Cesarina is a favorite restaurant of mine. I take all my guests here when they are in town.
Great service and food! For some reason the appointment was canceled via open table but they were so kind finding a table for us and kept checking on us while we were waiting to make sure we are ok . Love the food and everything! Highly recommended to everyone and hope to dine again next time when we are back to SD:-)
The Food is outstanding and plentiful BUT our server Maria was even better: Efficient, knowledgeable, courteous and very nice, she attended not only us but all of her tables with ease.
Meatballs are a MUST.
All the pasta we sampled was fresh and on point.
Be aware: Parking can be difficult.
As a party of 4, two had lasagna, one had ravioli with pesto and one had ravioli with tomato sauce. All dishes were outstanding. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the service, the ambiance and the food. It was the most satisfying experience! This is definitely a “go to” place from now one!
Great wine and food. Server made excellent recommendations. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Excellent food and delightful server! Tiramisu was amazing!
One of our favorite Italian spots! Excited for them to start opening up more tables
We had dinner there @8:15 Wednesday The food was a 10 out of 10
Our server Brooklyn was terrible. We felt completely ignored. My wife did not enjoy her wine and didn’t even drink it. He never asked if she liked it or not. The other staff members were excellent at what was asked of them. They fixed the table, which was unbalanced and brought the food when it was hot and cleared the plates quickly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant based on the food alone. It was very authentic Italian and the portions were more than sufficient for the price. Just don’t sit in Brooklyn’s section.
super charming, great atmosphere. they've really made the most of the outdoor pop up space. food is excellent as always
We've enjoyed many Italian restaurants in multiple cities. NONE compare to Cesarina. The house-baked breads, Caprese, Pasta alla Norma and Cannoli were especially fabulous. Our server, Brooklyn, was personable, attentive and knowledgable. Everything I could have wanted in a perfect evening
It’s always a pleasure coming back to Cesarina and having yet another true Italian dining experience. Their food is authentic, delicious, fresh, organic, home made and serving always generous portions.
Today I had the special of the day, an octopus ragout, and it was very good. My husband had the short rib pasta dish that he loves so much. He’s craving it when we don’t go! We started with their amazing heirloom tomato burrata that makes you lick your fingers!
We’ll be back on Sunday night with other friends that we want to experience this Italian Culinary Corner of San Diego.
Delicious appetizers! Fresh and delicious pasta! The pesto alla Genovese sauce is incredible! Everything from service to food is 100% outstanding.
It was a birthday for my wife. This is her favorite restaurant and has been unable to go for 15 months due to the pandemic.
The host did not care that it was her birthday when mentioned. He couldn’t be bothered to feign that he cared. We were seated at a table with both wine glasses and water glasses cloudy with water spots and one of them had orange food or pulp stuck to it.
Our server always seemed to be walking backward while we were talking to him as if he had somewhere else to be. He also did a poor job of feigning appreciation that my wife chose Cesarina for her special day. I am sure they probably hear it several times a week but an acknowledgement beyond “we are going to need a candle for table 9” is generally expected.
The food was ok. At least it wasn’t too overpriced, but the experience was a let down and the service fell short.
Amazing service! Food is out of this world. Love being able to see pasta being made fresh!
Amazing location with a cute outdoor heated patio! Server was very welcoming and friendly!
Antipasto with salumi olives etc was well presented and delicious!
Pasta allo scoglio was extremely authentic!
Food is amazing!! Ambience is fantastic!! A Must!!
Great little gem, food was delicious, service impeccable. Can’t wait to go back!
Incredibly good octopus, the tomato Burrata was, fantastic, Maincourse spaghetti with Seafood was outstanding, service excellence, one choice robust and reasonably priced Highly recommended
Great every time food and service
We all loved their appetizers, the Cesarina salad with lemon dressing, pasta dishes and very tasty salmon dinner!!
A little bit of magic for a celebratory night on Point Loma! Food was fresh, delicious!
It was awesome service and spectacular food! We couldn’t be more pleased!
My friend and I got together for dinner after several long months of covid. We had an absolutely fabulous time at Cesarina. The food, service and ambiance was perfect!!!
Ambience could be better in the outside seating in the back parking lot. They were very busy on mother's day so the service was a bit spotty. The food was fantastic.
The parking was a mystery. Your text beforehand stated you had 6 or 9 parking solace’s yet when I got there...ALL but 3 spaces in the entire area were for Lucadia pizza! What’s up with that?
You are wonderfully tasty, tho...and I will come back again and again...and your service is awesome!
Best Italian restaurant in all of San Diego County. Home made pasta, fresh seasonal specialties and sauces. Very nice reasonably priced wine list. my favorite place for a special occasion.
Mothers Day brunch. Everything was outstanding!
Great experience and amazing food. Staff was great, knowledgeable and helped us decide what we wanted! Food was so so good!!!!!!!!! We will def be back
Been here a dozen times, but never before for Brunch. It was AMAZING. All 5 of us ordered something different and all 5 dishes were fantastic. This was already my favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego and it is now also my favorite brunch place too. Service was perfect as usual and we can't wait to return.
It was a great experience all around. We will be back.
Amazing. Will be going back soon!
Food was great and the service was even better. I got the Pomodoro Fresco but had to take a to-go box because I could not stop eating the free bread before my pasta got to the table. I can’t wait to come back.
Food was excellent as always! The atmosphere was little loud - we ended up at a table right along the street - but the food really makes up for almost everything else. Will definitely be back!
Our reservation was 9:15 they made us wait around 10-15min. When the waitress came she said that we had to order because kitchen was closed??!! Si es ordered appetizer and we haven’t finish our appetizer when our dinner was served They shouldn’t make reservations to close to closing time.
This happened to my daughter too. She had a reservation 2:45 she called to let them now she was 10 min late they didn’t answer and we she got there they said they closed at 3 and couldn’t serve her until 4, they should have called !!! And she did. They didn’t answer. So why make a reservation so close to closing time?? If you are going to rush your clients??
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Cannot wait to go back and bring friends!
Cesarina was so kind to me and my friends. Food was great and service was superb! Shout out to Andrea!
I have been to Cesarina multiple times. The food has always been delicious. During my last visit, several issues have caused me to be hesitant about going there again, especially for a special occasion. I confirmed my reservation by phone the afternoon of my visit and mentioned that we would like to sit in the front outside area, near the sidewalk, explaining that it is quiet and cozy (as opposed to their back parking lot seating) as we were celebrating a special birthday. The hostess confirmed my seating, and assured me that a table would reserved in that section. Upon my arrival, the hostesses standing around, could not decide who would seat my party, then led us to the....wait for it... back parking lot seating, right next to the the servers station. Because I did not want a negative start to the celebratory evening, I did not request a table change in case there would be a wait (I also noticed the front section was already full). I ordered what I thought was a red wine which I enjoyed immensely during my last visit. It was a very expensive Italian wine. During our first sips, I noticed this was not the same wine, it was harsh and not enjoyable for our palate. I happened to have a picture of the label from the original wine and asked the waiter if by chance they had the preferred winery. The waiter then briskly ripped away our glasses and the almost full bottle of wine and said he would check. When he came back, he threw the wine menu on the table and barked that I needed to pick another, waived his hand and walked away. We did quickly (maybe out of fear). Our dinners were then served about 10 minutes later. Does this seem fast? It was. And our appetizer never came. Our waiter said he would check, but no apologies. Then he looked at our wine glasses, shook his head and asked my why I would pick a wine that I did not want and walked away, annoyed. I was speechless. Appetizer showed, no charge. No warm, gracious send off with the check, but are you surprised?
Servers were great. Attentive and on top of everything! Food was so delicious!!
