Overall good experience. Enjoyed the charcuterie and cocktails, especially the Black Manhattan. Croutons on the Caesar were amazing tasteful. Fennel sausage and foraged mushroom pizza was overwhelmed by the goat cheese and Mama' pickled peppers. More sausage and mushrooms and smaller dollops of chevre and peepers on the side would be better.

We showed up to our confirmed reservation to find a sign on the door that the restaurant was CLOSED NEW YEARS DAY. I was so disappointed, as this friend and I rarely get together and we only had a short amount of time to spend together… which is why we made reservations and confirmed them thinking that the technology would prevent this kind of miscommunication error. I’m sure we would have had a lovely time had they been open. I would be happy to remove my ratings after my message is seen.

Service was poor--slow and ungracious, which is unfortunately becoming a real hallmark of dining in Portland these days. We had a vegan in our group whom the restaurant refused to accommodate. A greasy spoon diner would have been more flexible. Cocktails were good, however.

Upscale restaurants that are going to survive COVID are going to have to try to do a little better and not use the pandemic as an excuse to provide subpar service.

The bartender, Rich was lovely. As was our server. I’m not certain of what I may have said to the sommelier, but the man was very irritable. I thought about asking why he was so mad at me, but that seemed weird. I eventually just went with some cab from CA.
Whatever you do, don’t ask for a Malbec from Argentina. It’s poking the bear!

Thanksgiving buffet with superb turkey, ham, and sides. What? No pumpkin pie? Well there was a little tart like pumpkin pastry, no coffee or tea to complete the meal, none offered.

The beet was awful! Hardly any beets and the sauce was smothering the salad. Terrible! Terrible! So expensive too! The potato’s accompanying the steak were not cooked and almost raw. The steak was delicious. Very disappointed. I will not return to your establishment. Paid way too much money.

To dine with this level of excellence during a pandemic is just amazing. The food was outstanding, duck, lamb, filet, salmon - 4 fantastic meals.

I would have liked the wine list to offer more wines in the $40 - $50 range, we would have bought two instead of just one that is over $60 as are most of the extensive offerings. This was not a special occasion just four friends out for a meal. T

While the food (Our table had the beet and frisee salads, tagliatelle, the duck, and the lamb) was very good and the spot leans hip, the service was wayyyyy off. Maybe a bad evening. The wine we ordered with dinner came before our pre-dinner cocktails (which also came at different times). The timing for the meal was off, too. We were compensated with dessert. Maybe a fluke.

Great place! I hadn't been here in years, and at the last minute wanted to take some friends out. The food was really great, the menu was creative and classic at the same time.

Awesome drinks, thoughtful wine pairings.

We had venison, beef and duck for the main courses, all spectacular. I will say the potatoes that went with the steak weren't salted much, if at all.

But other than that, it was a fantastic, incredible evening. This place is aspiring to be great, and it's well on it's way.

Went on a week night and food was not up to their usual standard. Found out from server the head chef was off that night and lead chef was sous chef. Duck was rare and chewy, both skin and meat, severely undercooked (and we like med rare normally). It was generally just sub-standard that evening; was disappointed. Server comp’d the duck, so that was positive.

The perfect way to experience exceptional, uniquely Pacific-Northwest dining. The service was awesome, especially the explanation of the menu. Most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. I haven't enjoyed a restaurant dining experience so much in a long time. Plus its really good value - not cheap, by any means, but totally worth it. I highly recommend ClarkLewis.

My friend was visiting from California and, since Clarklewis is my FAVORITE restaurant, I wanted to treat her to a dinner there. We actually had to change the reservation for a later time because my dog was waiting to be seen at DoveLewis after being bitten by another dog. When I called from the vet to see if I could arrange this, the woman who took the call was more than gracious and accommodating. We arrived at 8P and had an EXCEPTIONAL dining experience. Everything was delicious but the unique take on the S’mores dessert - complete with campfire smoke! - is something we will never forget!

Great food - great service - great ambience & great people! I was a:single diner at the bar who doesn't live in Portland, and my experience was the best it could be. Knowledgeable, friendly staff shared their favorite menu suggestions, the bartender was also the one who chose the perfect music for this space, and everything was delicious from the Caesar salad and tagliatelle to the unique s'mores dessert creation. The wine by the glass selection is also very good and the team made me feel at home immediately. I could go on and on because I know how hard restaurants are working to make it through this challenging time! Please support your local establishments as best you can. Clarklewis is a must-try for locals and visitors.

Looking forward to returning to Clarklewis after a delicious meal our first time there.
Immediately found noise level 'way too loud, especially from open kitchen with machinery going and lots of loud talking. Waited a long time for salads and then again for entree. Salads were very good. Wait-staff apologetic for long delays.
Salmon entree delicious.
Pizza was good but lacked sauce, like tomato.
2 duck entrees were rare and inedible. Kitchen remade entree with medium cooked duck which was very good but only half the size of original order.
Wanted dessert but would have to wait 15 min. (probably longer) so we paid and left.
