Born in 2013 out of local San Diego Farmers Markets; we graduated into our first shop in North Park in 2015. We are now moving into a beautiful space in Old Town, San Diego. We bring Truly Local San Diego caught seafood with a progressive Mexican menu based on seasonality.

Ceviche is quite good and some dishes are really gutsy. Tuna, crab, yellowtail, rockfish. Grilled octopus was delicious. Decor could use a refresh and service was kind and attentive but needed reminders on water, check.

Food was good, but relied a bit too much on spicy heat for flavor rather than a balance of the rest of the ingredients. Had really high hopes for the Crab al Pastor. While good, it had so much achiote chile you couldn't really taste the crab. It could have been any meat at that point. Hope the chef can refine the recipes to rely bring out the flavor of the seafood.

My friend and I had an excellent meal at Ceviche House. The restaurant was very quiet the night we were there, but there were very few customers, so don't know what it would be like on an ordinary night. We had guacamole, which was delicious, and tostadas which were good but nothing special. Also split an Ensenada Ceviche which was fresh and quite good. Our waitress was excellent, and the service very attentive. A nice change from most of the restaurants in Old Town. Very impressed that they serve only sustainable, wild caught fish, so everything is very healthy.
