The food was delicious and the service excellent. Nice ambience and overall great dining experience. The lamb dumplings and tuna cigars are amazing. Definitely want to go back soon
Made reservations but was snubbed out and told restaurant was closed!!! Was going for dinner on my honeymoon. So dissapponting. The owner should know how staff treats patrons. Horrible!!!
Very frustrated , They changed the recipe on their garlic noodles which is their signature dish ...the noodles are soft and gummy ..after I asked for a new batch hoping they would get it right ... I received the same thing overcooked noodles . This happened months before as well and should be consistent . The one in San Francisco is much better and the noodles there are perfect.
The crab and everything else were great... but I will not be coming there again for a while ... I love this restaurant but if they can’t get the noodles right for the money they charge... what’s the point?
Most of the dinner was very enjoyable but there was a large, rowdy party that came towards the end of our dinner. They were rambunctious and it was a bit bothersome when we were trying to enjoy a Valentine’s Day dinner!
Unhappy how the host greeted us. He didn’t see my reservation. I showed him my phone. Then he rudely said you didn’t confirm, which I had confined. Again he asked to see my phone. He went inside and let us in. The bad part is that the restaurant wasn’t at nearly capacity nor would I say busy.
Amazing food. The service was exceptional. I will be back.
My wife and I had an anniversary celebration at Crustacean. Everything from food to service was superb. A wonderful dining experience.
The restaurant was fabulous. I thought my shaking chicken was a little dry and that's about it. the appetizers were amazing and the presentation was stunning! I'd go back again.
Very expensive, but superb. The mâitre, was great. The drinks, wow
The food as usual was great. First time at the new configuration. The entrance was actually a bit confusing at first mainly I think because of the doors, which didn't seem too inviting to me an had extremely small handles to open the doors with. The service was good. The biggest disappointment was that we were seated in a room adjacent to the outdoor seating, which had a slider wide open and there was an annoying cold draft. It really detracted from the dining experience. The $50 corkage fee seemed a bit excessive and was a bit of a bummer.
It was a Thursday nite, It was crowded and noisy, the decor was very nice. We had the tasting menu. Food and presentation were good, but I expected more. The tuna cigar presentation and flavor were excellent But the rest was a little above average. The garlic noodles were excellent but no presentation, just a spoonful of noodles in a bowl. Service was average for a place of this point value. I don't need to go back.
Great food, Great Service, terrible bench seats for eating dinner. Where there are bench seats the benches are very uncomfortable.
Eat. It. All
The woman at the front desk was unfriendly and not welcoming at all.
Food was amazing!
There was a reason I haven’t come back to this restaurant in the last 15 years - food was underwhelming- their “famous” garlic noodles were totally nothing special, cauliflower rice dish was flavorless, white fish was meh- soggy & not much flavor. Vegetable spring rolls were quite tasty! Post remodel decor, surprisingly, felt “outdated” - the ceiling in the area where they put up another restaurant upstairs looked like it was in the midst of being done. The fake flower wall... 👎🏼
Beautiful restaurant, great service, outstanding food. We did Dine LA we had to ask for that menu did not offer. Outstanding ladies’ room. Best private bathroom in a restaurant
Honestly I was not impressed by this food at all, when I got my meal it was extremely cold, not with the 240 dollars I paid. I was expecting the crab to be so good after the server forced me to go with the crab and garlic noodles instead of the orange chicken I initially wanted, but I’m taking this as a learning experience.
Although we arrived on time, it took a while to seat us because of guests lingering at their table but that's quite alright as we could not help but linger after our own delicious meal. Our party of 4 went for the Dine LA menu, a seven course extravaganza that started with a tuna cigar (roll) beautifully presented in a smoke filled cigar box. The meal ended with a pineapple financier for dessert. In between was a variety of delicious courses including amazing vegetarian egg rolls, duck dumplings in a ponzu sauce topped with a crisp, the famous garlic noodles and an 8 oz. ribeye cooked to perfection. My least favorite dish was the karate salad featuring kohlrabi and crispy potatoes.
It has been a long while since I've been to Crustacean and the restaurant has changed dramatically in appearance. The service and quality of the food, however, are as outstanding as ever.
It was a very memorable meal that we all enjoyed.
Best dining experience, food was amazing—presentation and taste. I greatly enjoyed and will be back soon
Fabulous dinner —everything was awesome from dim sum to sushi to ribeye steak to lobster over garlic noodles... housemade ice cream made tableside was a wonderful conclusion. And wine list was to die for — a 2007 Schrader cabernet was irresistible and lived up to its billing... wait staff was fantastic — super knowledgable and helpful as well as friendly! Could not have been a better experience!
I've been coming here for years. Food is consistently awesome. Had the dinela menu just to try something different. I found the portions extremely small. The dessert was tasty but it was half of an egg bite size disc.
We tried the DineLA menu and had a great experience. The Tuna Cigar was a fun way to start our meal. It’s worth visiting just to see the aquarium in the floor.
I went Friday for DineLA. They gave me the DineLA lunch menu. About 15 minutes after taking my order they told me they had given me the wrong
DineLA lunch menu...what? So I began looking at the second menu. I then decided I would order from the regular menu . As I was waiting for the server to come back my first choice was served . I sald oh I was just going to order from the regular menu. Then
miraculously the server appeared and said, they did have the shaken chicken. None of that made since but I did enjoy my meal.
Food was great ! We had to wait a while for our reservation but it was so worth it. The noodles and the fried rice was to die for we also got some other appetizers it was bomb
My husband's favorite restaurant! Didn't disappoint. We hadn't been there since the remodel. It was very well done. Their special crab continues to be outstanding. The prices, however, are quite high. Definitely an occasion restaurant. Highly recommend.
It was the absolute best! The food was amazing and the service was exceptional!
Our server Nelson was amazing! He was incredibly attentive to us and made our experience unforgettable. Thank you Nelson !!
Everyone was very nice for our birthdays
Great atmosphere. The fish in the floor are amazing as is the service and the food. A treasure!
This was, overall a great meal marred by poor service. We were a table of 6 and the waiter knew an auto 20% would be on the bill. So we sat there with empty wine glasses, with half the table waiting on drinks while the other half had their cocktails show up. We had to ask multiple times for tea or dessert to show up. The ambiance and food were great. The service was what you’d expect at a busy Applebee’s.
Some of the food was very delicious. Other dishes were I thought heavy and oily. Our server was efficient, so not particularly friendly. We have been there several times and I think this point I was a bit disappointed. The remodel space is very nice. We will go there again, as the quality is usually quite good.
Fabulous. My new favorite LA restaurant. Gorgeous! Great service! Friendly people! Loved the tuna cigars. Must go back.
Everything was perfect!
Food was delicious and our waiter was a great person.
Hadn't been there in a while, but the service was great, and the food was excellent and the remodel atmosphere is perfect!!
I didn’t like the seating. It was near an open space with heaters on a cold blustery night.
Otherwise the venue was very pleasant. Service was very good.
Difficult to open the front door. A Crustacean employee (possible a supervisor) was standing outside and could see we were having difficult trying to open the front door. Instead of opening the door for us, he points at it and says, "you open it from here." Wow. You finally get inside and the receptionist seems to have difficulty trying to deal with three parties who arrive at the same time, so you wait for a period of time even though you are there first and have reservations. Not a good first or second impression. You finally get a table, but no one gives you a menu. Finally an employees who has nothing to do with your table / service gives you a menu. The waiter is knowledgeable about the menu, but forgets to place your order in on a couple of items, including a main course. Then the staff brings you two dishes that you didn't order. Thank goodness the food that he does remembers to bring you is okay. The waiter realizes that he has made several mistakes throughout the evening, but does nothing to make up for it. Theres is no obvious supervisor / manager on duty to express your concerns to. It appears that there is a lack of supervision / management, a lack of restaurant knowledge or their relying on their previous good reputation to continue to do business. I hope they fix these issues for their sake.
