   La comida esta rica, pero por el precio considero que está sobrevalorado, el restaurante muy bonito, pero el día que fui había una boda y se mezclaba el ruido del restaurante con la boda, en general bien, pero creo que la relación precio-cálidas quedó a deber

   The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great, however the food was not impressive. It was creative in ingredients, preparation, and presentation, but lacking in flavor. And I can't imagine why they provided so many different kinds of alcohol with one meal - mezcal, wine and beer, which is not usually a good idea, at least for my body.

   Very good restaurant which got a little bit too expansive. But this is the influence of the many "gringos" in town. However, still one of the best restaurants in town. We enjoyed our dinner.

    We really wanted to like this restaurant. It’s been on our cards for 3 years. The reviews are very ambivalent for reason. There’s only a tasting menu for dinner but they don’t give a menu, to view the dishes. We ordered with the drinks pairing. Starters: sardine mayonnaise on toasted brioche and something like a beefy spring roll. Both very greasy and gooey. Paired with a cup of cava served in a rustic artisan clay cup. Followed by their version of a Caesar salad: tasted of umami overdrive; grilled lettuce, peas and beans with a cream / mayonnaise like sauce. Lacked any acidity, anything zingy or saltiness you would get from mustard or Parmesan. I get it’s their version of the classic but in this case it’s just a different salad and it all tasted quite bland together. The hibiscus, Jamaican rum cocktail was amazing! I could’ve had a litter of that. Followed by a over salted, super deep rich sea food, beef broth with noodles and a slab of chewy beef. Quite Korea style. This was paired with a gin and tonic/Tom Collins kind of cocktail. 🤯 I mean lovely cocktail but such a odd match! We couldn’t understand… Next, a octopus and chorizo sausage tostada. Very flavoursome. The most remarkable dish of the night. The tables next to us agreed. Served with a beer. So at the height of your tasting menu you’re serving a completely average beer. Ok. Last main dish, a self built taco with a pork- herb mince, and mint mash something, (again if we would have been given a menu we would know…) paired with a fruity sweet red wine. Desserts were candy like watermelon sorbet and carambolage of brownie, mint ice cream, mango and biscuits. …this was the oddest menu we have every eaten. And we have eaten a lot of tasting menus. Shame. Beautiful restaurant tho.

    Rod Stewart said "the first cut is the deepest" but I beg to differ, the second time was a through and through causing my spirit to bleed out on the floor next to the house rabbit. In Oaxaca for the second time and the first time at Criollo was good enough for us to return. Instead of a royal parade it turned into a repeat of the Emperor's new clothes. It was all pompass and uncircumstance! Criollo has reached a point where it has to rely on pretentiousness and being stuck in a culinary paradigm. You can serve 6 courses or 50 courses but if they are all flat and pointless then you are better off sticking to basics and return back to just three or just hunt down a wild pig and make some chicharrones. At this point I'm exhausted with the experience this evening but I feel obligated to warn unsuspecting victims of culinary chaos! At this level of culinary expertise there is very little wiggle room, just like wearing new spandex while being a bit over weight. There were some highlights in the evenings offerings, the oysters, the watermelon salad and the "infused" water. The planned out alcohol left me in a desert of dry spells flopping in the wind wishing I was a camel instead of a customer at this place! The lowlights of this place was a mediocre service that focused more on explaining what I was eating than providing me with a constant refill of alcoholic delights! The tamale was a dead knockoff found only in back alleys of LA and Sunday swap meet! The meat dish had an alarming fat content that made me want to start exercising at my dinner table. I had to do the dinner sin spitting out a few lbs of fat and nerves from the not so quality beef! The pre-dessert and dessert was about as interesting as expired ice cream only found at a market chain! I was able to swap out my meatless meat for a salad but what I was brought was a slimey mess that could only be used in an episode of Nickelodeon. Criollo needs to shut its doors and start a shuttle business takin

    Criollo es una restaurante con un concepto interesante, la atención del staff es increíble y la comida del menú que nos topamos fue delicioso. Que mejoraria, que abran el huerto o lo quiten de la opción yo lo elegi y termine en el salon.

    I was very excited to visit one the the restaurants of the famous Enrique Olvera. After all, my group was a disappointed with the service. Out of the 6 dishes we tried 3/4 were very good. My experience was not as expected.

    We went on a Sunday and there was only a tasting menu available. The restaurant is described as casual on Google. This was not casual and was quite expensive. I don’t feel their online description is accurate at all. The food was good but overpriced quite badly.
