Claim Jumper - Costa Mesa
We enjoyed a quick pre-theater dinner at the Claim Jumper. I enjoyed the Cali Citrus Salad while my guest enjoyed the Cali Prime Rib sandwich. Both were very good!
Noise level energetic?? How about intrusive and annoying?
Like this restaurant - miss the Claim Jumpers we have had in Orange County. Food was great! Needed a better - slower - more attentive waiter.
We had a nice birthday lunch for my adult son. The food was great and the service was prompt and friendly. Our server brought a nice piece of cake with a lighted candle and even sang "happy birthday" with us - a nice touch.
I had the full rack of ribs - always great.
Great food and excellent service with pleasant ambiance.
Everything was good, except I'm pretty sure the price of our meals went up by several dollars from the menu to the bill: Cali Citrus Chicken Salad really $15.99? Chinese Chicken Salad $15.99? And I asked for the avocado on the side and that was another $2. Three "errors" on the bill out of a possible three.
Food was good I had grilled salmon & they prepared it to my preference. Pretty inside. The music a little too loud when you’re trying to converse with your table mates. Our servicer was very nice as well. Nice evening before attending our concert at the music center across the street.
Valentines... issues were no bbq sauce on burger and no ranch brought out as requested prior... but overall great service!!
This was a meet up with friends dinner before a concert at Segerstrom Center. We have done this before and keep coming back because we like everything about Claim Jumper from the service to the food to the atmosphere. It is also a good value and very convenient for us.
A customer should never have to track down the waiter or waitress, when the customer needs to order more drinks or food. When a client orders the most expensive steak that the restaurant offers. The customer usually likes to have a glass of red wine with the meal while the steak is hot. You can’t use the excuse that the restaurant is too busy and that is why the server can’t attend to her or his customers.
Claim Jumper needs to do a better job of coordinating their service staff. Salad plates should be cleared before entrees are served. Entrees are brought by an auxiliary staff person, not the waitress. When that person arrived with 3 large entree plates he was unable to remove the salad plates so the 3 of us had to pick them up and hold them until we could hand them to him. Very poor practice.
Food was delisioso
And service was greattttt and plan to attend next time with my family they would love it
We had a pre-theater reservation for 6:00. We got there a few minutes early and the restaurant was jam-crowded. The poor hostess was frazzled, trying to accommodate people like us who had reservations as well as walk-ins. We were seated finally at 6:15. The wait staff was slow in taking, and then bringing, our order, but apologized for the delay. It seemed the restaurant was short-staffed, especially for a night at which there were 3 events in nearby theaters.
We go here fairly regularly. The quality of food and service is above average. Not fantastic but predictable reliable.
Food was terrible service was okay. Nice people they were just overwhelmed. But seriously the food was just cafeteria quality.
Food was average. Service was rushed.
We visited before theater - food just ok, over salted and overcooked
Noisy and people rushing everywhere
I doubt we will return
The food quality has definitely changed, the potato cheese soup was for sure canned cheese, the mozzarella sticks were so cold they were still like string cheese inside, the waiter was running around like a mad man but it wasn’t busy and took forever to order. I recommend the bar area only.
Had reservations Christmas Eve for 8 and we were seated right away. Between all eight of us we had chicken, steak & salmon. Every meal was delicious.
Had a very tentative waiter Sean. The evening was perfect.
Our waiter and our food was excellent. I had the chicken bowtie pasta , couldn't finish it so I brought it home and finished it the next day!
It took too long to get a waiter or waitress and when the food came it look like it was slapped on the plates, missing items on plates had to continually ask for a refill of tea or coffee and food was cold
We were treated well by wait servers and management. Food was only mediocre, we had to send back the pizza. It was crazy busy we were not rushed but disappointed by quality of meal.
My farmhouse burger was perfect. My friends ordered fish and chips and said it was a tad salty but all in all everything was good.
We were a large group- squeezed into a table even though I had made a reservation a month ago. The settings were not set up- they put silverware and plates at end of table for us to set up- just didn't feel welcome. Then when we ordered one meal out of 12 was not present. It took three people asking for them to respond, then the manager came over and said the meal would be at no charge. Most diners were done by the time the last meal came. The bill was presented and the meal was not removed. I was disappointed in the overall feeling we got- BUT the food was good :)
Ate at CJ after the Christmas Carol at SCR. It was awesome on all levels. I accidentally left my credit card at the restaurant and when I called they said it was turned in by our waiter and in the safe waiting. I went by the next day and picked it up. I tried to leave the Manager a few extra dollars for our server and he said it wasn't necessary. He said next time, park near the restaurant and take the pedestrian bridge to the play. That way will save the hassle of parking twice and traffic. Thanks for the parking idea and being honest with a lost credit card. You guys have earned my repeat business and I have spread the word. Keep up the great job and I am already looking forward to our next play.
Our waitress was fantastic and very attentive. The only negative was that I had requested a booth and we were seated at a table. I would have preferred that we be given preferential treatment with a reservation because most people arrive without one. We were given a lame excuse but the restaurant was busy, for sure. The meal and wait staff more than made up for it.
Everything was Great Fantastic service food had good flavor. Definitely will go back.
The food was excellent. We went on Thanksgiving and they were packed. The waitress was super friendly.
Love this place.
Claim Jumper was a great option for Thanksgiving- excellent food; and good selection of choices to please everyone
Great food great evening
Good food and excellent service!
We were seated right away however it was ten minutes before anybody came to our table. At that time we ordered drinks, appetizers and food all at once since we had a 7:30 show to get to across the street. The mozzarella sticks took 25 min to come out and were cold and hard. The food came out about ten minutes after that and was also cold. The gravy on my son’s food had a film on it from sitting so long and my daughter’s impossible burger wasn’t warm at ALL and the bun was pasty from being soaked with pickle juice. My husbands meal was also cold and the chicken on my salad was dry and tough. Sadly it was my son’s birthday and he’d been looking forward to the cake but we didn’t have time for it because the food took so long. I’ve never been so disappointed with Claim Jumper. But we’re not likely to go back after such a sad experience. I can’t believe we paid $115 for THAT.
Was convenient for the Segerstrom theatre but we were late for the performance because of slow service. Had 4:30 reservations and show was at 6:30. Manager did comp part of the meal but it shouldn’t take 2 hours for a quick dinner.
Claim Jumper is a good place to go before going to the Segerstrom Center for a show since it's a short walk to the theatre. I was disappointed with the seating at a booth that had stains all along the booth. I felt they could have seated us in a booth that was cleaner. The waiter had to ask the manager to come to the booth and we pointed out the disappointment. She said Claim Jumper was just sold to another company and they are working on cleaning.
The manager came over. They were understaffed. Didn't get my iced tea for 30 minutes because the server said she forgot to ask what flavor I wanted. Food was terrible. Will definitely not return.
Great waitress who got us in and out in time to see our play
Been to other CJ's and the location was ideal for a family meeting.
I'm part of the Landry's Select Club, thus I was hope to collect points, but I guess I missed the e-mail that during/after the CJ's sale, they were no long associated with the program. My server mentioned there was still a discount available, but I didn't see it on my bill.
I was meeting my daughter at the restaurant, but she had arrived early, thus was waiting in the bar. I asked if I could have the tab transferred to the dinner bill, with was no problem, but I don't think it was registered, so I feel bad that I owe CJ's for a couple of drafts, and I don't think the bartender go any kind of tip.
Foods are terrible. Menu is limited. Chicken, mass potatoes is the worst dish.
Always great food. Our server was wonderful. Great place for a large group.
