Chucs Cafe Chelsea
Come evening, the lights are dimmed and coffee cups make way for twinkling candles. Join us for an aperitivo and cicchetti at the bar, or an intimate dinner with friends - we'll be serving up Truffle Arancini, Beef Carpaccio with Chucs Sauce, as well as Risotto with Squash, Amaretti & Sage. Don't forget to leave room for our famous Tiramisu.
Outdoor seating is cramped and very exposed to wind
This was an awful experience. Our table was booked for 8.30pm, however, we weren’t seated until 9pm. We had to stand for 30mins in the cold waiting. We were then promised two glasses of Prosecco to make up for the wait. These never arrived.
My friend then ordered a burger, at which point they said they had run out of burger buns (?) so the burger arrived without a bun and, instead, came with 2 slices of white everyday sliced bread (we were told it was sourdough - it was a warburton loaf). My friend then found a large piece of PLASTIC in his burger. The burger was sent back and replaced with a pizza - at which point it was almost 10 and we’d both lost the will.
Awful, never again.
Good, nothing spectacular. But good service and location.
Outdoor seating nice.
The waitress was super attentive and friendly and provided an excellent service. The food seemed slightly overpriced for what it was but it was yummy overall. It’s a cute little spot slightly hidden away
This was not a great experience. Exceptionally rude staff, we were rushed in and out even though we had a 1.5 hour booking and the food was extremely plain for the price.
Tables outside were cramped with no social distancing, just generally a let down.
First waitress who was older and had darker hair had a terrible attitude and was rude. Forgot items from the order and dismissed us. Such a shame as I’ve had wonderful experiences at the Kensington cafe.
Very rude staff, service was horrendous. Meal came missing half of the sides, was told upon ordering that everything was available and then only when the food arrived “sorry those sides aren’t actually available”. Still charged full price.
Very old man unwell across the street so my friend asked for some water to give to him. Staff sneered and were extremely rude and derogatory about the old unwell gentlemen which was frankly embarrassing to be in the presence of.
Waitress then rudely said they’d have to amend the bill to add on the water bottle for the man! Waitress then clearly stupid as couldn’t half the bill amount correctly. Shambles and I’m embarrassed to have been there and will be posting on every social media and review website going that this place is disgusting in every sense of the word. As a local resident and active community member I’m going to make sure everyone knows of my experience. Staff should be ashamed of themselves.
Book! Food is great and the staff do all they can to make you cosy and comfortable despite the chill. So good to be back.
The staff is very friendly, mostly Natasha.
The food is good.
I recommend Chucs
The staff were lovely and very accommodating, allowing us to enjoy the cafe and our table as much as possible. Thank you
Service was great but the food arrived cold which wasn't what we expected
Poor food, terribly overpriced
Poor service from the waitress and tasteless food. We were rushed to leave, as someone booked our table just after us, but no one informed us of the time limit when we arrived. I understand it’s a busy period, but they handled it poorly.
The cacio e pepe was not al dente
I ordered the risotto which was SO SMALL and bland and a glass of prosecco which again was so small. I felt like I spent so much for literally nothing - I had to make another dinner when home because I was so hungry. It was small by anyone’s standard and I feel completely ripped off and upset that I wasted the money. Do not dine here. Maybe for a drink or brunch but dinner options very poor.
Great stuff. Loved the tables and the food. Service also very respectful.
no vegan options which were disappointing.
I thought the staff and interior was lovely but we had a cobb salad and it was very bad, a bit like eating children’s food, it’s put me off returning, what a shame
Great venue for a quick coffee or a date. Staff are very nice. COVID safe setting.
A great place to meet for a breakfast in quiet and discrete surroundings. A great alternative to Colbert.
Food was disappointing. Service wasn't great. Had better experiences at other Chucs in London.
Not as good as the restaurant - quite small and cramped had to ask for another table as we felt too close in between 2 other tables - told it was 1m away so should be fine. They did find us another table.
Unfortunately they had a plumber fixing something at the bar so was quite noisy.
Waited a while to order but the food came quickly - good food very good coffee
Not sure I will come again though
Really enjoyed this, but was a little disappointed to see how much the menu of Chucs Cafe differs to a regular Chucs. Booked it based on the strength of the fish dishes, only to have a Cobb Salad with Salmon as the one fish option. This isn't the restaurant's fault, it is mine, but worthwhile pointing our for others who may be expecting the same as I.
Service was great, beautiful decor as you expect with Chucs, and a good easy to find location. Took COVID precautions seriously and made it feel very safe and enjoyable. Would go again, but not for dinner - I feel the sweet spot for this place is brunch, the menu for which looked amazing.
Super friendly staff and delicious food, you can’t go wrong
There were no people at the restaurant, yet the hostess (the only waitress) took her time to acknowledge us upon arrival. Took 45 minutes for the food to arrive and only then, we were told that they ran out of hollandaise sauce and chef was currently making it (?). This was at 10.30am on a Sunday!
Luckily we did not get charged for the eggs benedict but it still arrived when everyone else had finished their meal.
Very cosy place but average food!
Food is lovely and service very good.
The menu is limited, however suits the family and I fine , chef seems very approachable with requests.
Value for money, all depends on your budget. For this area, it's good value for your money as you are getting the excellent quality in the food and great service.
Went for an evening meal with some friends.
Poor service, below average food and expensive for what it was. We were fooled by the nice interiors...shall not be returning.
Nice location, but mediocre food at a price way too high for the quality.
Very welcoming place to dine in. Had wonderful time with very friendly service and the food was beyond enjoyable! Also the coffee is a must to try. Will definitely come back!!!
The Cobb Salad is amazing! Nice quiet atmosphere.
Lovely food, great coffee and amazing service. Pretty and clean place and no one rushed us to leave. Definitely coming back x
We enjoyed our meal so much we went back the next day. Excellent and friendly service delicious food and good selection of drinks.
Hard to get attention from waiters. Food cold.
We were recommended here by a friend. He is going in two weeks time, but luckily their Belgravia branch. It was strangely without atmosphere for a Sunday lunchtime, but sadly two of the three dishes were really poor. The Chucs cobb salad and the chicken Milanese are well worth avoiding, but the butternut squash risotto was good.
It was tasty but I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was
This place is a great scaled-down version of the only Chuc's I had been to previously, Notting Hill. Their menu is refreshing and bursting with flavour. I did not feel I missed anything from prior visits.
Lovely service as ever at Chucs in Chelsea
Lovely cafe within relaxed and sophisticated setting. Fabulous service, great food and overall a really enjoyable experience.
Having been to other chucs restaurants I was looking forward to experiencing this one. It was very disappointing. The service was terrible. The waiters were more interested in talking to each other than serving anyone. The food was indifferent.
One of the worst Eggs Royal I have ever had. The brioche was way to thick with little taste to it.
