Typical Cottons dishes include jerk chicken; homemade curried mutton; and Cottons most popular vegetarian dish Chaguanas Dinner Plate - chana dhal curry served with black eyed bean, chick pea and callaloo fritters, and plantain. All jerk meats at Cottons are grilled and smoked over coals and oak wood chips with hickory and pimiento and covered in Cottons homemade jerk sauce.
Cocktails are predominantly rum-based featuring Cottons originals like Sorrell Sling – beefeater gin, homemade sorrel squash, fresh lemon, creme de casssis and soda water; Cottons Punch and Killer Doppi made from four different rums.

Always a great experience to dine there. Food & cocktails amazing . The staff , especially the manager , very accommodating. All the staff are friendly & always helpful .
You forgot to put through our order and we was sitting there for a extra 40 mins plus staff was rude
Manuel 10/10 service really good and the other guy but I forget his name
Service excellent, food delicious and all round positive happy vibes! Sheltered from the weather. Cannot fault it!
Recommend fish platter for two. Request table by Riverside. Excellent location, easy to get to. Only complaint, food can be too salty but might be my palate
I’ve been to cottons a few times and it’s always been 10/10. Unfortunately the food didn’t cut it this time. I know there is potential so I will be back eventually. Maybe it was a bad day
Amazing , Tropical island feeling , almost thought I was in the Caribbean!!
We all had a lovely evening. Will be returning soon.
I used to come here and get the jerk platter to share a lot before the pandemic and the meat was really disappointing, it just seemed over cooked and too chargrilled, all black. The Mac and cheese portion is about a quarter of the size it used to be as well!
Only negative thing was after 2hrs been told to leave due to booking slots. Wont return to Cottons until that is removed
Our host Emmanuel, was absolutely amazing. Never stopped making us laugh, he made the night extra special. Even told us about the brunch ! It’s another date for me 😍
Everyone was lovely, servers and everything was nice.
But the food was absolutely awful, we ordered and food came out in two mins, obviously they were just on hold precooked and reheated. This mean to the food was cold and chewy and unappealing. Wouldn’t go back there for food.
Plus side, the cocktails were nice but overall the experience was expensive and disappointing
Everything started off very pleasantly, our waiter was very helpful and we didn't wait long for drinks. We both started with cocktails, my friend had a Mai Tai and I had the rum punch, which were quite nice, we then moved on to wine. For our main courses my friend ordered the Pumpkin, spinach & aubergine sambal, which she enjoyed and couldn't finish because she was so full. I ordered the Jerk half chicken and I was really disappointed. I grew up with Caribbean neighbours and their Jerk chicken was incredible. That said, they never used a half chicken, it was always chicken thighs or drumsticks. I think it's incredibly difficult to cook a half chicken and get it all cooked perfectly, so the drumstick and thigh was cooked really well but the breast was really dry and that's a real pet hate for me. I also found the rice and peas dry and undercooked, they came with extra sauce but to be honest that didn't really help. After we had finished eating another staff member came over and joked with us being all friendly, which was nice, however that all changed once the clock turned 10pm and we were the last two people there, we had absolutely no problem with them cleaning up around us, but what I did take exception to was the same 'friendly' staff member coming over and saying 'you need to leave in 10 minutes'. Had you looked to the other restaurant beside us there was a lot more people still there and they were being much louder than my friend and I. I totally respect that this is a residential setting and I know that there are rules that you need to clear outside areas by a certain time (10:30pm I think) so we were always planning to be gone before then, but being told in this way really put a sour twist to the end of our evening. I will not be back.
Lovely restaurant, it’s why I always love coming back. Even tho it was outdoor seating only there is a lovely setting and staff are so friendly. Food is amazing, drinks are amazing. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Really recommend!
The whole team were wonderful, service was great, it is chilly in the cold but that isn’t anyone’s fault.
Food was delicious
It is just too very cold. Please dress warm. But the food is good and the service is also. Food might take some time but its worth it
The food wasn’t nice very flavourless and cocktail was over priced they don’t do happy hour and cocktails was very weak. Wouldn’t recommend here to anyone it’s didnt taste like Caribbean food fried chicken was the worst
Need more heaters outside for smaller parties i.e 2/3 people
Music outside - louder
Great experience. Amazing food. Venue location is top tier next to the river. Will defo. go back.
Slightly overpriced compared to local Caribbean food however you pay for being on the Thames. Portions could be larger and food overall good but not everything was good. Good venue for special occasion but not a regular haunt as too pricey.
Lovely place, staff are very kind also, food was great, had a nice time
Brilliant service. Customer service was fantastic! Extremely happy with everything and the FOOD! Out of this world.
The jerk half chicken was very tasty but the rice and peas what a bit dry. The oxtail and butterbean stew was good and the plaintain was lovely but the coleslaw was a bit rough. The rum cocktail tasted great but too small for £11. The staff were friendly and efficient. We were sitting outside because of the Covid restrictions and it got a bit nippy towards the end of the evening. Used tissues were left in plant pots by previous diners which was a bit off putting.
Please bring back your Stew Chicken it was my only favourite dish of yours and was gearing up for it to find it wasn't on your menu.
Cannot stress that enough!
Fruit punch needs more strawberry syrup!!!But lovely presentation just a bit too much ice.
Saltfish fritters amazing!!!!
Jerk chicken absolutely perfect.
Also the cinnamon doughnuts were amazing keep these forever I will be back!
Please provide soap in ladies toilets there was two empty bottles full of water in them!
Alcohol gel gives me a bad reaction so I rely on soap to clean hands after using the toilet.
Staff could be more friendly especially when being greeted at the entrance. The staff was very abrupt and dis not get a warm welcome.
First impressions count for another.
Very lovely meal. The flavours and spice were really nice! For the price the portion could have been slightly bigger, and the oxtail could have done with more meat on the bones. The cocktail was really nice too! Great atmosphere, views and accommodating service. Would definitely go again and try something new!
Enjoyed my daughter's 21st birthday. Has a lovely time. Friendly staff.
Pretty good place. Large portions. They rush you out within 90 mins to max profits.
The food was ok BUT...
1. The food was cold! (We ordered a platter and everything on it was cold)
2. We were issued to sit at a wet & sticky table with a drink spilt below it (We had to request for it to be cleaned)
The prawns starter was not worth the price, it was cold and overcooked.
The host was really helpful and understanding
Never any complaints when I go Vauxhall Cottons. Love the improved recipe for the ‘Cottons curried mutton’ as well more authentic now.
The weather was not niece, eating outside the food got cold really quick and my dish was really burned.
A rainy cold day, but we were well sheltered under the canopies with heaters. Service was very pleasant and prompt. Cocktail a little weak, Merlot OK. Food was reasonable and generous portion sizes, although choice a bit limited.
The staff were friendly and attentive. Our drinks and food came in good time and was all delicious.
We went when it was raining but everywhere is well covered and it was warm. Good social distancing measures in place
terrible food service ok but not great didnt have items on menu didnt know what sides came with what main not great plantain as it was hard the cocounut sauce tasted soapy
This place was really nice. The starters were so delicious but the main chickpea curry was a little bit of a let down afterwards. The jerk salmon however was also delicious.
Plan on heading back to try their bottomless brunch
The manager was rude and also said we had to move table in the middle of our meal for someone else to sit where they seated us
Lovely and kind staff. Amazing food and drinks. Would deffo come again
Amazing food!!! Amazing service!!! Lovely restaurant!!!!
