   The food was overpriced, especially given the quality. Was really disappointed. Service was great, though, but not great enough for me to recommend this place to anyone.

   I don’t think Nancy silver ton can cook something I won’t like . She takes very simple recipes (just like Italy) but uses very fresh high quality ingredients that just taste amazing .

   We went here for our wedding anniversary dinner. We were the first customers to arrive after they opened so it was nice and quiet and we got a lot of attention. (It got much louder later which bothers me in a relatively expensive restaurant but this is the style these days so no point in complaining.) We ordered the Focaccia di Recco as it was a featured item on the menu. It was only just ok. The cheese had little flavor like the mozzarella that you get at mediocre pizza places. If there was olive oil, it didn't register. Overall it was bland and blah. For our firsts, I had English Pea & Fava Bean Salad. That turned out to be the best dish of the evening for me. It was perfectly dressed and the mint made all the difference. A great dish. My wife had the Spacca Caesar Salad. She liked it a lot. I tried it and liked it too though my salad was better. For my main dish, I had the Shepherd's Pie. Perhaps I should have chosen better. It was small. The mashed potatoes on top were dull. They should have crisped the top but didn't. The insides were beef but very little in the way of vegetables or spices and it was a bit too salty. My wife had the Grilled Octopus which she said was ok but that she had had better elsewhere. We expected more.

    Overall, definitely one of the best restaurants in LA! Gracious service, a bit too smoky inside. Food wise, loved the flavor packed gem salad, filling, but not heavy potato & caramelized onion pie, light & crunchy snap peas w yogurt sauce. Octopus and calamari 👌🏼 The famous focaccia with aged mozzarella was very oily and the short ribs had more fat than meat. Gelato & sorbet were excellent (although, in US, all desserts are made excessively sweet compared to European).

    I really liked the atmosphere and food. When it comes to value however, I think the prices are not justified. Although the food quality was good, if you charge $16 for a side of broccoli, it needs to be extraordinary.

    Excellence in all respects. Every course was perfect. Squash blossoms to start were delicate with a fabulous romesco sauce. Octopus was tender and incredible. Lamb sausage with onions and peppers right out of the Mediterranean. Desert was a creative whole apple baked on a decadent butter pastry. All beautiful, all consistently excellent. Two notes on the room. This is a very small restaurant and at times was very loud. The decibel level seemed to change as the tables rotated. And the room was cool to cold. Probably a result of the open wood fire making it difficult to balance temperature. However, we felt this held it’s own with some of the best restaurants we have enjoyed. Going back? Yes, first chance!

    We had an enjoyable time for dinner before the theater. Great location! 10 min to theater. Valet and street parking available. Quaint inside, wood tables, wine bottles and wood burning oven.....smells amazing. Focaccia bread is yummy to start. Would be perfect for special occasion.

    Chi SPACCA was AWESOME! A definite MUST for all meat-loving carnivores!! The focaccia bread, the pot pies, and the steaks were phenomenal. We finished with Apple Pie with ice cream which was phenomenal, too- overall amazing dinner! A foodie heaven!!
