Couldn’t get enough of the bread and arrabiata sauce the octopus came in. Solid to exceptional pizzas but the mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad were up there for all time best.
Fun and moderately priced wine list as well. Great experience and WONDERFUL service.
Great place for a delicious, hip, casual meal
Delicious pizza. Great vibes.
Overpriced. Especially the non pizza entrees. Our eggplant t Owen was literally two bites. Theyve done a nice physical re-do of Pizza Buona.
Valentine’s Day. Great food and service!
Came here for my girlfriends birthday and her brother's family came with their 10 month old. The manager and wait staff was more than accommodating. Food was excellent and service was quick and polite. Dishes were cleared instantly as soon as we were done.
Great food and service
We ordered the mozzarella sticks, marsala mushrooms, veal and meat lovers pizza. Everything was great; however, I'd say the four mozzarella sticks they give you for $11 may not be the best value. The pizza was perfectly prepared and perhaps the best-tasting pizza I've ever had! The service was also fantastic.
Great little spot! We had the mozzarella sticks (fantastic), chicken wings (very good), and eggplant parmigiana (very good). Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food at. Reasonable price.
We had a wonderful first experience at Cosa Buona. Everything was delicious! Maybe the best meatballs I’ve ever eaten, and I know a good meatball. :) The chop salad and pizzas were great and to top it off the music was on point. Can’t go wrong here in my opinion.
Food was very tasty. The prices seemed fair but some dishes were a bit pricey for what you got. The place was quite small so you felt a little packed in if you were not in a booth. It was also a bit loud so it was hard to hear the person talking next to you and you had to yell to talk to the person across from you. But all in all, a very trendy place with good food. We had the meatballs, the clams, Caesar salad, the crispy potatoes, zucchini (?) on toast, pizzas and for four people, we still had to take food home.
Note that 18% is tacked onto your bill automatically-not sure if this was pre-tax or not, but the service we received didn't warrant that amount.
Some of the best pizza in L.A. -- if not THE best. Small place on a fun corner of Sunset Blvd. in the hip Silver Lake neighborhood, Cosa Buono combine the best of a joint-for-locals vibe with foodie-quality goods. Pizzas, meatballs, vegetable dishes, and a short but smart wine list are the stand outs here -- but nothing is less than excellent. Staff is friendly and knows their stuff. You'll turn into a regular from the first moment you walk in.
Had dinner at Cosa Buona after attending a Sunday evening performance of Cirque du Soleil at Dodger Stadium. Our reservation was for 7:30. When we arrived we were informed that they were running 10-15 minutes behind, and I think we waited between 15 and 20 minutes. While waiting is never fun, in the end the food was worth the wait.
The four of us decided to order a bunch of dishes to share, including a mushroom pizza, a pizza biancoverde, an artichoke, broccolini, and baby octopus arrabiata. All four of us enjoyed every dish - in fact, I'm drooling just thinking about the pizza.
Food was great! Loved the meatballs and pizza! Service was average.
Fantastic food and great space. Music was way too loud and a Chardonnay on the menu would be nice. Overall wonderful.
We had a lovely meal for my daughter’s birthday. We especially enjoyed the meatball dish. The crispy bread with tender well-seasoned meatballs with creamy cheese, was exceptional. The pizza was also delicious. The white and green pizza was delicate with a nice bitter touch and the pepperoni was spicy with just enough sauce. Our service was excellent. Our Tirumisu dessert (delivered with a candle and singing waiters!) was the perfect ending to a perfect meal!
Best smoked mozzarella sticks ever! Roasted mushrooms
Marsala is a must. Pizzas are delicious and the crust is perfect. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.
We have always wanted to go to Cosa Buona before a Dodger game but they don't open quite early enough. So, we made plans to go after seeing Cirque du Soleil (which is also located at Dodger Stadium - I guess it's a thing I have - if I am heading to Dodger Stadium, I look for interesting restaurants this Westsider wouldn't otherwise get a chance to try!)
The food was terrific. Really, everything we had (all vegetarian items) were delicious. Even the "green salad"! Boring name. Excellent dressing!
One odd thing - they add the tip in for you before the tax - 18% (which is lower than we would have left) and then you are charged tax on the tip. I think that is maybe not helping the servers?
I had asked for a special table since we were celebrating a birthday. They set us right by the front door. When I asked why we weren’t getting a nicer tables, the hostess showed me the nice table and said that it would be 15 minutes after my reservation time before we could dine there. The price point for the food it was fine but the wine bottles were too expensive. If I’m ordering two pizzas and that’s cheaper than a bottle of wine something is not right. They were out of wine “by the glass” at 6:30 PM. Our bill was $200 for four people, one bottle of wine, one beer, two pizzas, salad, appetizer and two desserts.
This is the best Italian food I have had in a long time. I am still dreaming of the pizza crust. Yum
The food was good but nothing exceptional. And the 18% included gratuity, although simplifying, causes service to suffer. Not worth a long drive but great local spot!
Not a big menu but EVERYTHING is good. Everything is house made, very flavorful been there twice already. Amazing food!
Great food great ambiance and great service. Everyone was awesome and the food was great
Phenomenal pizza. Excellent appetizers and small dishes. Mushrooms should be served with bread. Service a bit slow and inattentive.
The pizza at Cosa Buona is some of, if not THE best, pizza I have had in LA. It is a delightful environment, the wait staff is friendly and the food is DELICIOUS. Highly recommend to anyone.
This place is just so damn yummy. I can't get enough.
Wonderful reimagining of the corner of Alvarado and Sunset. Nice room, full flavored dishes in the tapas tradition to share. Good beer selection. Perfect for before the Bootleg or the Echo/Echoplex. Go!
DELICIOUS pizza on the West Coast. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for excellent Neopolitan pizza.
Food comes out a bit too quickly and it's easily the loudest restaurant in LA. Otherwise, love the food and wine list.
Excellent food, service and ambience. Was there with five friends. We ordered lots of items and tasted all around. Each dish was uniquely flavorful. The mushrooms and the octopus were my particular favorites, however the pizzas--probably the best in L.A. Hats off to Zac Pollack.
I never want to eat pizza from anywhere else in Los Angeles again.
Great atmosphere for a pizzeria; even better since it's sister restaurant to Sotto & Alemento.
Manager, Cesar, is super friendly. Now even has valet parking.
Food was decent. Can definitely get better pizza elsewhere in LA. Servers were all very friendly, however, they continuously forgot items we ordered including drinks, salads and one of our pizzas. Way over priced for what you get.
Plates were chipped and when I asked for another, I was told most were chipped and the waitress didn't think she could replace mine
People came in off the stree and sat at our reserved table (which was by the door) and the restaurant seemed not to want to ask them to get up
At the table next to us (an odd shaped table for 3, they sat a group of 5 who really crowded us
Food was great though
Service was struggling, not detailed, and inconsistent- awkward. The food was as fantastic as our first visit. This is the first time we got dessert. Tiramisu was amazing. The cannoli was not. Still, we love this place and will be back.
Food did not come out together and large gaps between each dish being brought to the table
Very over priced for what we ordered
Cosa Buona has perfected and elevated many of the pizzeria comfort foods. Among the best mozzarella sticks, chopped salad, and cheesecake I've had.
The food is GREAT. We went based on Jonathan Gold's review. It's small, however, and only accepts reservations for groups of four or more. Be prepared to wait on the weekend. To that end, I hope hey will add more benches outside, or do cross promotions with the wine bar down the street so you can sip while you wait. The broccolini is a revelation.
We had been looking forward to this new place and invited friends to come along, expecting something a bit higher end, but were a bit underwhelmed, basically a neighborhood joint, maybe about 50 eats, service was a bit disorganized, and even after being seated had to alert the reception to get someone to give us menus...anyway the pizzas are ok, a bit too soft of a crust for my taste and the toppings were a above average but not outstanding ....we were expecting more from the Alimento offshoot
