The chop shop was a great find in my mind , the service and food were exceptional , great taste and great value for money .
Pleasantly surprised. I can definitely recommend the pork chop!!!
I think prices are not keeping with their food. Their meat is extremely expensive but it’s not exclusive, Patty burger is not delicious as I’ve seen in comments here. Dissappointed place
Great location for theatre. Prompt service with pre-theatre menu, limited choices but very good food (rump steak, well cooked and tender, chicken tasty), although had to pay extra for a side with steak as only came with a garnish. Tables well spaced out, so easy to have a good conversation.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff . Good prices as in heart of the capital .
Very good food and service. Good atmosphere and very good value for money. Would not hesitate in recommending to a friend or returning
I eat a lot of steak and the 300g bone-in rib chop was well cooked (medium rare), tasty and a decent portion. The service was efficient, friendly and they had a good selection of beers. The chicken wings were also large and tasty.
Great Pre Theatre Meal, the sharing board is lovely!
Quick pre theatre dinner. 2 course express menu. Delicious rump steak cooked to perfection. Nice wine good service.
Really nice food, service was good, the only disappointment was they didn't have any lamb, which for a Chop Shop isn't the best, must have been a busy weekend as we were there on a Monday evening. The pre-theatre menu was good value for money and very nice.
I found out about Chop Shop via Instagram, and went there with a friend while we were in London and was not disapointed! We ate dinner there, I had the hanger steak med.raw and it was absolutley perfect! Mashed potatoes and garlic mushrooms on the sides. Great place for a casual date or dinner with friends. Great service, I can't remember our waitresses name, but she was very helpfull and attentative. Will definitley eat at Chop Shop again!
Nice location easy to get too, food was good tried the pork and lamb chop, though would be nice if sides were provided with this as it comes on its own, but no matter we ordered a few total came up to £30 each that's with a tea at the end.
Would come again. Good place for a catch up with a friend or a date
80% of our food was very good. The kids enjoyed theirs, as did my wife.
The one person that didn’t was the guy who paid.
Ordered a filet medium, and it was closer
To Well than Medium.
Filet was overdone, chewy and distasteful.
Whenever a guest leaves more than 70% of a steak on a plate, the server should ask if there was a problem.
No one asked me.
Would not Return, nor would I recommend to anyone.
We reserved a table for our family on NY's Eve before seeing a show. It is a cute, contemporary pub of the kind I've seen in Chicago. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but it was quiet, probably owing to the early dinner hour. We had burgers and sandwiches, which were good, as was the service.
Very nice industrial style steakhouse a few steps away from Piccadilly Circus tube station. Quite and relaxing atmosphere. The service was accurate and discrete despite the young age of the staff. The salmon was delicious, served with rice and vegetables: definitely a main dish. The fillet was really good as well but 29pound is too pricey, considering that it comes with no side at all. We enjoyed the dinner overall and would recommend the Chop Shop anyway.
Starters-The presentation of the baby gem salad was poor, the flavour was ok.the squash soup and wings were tasty.
Main-The onion rings and mash were sent back as they were cold, the hamburger was sent back as it was not cooked to spec. The Lamb steak had very little meat on it, the fillet and ribeye were fine.
Nothing blew us away with this meal and with so many similar restaurants to choose from in the area I would not be going back.
Excellent Burgers and Wings. The onion rings were amazing!
We had a late booking (10:15pm) post theatre and it was very quiet - however it was the last Friday before Christmas.
nice enough place with friendly attentive staff, food was very nice but the let down like a lot of places is the overpriced wine and the need to add 12.5% tip to the bill making a £10 bottle of wine cost £40
Great food and ambience. Friendly staff and the steak was superb! This restaurant is perfect if you need to eat around Piccadilly Circus. I would highly recommend it.
We made a chance booking - looking for a non-chain restaurant with good food & reviews close to Trafalgar Square. Overall the food was excellent - I had one of the best pork chops I've ever had - badly let down by the sprouts - worst ever. Drink prices were eye watering. Service was not the swiftest but we were in no particular hurry so good to be able to sit and chat. We would not hesitate in eating here again.
Disappointed, the premises looked tired, the back room was cold and draughty next to the kitchen, when the food arrived the steak wasn't cooked as ordered and the burger was warm both were sent back. The meal didn't represent value for money at all. We were on a special weekend in London this spoilt the evening totally. The wine was over priced, will not go again and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.
Dropped in before show. Could not make mind up whether to go steak, or burger. We decided on burgers, and were not disappointed. I had chilli burger, cooked medium and it was delicious. One of best burgers I have had. Partner loved her burger wich! Fries were perfect. Staff friendly and efficient. Price about right for quality of food. We will use again, when down in London again
Nice looking restaurant very friendly staff but very cold in draft from door, didn't have the special offer rib chop but substituted if for a much smaller ribeye steak but offered no discount until challenged, basically got the starters free so £4 off per steak which didn't seem much.
Wow what a great place, the food was awesome, if your a meat lover this is the place for you! Service was good, allergy knowledge was good and the food was amazing. Best pork and lamb i have had in a long time.
Outstanding steaks! We were surprised at the superior quality of the meat (Far better than Hawksmoor). I highly recommend the filets and the sides offered were equally good.
Great steak, cooked perfectly to our request although I found it a little salty. Nice restaurant atmosphere and good wine. Would definitely come here again.
We went for the pre theatre menu and although not much choice what we had was really good. The market fish was very generously portioned. The steak came on it's own so you have to pay for sides. All in all very good value for a quick pre theatre meal.
I booked at chop shop as a pre-theatre meal for my boyfriend’s birthday. The staff were just the right amount of attentive without it being intrusive, the food was delicious and cooked to order. I highly recommend the wings! We used the express menu which made for better value, only paying £1 more than the cost of a main for a starter thrown in! The staff brought out a complimentary pudding with a candle when we asked for the bill, which was a nice touch. All service is included in the bill but they definitely earned it! Highly recommended!
Tourist trap, poor food and wine overpriced. Best try somewhere else.
I saw a picture on Instagram that I couldn't resist. It was the rib steak. Luckily, my friend and I were headed to London so I made a reservation. Chop Shop did not disappoint. I can recommend the rib steak, filet, Nonna's Meatballs and the gem salad. Two weeks later after a plane delay in India, I spent the night in London due to overnight connection. Where did I head to? Chop Shop! The burger and fries were deeeeelish. Shared Nonna's meatballs and the gem salad with my colleague. So worth the drive from our Heathrow hotel. Chop Shop, you are on my rotation. I'll stop in whenever visiting or a long layover.
Excellent and attentive staff, friendly atmosphere and good food
Excellent food and service. Next to Her Majestys theatre. Excellent for pre or post meal. Great beers and cocktails. Meats are beyond superb.
Attentive and friendly service, last minute booking and we were pleasantly surprised. Try the brownie sundae!
Pre-theatre menu was good value but don’t get the chips which are a rip-off at £4 per small pot. Atmosphere is quieter in the basement which is nice for a special occasion, but staff mixed up our starters and forgot to bring over condiments, and then got a extremely surly when we reduced the service charge we wanted to give.
The Chop Shop is ideally situated in The Haymarket and ideal for a pre theatre lunch or dinner. The Barnsley chop was delicious - a substantial cut of meat - and cooked to suit my taste. The side dishes were also a good serving, and the sauces were full flavoured and suited the cuts of meat available. The Bernaise was buttery and the salsa verde sharp and punchy. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant, keeping an eye on when to refill glasses or the water bottle. I would go again.
Food was ok. Staff friendly. Beer wasn't cold . My daughter was offered pink lemonade but it was rose lemonade so a totally different taste ! Starters were really good
We went before theatre. Nice atmosphere and good service . Had a great pre theatre 3 course meal deal
The Chop Shop has great food. It's located in the West End Theatre district. I had the salad of the day and the market fish. The service was good leaving plenty of time to get to my Southbank show!
Super tasty steaks! We all loved the food!! Will definitely return
