Chandler's wine list has changed from the "old days" when Rex first opened his Boise flagship steakhouse. Generally speaking, wine-by-the-bottle prices are out of sight now, most bottles being priced at several hundred dollars. I do not know who would be buying these wines in Boise, Idaho. It was hard to find a bottle of wine for under $100. No real "values" that I could see. My guess is that this wine list is catering to diners who have a business expense account and are not very price-sensitive (and who have no budget or limit on what they can spend). if you want a competitive steakhouse with more down-to-earth wine prices, try Ruth's Chris. Downside is that Ruth Chris does not feature live music. But it is easier to carry on a conversation there.

There is just nowhere in Boise quite like Chandlers. We are so lucky to have a restaurant that is so consistent in quality -- food, service and atmosphere.

The food is consistently excellent and that is the main reason Chandlers remains our favorite Boise restaurant! The staff is extremely professional and they take great pride in the service they provide and the food they serve. The ambiance is intimate and private compared to so many other restaurants. We especially enjoy the piano music as it sets a lovely mood without overpowering the conversation at our table. We always look forward to our Chandlers dinners, and it is the first place we take our guests when they come to town.

Erik provided excellent assistance with our orders and we enjoyed a wonderful evening from the abalone appetizer to the scallops and ribeye and finished with the signature Chocolate Souffle. Thank you!

I traveled from NW Montana just so I could eat here for my birthday dinner. It was worth it and here’s why: - Belvedere martini was silky smooth and very cold. - Crab cakes were all lump meat, no filler. - Bread basket was warm and butter was soft - Limousine salad had an amazing, yet light Roquefort dressing. - Filet Mignon was cooked exactly as requested, so tender I probably could have cut it with a fork. - I ordered one Scallop to accompany my filet, and was so good with the perfect texture that I was sad when I swallowed my last bite. It was a busy Thursday night, but I could easily converse with my guest without yelling, and the subtle piano in the background was lovely. I never once felt like I was being rushed through my dinner. I’ll travel here again next year for my birthday, unless I can figure a way to get back sooner.

The food was great,, the band on the other hand was extremely loud…couldn’t even hear myself think. I was wanting out of there as soon as they handed us the check.. major headache

Oh no! Tuesday nights we have a trio that play and they are truly talented musicians. We do keep an ear on the volume (the musicians themselves can not “hear” it, but yes, we do!). I am sorry to learn it was too loud, and we are happy to adjust accordingly, which may mean moving your table too…..as we do have private, more quieter dining rooms, away from the music. Always our favorite place for great food..but steak of course. Top professional, well trained staff which I appreciate so much after so many restaurants have lower level help. It feels special to spend an evening dining at Chandlers 💕
