Cottons is something of a Chalk Farm institution. And with a history going back to 1985, how could it be anything else?

Spreading the contagious spirit of the Caribbean - Cottons food, drink and trademark colorful interiors are all totally tropical, centered around an innovative Caribbean menu inspired by islands from Jamaica to Margarita.

Typical Cottons dishes include jerk chicken with rice ‘n’ peas; homemade curried mutton; and Cottons most popular vegetarian dish Chaguanas Dinner Plate - chana dhal curry served with black eyed bean, chick pea and callaloo fritters, and plantain. All jerk meats at Cottons are grilled and smoked over coals and oak wood chips with hickory and pimiento and covered in Cottons homemade jerk sauce.

Cocktails are predominantly rum-based featuring Cottons originals like Sorrell Sling – beefeater gin, homemade sorrel squash, fresh lemon, creme de casssis and soda water; Cottons Punch and Killer Doppi.

Service was friendly between us we had, for starters, the salt & pimiento squid & the salt fish fritters followed by curried mutton & grilled creole swordfish steak. All very tasty & just filling enough for us to go on to a concert without feeling stuffed!

The food was amazing. Fresh and flavoursome. Service was really good. Live band was great. Nit too busy although seemed popular. Would visit again soon

The food was excellent, even though I was totally stuffed I couldn't stop eating as it tasted so good. The welcome and staff are fantastic which creates a great atmosphere.

This time we went for the cocktails, Killer Duppy and others. Cottons cocktails has not disappointed so far unlike other establishments.

The restaurant was cute and cosy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food came quickly and had flavour. Cocktails were 10/10 & loads to choose from so I would return.

Had a fun evening. Haven’t been for a while after moving out of town. Food is still great. Jerk chicken, coconut prawns are delicious. Great cocktails. The staff were really helpful and nice to us. Great Island music in the background. There is a reason this restaurant has been going for so long. Highly recommended.

I have tried loads of cocktails around the London area before but these cocktails were the one of the best ones. Food was so delicious aswell. But only negative was the toilets, they are not ventilated enough and it was so hard to breath inside of it cos the air was really stuffy. But overall im very happy with the restaurant and i will defo go back again
