Bruce Poole and Nigel Platts-Martin opened Chez Bruce in 1995. From the outset, it was their intention to serve the very best food and drink but within a relaxed, informal yet thoroughly professionally orchestrated environment.
At Chez Bruce we are not particularly into gadgets and tricks in the kitchen. Home-made charcuterie, slow cooked braises, offal, warm and cold salads, classical desserts and bread-making could be listed as specialities. We also take the cheese board very seriously indeed and it forms an integral part of the restaurant's day-to-day life.
The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant's wine list which truly is one of the very best in the UK.

Excellent way to start the weekend! We are lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep, who needs The WestEnd when we have this gem around the corner.

The food, ambience and value for money were excellent as usual. Unfortunately they over charged us for the meal. However, they realised this afterwards and refunded us which was good. Would have been 10/10 but for the overcharge.

Another great afternoon at Chez Bruce, Four people with four different starters , four different mains and four different sweets. All were highly rated. Passed the days menu on to friends who now wish to go there.

This was quite simply an amazing lunch to celebrate my wifes' 40th Birthday. Her parents have said that it is right up there with the places they have ever dined. Staff were wonderful and the food superb. We certainly didn't need to eat again in the evening...... Oh and the cheese trolley is a must!

Always a pleasure to dine at a local restaurant. The reception at front door was excellent, which always means that we were going to have a good experience.
