Set in sophisticated yet relaxing interiors using light colours alongside huge expanses of light grey Italian marble, Ciccaro by San Carlo reinterprets the delightful Venetian culinary custom of cicchetti – delicious small plate dishes to share or eat alone, enjoyed with a beer or glass of wine.

Each season Ciccaro launches a new, expertly crafted menu. While still retaining the favourites, the new dishes will feature the freshest and best seasonal ingredients sourced from markets in Milan.

With an Italian Chairman, Italian director, Italian chefs, Ciccaro is an authentic Italian restaurant.

                                                                                                                                    Great style, finesse and service, unfortunately I can not say the same about the food, it was mediocre and a real shame that the turbot was so over cooked it was really dry and should be easy to cook properly! I think the service is quick so they can get as many covers as possible. Will not be rushing to return.

They didn’t bring the main meals at the same time, then dumped them onto the table and left without waiting to see if we wanted any condiments or cheese. One of the meals was lukewarm and it was just an overall not a great experience for the cost. Wouldn’t come back

It was very noisy, though - the tables are really close together, so we struggled to hear each other speak, and other diners and waitstaff kept knocking against us as they went past.

Asked about timing of foods and the schedule of preparation was just what we wanted. Food was hot, delicious and plentiful.

                                                                                                                                    Enjoyable venue. Staff pleasant but a bit slow. First course of calamari not good--chewy. Second course of sea bass and spaghettie bolognase good.

                                                                                                                                    Overall a good experience but not amazing. I remember coming here years ago where there was always a great atmosphere and really good value for money. Now under the illusion of being recommended to share several small tapas size plates, the range of dishes from a quality perspective are hit and miss. I would recommend a pasta dish and meat or fish and size order of vegetables, but if you add some wine, you can top £ 60 per head. Hardly value for money. Service was very good. A 3 out of 5 star experience.

                                                                                                                                    A lovely venue, good food and a nice atmosphere. Desserts were absolutely delicious. Good customer service. A bit touristy but it's completely understandable because of the central location.
