Server was so great. Owner very very nice.
When we arrived music too loud and club like for few people and 5:30 pm. Music got louder so as more people arrived everyone talking louder. Very very uncomfortable noise level and potentially such a lovely Asian place.
The spicy ramen was flavorful but not too spicy. However, the pan fried noodle with seafood that my wife ordered was not good. The noodles were chewy and the sauce was watery and too salty.
The restaurant was only half full but we got the worse table that near the restroom entrance even with reservation.
Ramen was really bad ( bad enough to return it with one taste out of it). Manager told us she was sorry about our “mishap” but then did not remove item from check. When asked she told us she applied a 20% discount. We had to explicitly request her to remove it from our check after getting approval from the owner. Disappointing food and management.
Very fine experience. Dishes are imaginative and very nicely presented.
Service was helpful and very well informed.
We will be back soon.
Food was ok... starters were good, the beef special was not that great .. beef was a bit stringy / fatty (maybe thats how its meant to be, i found it unappetizing), lettuce leaf wraps were limp and unwashed (muddy) .. were replaced immediately, but ... shouldn’t have to ask. My wife enjoyed her Ramen w/ lobster, had quite a bit of lobster in it, not gourmet but she liked it. Service was excellent / drinks all good etc ... maybe I just had bad luck, we will try it again.
Interesting menu selections and fun cocktails! We enjoyed the long beans, duck dumplings and bulgogi!
Hip vibe, great food, excellent service. Fun downtown spot!
Good food, nice location and ambiance. Waiter was awesome, but it took a while to get our food
Creative twist on classic ramen. Noodles were delicious and presentation was lovely but what really made the bowl pop was the broth. It has a richness that is incomparable. Sakerita was also creative and delicious. Just wish I lived closer so I could get there more often!
Boulder's competitive restaurant scene has another serious player here! Green papaya salad, pork-belly bao, the ramen... oh my... everything was just perfect and so tasty! Our server, Donovan, was super friendly, and one owner was running the front of the house while the other was in the kitchen making our dinner. Everyone came by to say hi and ask if everything was OK. Great meal. Great service. Great experience.
My wife and I had a great time. Julia, our waitress, was very helpful and friendly; she arranged to bring us a string of small plates, each of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was delicious, and the bao truly outstanding.
Loved it !
We really enjoyed our meal and will return - very tasty and creative food
Chimera has amazing ramen! The wait staff was attentive, and the food came out quickly.
Ramen had absolutely no flavor and noodles weren’t cooked well. Waitress kept disappearing and we never got the two appetizers we ordered
Great ramen and apps. We tried it for a fun date night and it has a nice mix of a fun counter/ bar area and quieter tables. The bao were great to start, I had a soft shell crab one which was a nice twist. Got the spicy red ramen and it was rich, good for a cool night, will try the chimera next time.
The pork belly boa was outstanding as was the duck dumplings. The chimera ramen was beautiful to look at tasty and a large portion
Great restaurant and atmosphere. Food was delicious.
We've known about Zoe Ma Ma located next door for a long time and have always been a great fan. When I heard Edwin was opening up Chimera and focusing on handmade noodles, we jumped at the chance to try it out. It didn't disappoint - well executed dishes and apps. with fresh and pure ingredients. The stir-fried long beans are a great starter with some nice heat. The ramens are all fabulous with terrific noodles and broth with a very nice and satisfying depth.
Delicious spicy ramen and spicy papaya salad! Friendly wait staff!!
We enjoyed it. The artistry and display of entry’s were impressive. Thank you!
Delicious! Friendly, knowledgable, and helpful staff.
i can't get enough of Chimera! it is amazing in every respect!! love love chimera!
Disappointing. Very limited menu. Best dish was the simplest, smashed cucumber. Chow Fun too much like the ordinary Chinese restaurant version. Vegetarian ramen likewise very plain. Hamachi crudo very tasty, very small plate. Green beans weak and wiry, not one of the better versions. Wish the experience had been more positive.
I had walked by this restaurant several times and then at a friend's suggestion we ate there. I will be back to try every ramen bowl they serve. The staff was friendly and helpful and the chef came out to check on us. Amazing food.
We hit early, so didn't feel rushed, food was very good, had the Chimera ramen bowl, and a saki cocktail that was very nice. The Shanghai Xiao Long Bao was our starter and it was good, though I didn't get the "soup" part, and they were a bit hard to eat (maybe it should have been 1 big bite). Would definitely recommend and will go back.
We've been looking for a new ramen spot in Boulder, and this was definitely it! Great food and sake. We all ordered the Chimera ramen and love it. Also had some buns to start of course (duck and crab) - both were fantastic. A little noisy, but fun atmosphere and good location on the mall.
Excellent. This was my 3rd visit to Chimera. The ramen is quickly becoming my go-to comfort food.
We had several appetizers beforehand and each were wonderful too. The poke, the bao, the dumplings. All great! I look forward to my next meal here. It will be soon.
Had a great time. Super vibe and lively atmosphere. Great tunes too. Food on point. We will be back.
Chimera is an excellent spot for legitimate ramen. They make their own noodles and broth. So if you can't jet over to Tokyo for the day, Chimera isn't a bad second!
Beautiful space but very ordinary food at pretty steep prices and small portions. Service very, very slow for a Tuesday evening.
The service was very good. It was too loud when we arrived yet they were happy to accommodate us by turning down the music. The beef dish we had was covered with a too sweet goopy sauce And the rest of the food was nothing special. But I do like the restaurant and I ambiance and the service
Delish!! I failed to mention I needed gluten free noodles (which I was sad to make the change because their house made noodles look incredible!!!) upon ordering. They were accommodating without question to make the change after they brought my bowl to me. Great service, great food, solid restaurant experience!!
The spicy red ramen was neither red nor spicy. It was incredibly bland and contained very little chicken. I'll go all the way to Menya in Denver from now on. Service was great but the food just doesn't cut it.
Meh.... ordered the mai tai. Unlike any mai tai I’ve had. If they wanted to change it up so much, I’d suggest renaming it. I was not asked if I wanted something else.
Ramen was ok at best. Noodles were tough and tasted like shoestrings. Chicken pieces were sparse and fatty. I left hungry.
My friend got the lobster ramen, which we were told had an entire lobster tail for $25. It had maybe 3 or 4 ounces of lobster.
The best thing about this place was our waiter. He was very busy and still took great care of us. That said, the ramen broth was really bland and disappointing...not awful, just not great.
Food was great, menu was simple, it was exactly what we were looking for on a cold night. Friendly staff, great location, all in all a nice meal out. Nothing special or fancy about it, we got a couple of ramen bowls and the bbq plate.
Lovely restaurant just off Pearl Street Mall, not too small, not too big. We come often and enjoy the delicious ramen. The Lobster Ramen is a favorite along with the Spicy Edamame. The servers are polite, often get busy, but flag down easily.
We went o Chiamera with our two children (7&9). The menu is limited for younger-gluten free- eaters. The server didn't bother to mention the dish we ordered was spicy (Even after we dismissed several items because of the spice). Too bad she didn't pick up on the fact, and suggest that the entire be ordered with less spice...My husband and I both ordered Ramen=delicious, but served less than room temp. $120 and hungry kids later, we likely won't go back.
best date i’ve been on in a while.
