was very slow when I went for lunch, the burger was tasty and thankfully I wasn't in a hurry. I will definitely put it on my list of places to frequent in the French Quarter.
good authentic New Orleans food in the French Quarter, very attentive staff, well worth visiting
The service was very good. Was disappointed that the signature dessert, the king cake, was not being served for Sunday brunch. Both dishes I ordered seemed to be overly loaded with pepper seasoning.
So good! Great balcony.
The drink service was very slow (we were told that the bar was "slammed") and one of us had to wait several minutes to be served after the others in our party had their drinks (which was unfortunate because we couldn't properly toast our birthday girl). Otherwise the food was great and the service was friendly and responsive.
We dined on the outdoor balcony. It was beautiful. I wish the menu had more variety.
- the charming balcony
- the s’mores dessert
- inattentive waitress
- lighting outside..couldn’t see the menu
- width of the table, I couldn’t hear my boyfriend
- the mussels were a little too sweet, tomato soup and cavatappi entree nothing to write home about
It happened to be a parade evening. Much energy. Second story balcony table is wonderful. Short ribs, sushi grade tuna and mussels all were terrific. Great table service. Easy to make a reservation. Excellent alternative to the “name” restaurants in the quarter.
Local visiting for the first time and very impressed, the oyster po-boy BLT was properly seasoned and delicious, only complaint it was not hot. My friend enjoyed the chicken cuban sandwich and it was terrific too, the side salad had a lovely dressing and the fries were hot and yummy. Unfortunately we did not have time for the pound cake which sounded amazing, service was great and the balcony boasts a lovely view. We 3 are returning and brining friends as we will be living nearby later this year.
Our brunch experience was phenomenal. We sat out on the balcony and had a wonderful meal with bottomless mimosas. Our waitress made the experience top notch with great suggestions and a friendly demeanor. We couldn’t have had a better time. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to sit outside on a nice day. Try the veggie Focaccia!
