Cesarina is a grandmother, a mother, a daughter—our personification of a nurturer who feeds and cares for her community. From the meticulous attention to detail and fresh ingredients to the warm and inviting atmosphere, this restaurant is a celebration of the power of food and family.
Had the wild boar rigatoni! Delicious, but ALL of their food is. The staff here is family and they are some of the most wonderful hosts you could imagine. You literally want them to sit down and have a meal with you. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.
Best restaurant in town!:) love the service, food and vibe!
Amazing service and food! Couldn’t have asked for anything better and Danielle went above and beyond 😁
The food was good, I'm still finding my favorite. Our waiter was a less than attentive. The other staff was helpful but our drinks ran empty. Dessert was wonderful! Just remember to leave some room.
I always love my dinners here, which is why I chose it as my first restaurant to visit after the shut down. It didn’t disappoint!
This restaurant is nothing short of amazing!!!! Very kind, courteous and happy staff, the most incredible food and atmosphere. We enjoyed EVERYTHING!!!!! Thank you, we will be back
We had a fantastic time at Cesarina, the service was perfect and super friendly, safe social distancing accommodation to relax with your party, and the food was absolutely delicious! We loved the prosciutto raviolis and the sea bass. Can't wait to come back!
This restaurant is fantastic! We had the lasagna (the best I’ve ever had) and pappardelle with mushrooms. It’s really quiet now with many tables removed (I’m not sure what it was like before) and was such a nice first date how from months of shelling at home. And the waiters have the chicest masks!
Best Italian food in San Diego
Incredible restaurant. Incredible food. Incredible service. All around excellent.
As good an Italian restaurant as any of the many we've eaten in in Italy on past travels. Authentic Italian food and Italian servers - very professional, attentive and kind. Reasonably priced and reasonable corkage fee ($15). An absolute delight that will have us back there with regularity.
Maybe our favorite restaurant. We went for my wife's B-Day, and will probably go back for mine in about 10 days. Can't wait for the masks to be a thing of the past. For us and the staff. But they have nothing to do with that. Food was out of this world good.
I love the food and the people. Best Italian food in San Diego and may be best food in San Diego. Do yourself a favor and get in as soon as you can. My number 1 recommended place to friends.
I loved that this place allows dogs on their outside patio and that they have an absolutely vegan portion of their regular menu! The waitress was very attentive too. I’ll be back!
Best food and best service in all of San Diego. Not just the best Italian restaurant in San Diego, it's the best restaurant in San Diego, period.
Amazing food, ambiance and service. My wife and I love this place
Great! From start to finish!! Food and service were amazing! Cant wait to come back!
What a great way to celebrate being back in a restaurant! Well done to Cesarina. Making everyone feel welcomed and safe. It was a pleasure being with you and enjoying your amazing food. Che Buona Sera! Grazie!
Incredible authentic food, personal service, exceptional specials! Review coming from a true Italian born in Italy!
I had an amazing birthday celebration at Cesarina - I am so happy it had re-opened for dining just before my birthday this week. From the atmosphere to the excellent service (thank you, Tommy, and all the singers for my birthday!), to the delicious pastas, I had the best birthday experience. My husband, daughter and I are vegan as well, which is how we found Cesarina, because they have an extensive vegan menu, alongside their more general menu. As an Italian by background, it is especially a delight and breath of fresh air to find an italian restaurant that goes the extra mile to make HOMEMADE VEGAN PASTAS, and have specially crafted vegan dishes, not dishes that have to be changed to become vegan, or vegan afterthought dishes. Even the papardelle and gnocci were vegan. And they brought me a vegan tiramisu for dessert. Molte grazie!
In love with this place. Everything is perfect. From the beginning to the end.
Always great! So glad they've survived! They are doing everything right. Can't wait to go back again. But if you're not comfortable going to a restaurant yet, their take-out food is the best!
My boyfriend has no dietary restrictions and I have a ton. We finally found an Italian restaurant where we would BOTH rate the food as 5 stars. There are a ton of vegan and gluten free options on the menu as well as a ton of options for the traditional Italian food lover. The food was super tasty, the vegan gelato dessert was perfect for sharing and enjoyable for even a non -vegan eater. The service was top notch and I felt super safe being 6 feet apart from other guests. I will definitely be returning!
Cesarina has done an excellent job adhering to Co-Vid protocol. Service was terrific, food was delicious!
Champagne mules, polpo zucca & patate and fiori di zucca to start. Followed by spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli with fresh bolognese sauce, puttanesca, beef, prosciutto and ricotta ravioli and ndunderi and for dessert tiramisu. Thank you to our amazing server Chris for the best service and sense of humor.
Our first meal out in 10 weeks and it was exceptional. 5 of us. They made us feel safe and not sterile. Tables well spaced, but is was nice to have the ambiance of a “full” restaurant. We had the zucchini flowers and octopus apps - both very good. My only issue was there was only 1 tentacle
Of the octopus, which for the price m, seems light. For entrees, we had the risotto, lasagna, and salmon. Everyone is said their entrees wee excellent. Then we had 4 desserts - they can’t make them tableside like they used to but the cheesecake - excellent and huge portion. The tiramisu and rum cake, very good and all
Very different than other restaurants. The service was attentive without being overbearing.
This is a special restaurant in. San Diego.
This place is the perfect Italian food experience, with it’s fun and romantic atmosphere, a beautiful patio, and outstanding food! The pasta couldn’t be better and I recommend the créeme brûlée cheesecake! The staff is exceptional and provide excellent service!
We’ve been waiting for the restaurants to open. And it was meant to be that our favorite restaurant Caesarina was opened. We walked in with masks on, seated at our table and masks off! Had an amazing dinner. The food and service is impeccable as usual. So glad we were able to get out and enjoy a wonderful evening. We’ll be back soon!
We were thrilled that one of our favorite restaurants had opened back up for dine in service. We love Cesarina! Everything was so tasty!
Amazing Italian cuisine. My wife and have been to Italy several times and this food brought memories back to when we were in Italy.
Our first meal out post-quarantine & enjoyed every minute of it! Left feeling safe & satisfied :) Thank you!!!
Service was impeccable and every entree was made with fresh ingredients. The pasta was amazing and the texture of the risotto was perfect. The house made tiramisu was probably the best I’ve ever had. Well done Cesarina. We will be back!
Amazing food and perfect service. Quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in San Diego.
As always the entire experience was excellent. Great food, great service, lovely ambience.
It was awesome! Food was AMAZING and service was awesome! They also had a ton of specials and new menu items varying by the day. Definitely going here again!
Food was excellent and the place was adorable. Can't wait to go back!
A wonderful, true Italian neighborhood restaurant. “Everybody knows your name.”
My roommate and I went to Cesarina as she hasn’t stopped talking about it since the first time she went. I needed to see what the hype was about. Our energetic, attentive and informative server Tommy greeted us at the bar. As he walked us through the menu there wasn’t an item that I wouldn’t order. We started off simple with house made focaccia bread with EVOO and balsamic, a side of the meatballs and a bottle of red. For our main we split the short rib pappardelle. Pasta was al dente and the short rib was shredded and savory. Passed on dessert and it’s my only regret of the evening. The atmosphere was fun and friendly and the food did not disappoint.
Fantastic personable experience with extremely fresh and tasty pasta. Lucky to have such a place in Point Loma. We will be back again.
We had five for a Birthday Dinner. The Experience was weak. It is terribly loud, something that could be mitigated with wall hangings. The low point was when the ordered soup was served cold, not cool, but stone cold. There is a real problem in the kitchen/wait staff interaction if this happens. It put a chill on the whole dinner. Not a Happy Camper.
