In the late 1800’s, Royal Street was home to a famous “curio” shop, a place where curiosities from all over the world could be had for a dollar or two. Today, the shop is no more, but the feeling of excitement and wonder still exists on Royal Street today. Food is very subpar here. You definitely pay for the view from the balcony (if that’s where you’re sitting), if you’re from out of town that can be an exciting experience to eat on a classic Nola balcony. Other than that aspect, the restaurant inside is tacky and catered to tourists. The entrees are likened to bar food at a $20-30 price point. Service is good but if you’re looking for quality food/experience - steer clear.

Our server was very nice but we waited for over 30 minutes for our drinks. Once we got them, they were watered down from the ice melting. Our appetizers came and were eaten before then.

My server was Edwin and he was very friendly, kind ,and professional! The COOLinary experience came with fried green tomatoes ,crawfish pasta , and bourbon donuts and it was all phenomenal! I also got The strawberry lemon drop which was delicious.a great experience for the price !

We ordered the crab cakes, salmon and shrimp, and shrimp jambalaya and everything was so over salted. We sent 2 of the 3 meals back and when they redid the shrimp but they were still too salty to eat. We never send meals back because they are too salty. This is the first bad meal we have had in New Orleans.

If you are looking for local food, this is perfect ! service was great. Our server was really nice . A little noisy inside.we were planning to eat on the balcony, but it was too hot. They should have mist outside.right price for what you get !

Our server BJ was amazing, very nice and personable and great service. The table is a little small for a 6 top, would have liked more room. The kitchen timing was off. Half of our table was served and the other half waited at least 20 minutes before the food came out. But management was very quick to correct it and it was reflected in the bill, definitely appreciate that. And the drinks Could have been stronger. The grit tots are outstanding, the fried alligator was crispy, juicy and had a great flavor. The grilled shrimp and fried green tomatoes was excellent, a little heavy on the remoulade for me but it meshed well. Red beans and rice were tasty and a little sweet in a good way. All in all, it was a lovely restaurant and I would go back.

Fresh, tasty, and fun. Seeing tourists (like us) and locals enjoying great food and drinks is the hallmark of a great restaurant. We have eaten at all of the "great" NOLA restaurants over the years BUT Curio is a Gem in the Royal Crown. The Crab Cakes were fantastic (never knew crispy capers were so good) and the Fried Green Tomatoes were nicely prepared. Next time, I will make reservations for Sunday brunch so I can stagger back to my hotel after Bottomless Bloody Mary's. See ya'll there next time.

It was fine… our overall take away was “fine”. We enjoyed our hurricane and fried fish/shrimp platter. The caprese sandwich was a bit lacking for the cost. Overall, it was fine and I’d eat here again if I had to, but I would prefer other similar local restaurants if I had the choice.

This place was better than expected. Went for something in the quarter as we were seeing music and it was a Monday in the summer so not so many choices. However, we were pleasantly surprised. There was a large group upstairs and we thought it might delay our meal but it didn't and the food was great, as was our server. The one negative was that the bartender disappeared and our drinks took longer than they should have but the server was really nice. Also, they should get better lighting. Perhaps it's because of where it is but it felt like daytime cafeteria lighting. I will definitely go back.

Elijah was a great server, super friendly and made great conversation with us. He recommended the passion fruit margaritas which were delicious. He also recommended the salmon & shrimp plate with jambalaya and it was so flavorful and delicious I couldn’t get enough! The veggies were perfect and each bite was better than the last. Would 100% recommend if you are visiting the French Quarter!

Skip this place. The New York sour was undrinkable (zero balance, might’ve only been like juice) and made wrong (the red wine was mixed in, not floated). Service was poor and erratic. Both sandwiches came without sauce - but the waiter didn’t come back for >15 min so we just ate it and left.

The only awful dining experience we had in Nola. Stay far away! From the nasty hostess who didn’t acknowledge us but spoke to the couple behind us. Then proceeded to tell us there were no reservations for 45 minutes ( while I made a reservation on the app for 15 min later). Our server was very inexperienced and slow. Food order came out wrong twice. The couple sitting next to us got up and left after sitting for 20 minutes. The only upside was getting to watch a street parade from our balcony table and my husband’s hurricane. Our bill was the same at Muriel’s and both the food and service was outstanding there!

Our service was the best service we had in NOLA. We had dined at several places (including Brennan’s) and this was the best service hands down. We sat on the balcony upstairs and it was perfect. I wish I could remember our servers name bc he was phenomenal! I had the Louisiana Sampler and the gumbo, etouffee, and jambalaya were all incredible. My daughter had the burger which was also good and we split the crab cakes which were tasty! Go! It is awesome.

The food was good but not spectacular. Our server offered good suggestions but was otherwise inattentive. Our biggest complaint was that the “greeters” were disinterested at best. Even with a reservation, they had no idea where to seat us. I had to suggest a table that had just been cleared.

Party of two on a Sunday afternoon. One of us got the jambalaya, the other got the shrimp pasta. Both were delicious. The jambalaya was different than what I had had at other places, with a bit of a tang that I really liked. The shrimp creole pasta with the cream sauce was mild enough for my wife who was needing a break from the spicy. Overall, we enjoyed our food. What really stood out was the service. They were very attentive, very friendly and made us feel very welcome. While not one of the fine dining establishments, it was very good and well worth the visit. I would do it again if in the area
