Cedar Creek Inn - Brea Ratings and Reviews
This was without a doubt the BEST Prime Rib I have had - anywhere! My wife's halibut was equally perfection. Our server, Beth was outstanding. She was extremely busy, but never did we have to flag her down. I will definitely ask for her again the next time. Great food and service!!!
Six of us dined here on a Saturday night. Our table was ready when we arrived. We informed our waiter that we had tickets to a play that evening, and he and his trainee ensured we had prompt service. I shared the rack of lamb with a friend, and there was ample food to enjoy. The lamb was delicious and prepared as requested. We found the service and ambiance to be delightful. There were ample wines by the glass to choose from, as well. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.
Last night was not the first time I have visited Cedar Creek. And once again, I was thoroughly impressed with everything about the restaurant. The waiter was charming and very attentive but not annoyingly so. The food (filet mignon and braised short ribs) was perfection. And as this was a birthday celebration Cedar Creek provided a special dessert with a candle. I recommend the restaurant for any occasion...you will not be disappointed.
I am a fan of Cedar Creek. Some changes since the ownership changed as far as the portion sizes and price increase. Overall a good value. The food is amazing and I hope the new owners keep it that way. The service on this visit was poor. That is not typical.
This is our favorite place for special occasions in the dining room and date night on the patio. While there are no big surprises in the menu, we know that we can count on a variety of favorites from the original salads to the tender New York steaks. We love the front patio where you can enjoy the live music along with generous sized appetizers. The contemporary ballads and piano accompaniment is perfect for an adult audience. It really adds the right ambience for a glass of wine and conversation. I don’t remember ever being disappointed with the service. The waiters and servers are friendly and helpful - never pushy or rude. We would recommend Cedar Creek wholeheartedly
This restaurant was overly rated w 4 stars in Yelp. When my family went for dinner, the server was incoherent and her attitude was not friendly or helpful to us. We couldn’t hear or understand the specials of the day. We also felt like we are being rushed to order, eat and pay. When my husband asked her what their specialty was...she recommended the 3 most expensive dishes. One of them was the Prime Rib and my husband believed her but when his order arrived, it was tasteless! When my husband asked for extra au jous sauce she brought out a cold one. Even my son noticed and said the restaurant’s service sucks! We will never return back to this Restaurant with this experience.
The filet was cooked perfectly, but no sauces were offered, not au-jus, not horse radish, not béarnaise, not anything. Very disappointing. The New England potato chowder was also good with its use of clam juice, but disappointing for not having actual clams in it. You need to send your chef to Boston for a few days to find out how to make real chowder. The red wine was not delivered until most of the steak was already gone.
Finally, my wife got very sick afterwards. The only difference in our meals was she had the Caesar salad, while I had the soup. I was not sick.
I left a 7% tip as a result of the overall service.
For the price the service could of been better. The main entry arrived before our salad was clear. The bus boy was not very friendly. I had to ask twice for another glass of wine. These things should not of happened for a $36.00 entry. Probably will not go back.
I am writing this review as a tribute to our waitress, Beth. Her patience with us as we were more focused on business than on ordering was fantastic. Her attention to both our food, and even more astonishingly, to our beverages was greatly appreciated. I don't think that my client's cup of coffee was ever allowed to get to any temperature other than hot, perfect. I commented to Beth that she must be a coffee drinker herself. All of this may seem a bit trite, but not to me. Thank you Beth!
Went to Cedar Creek Brea for lunch with my husband and, as always, the service, food and ambiance were excellent. Love this restaurant. Particularly notable is the calimari appetizer which is the best I’ve had anywhere and the portion is large enough to substitute for a meal!
I HADN'T BEEN TO THE CEDAR CREEK INN FOR ABOUT A YEAR. TWO OF US HAD EATEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES, AND TWO HAD NEVER BEEN. TWO OF US HAD THE MONTE CRISTO, AND ANOTHER FRIEND HAD THE CRAB CAKES. WE LIKED OUR FOOD. ONE PERSON ORDERED THE PAPYA CHICKEN WHICH IS A FAVORITE, BUT FOUND IT DISAPPOINTING. SHE SAID THAT THERE WAS TOO MUCH PAPRIKA, AND THE PAPYA FLESH WAS NONEXISTENT. WE ORDERED THE CREM BRULE. THE SUGAR WAS BURNED AND WE COMPLAINED. THEY OFFERED A REPLACEMENT BUT WE REFUSED, SO THEY TOOK IT OFF THE BILL WHICH WE PROTESTED. WE LEFT A GENEROUS TIP. THE OVER-ALL EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO A RETURN VISIT.
We love Cedar Creek and will definitely return. This visit was not the best. We had cocktails, appetizers and then dinner. My steak was very tough and the waiter offered to return it to the kitchen. Then the manager came over, didn't introduce herself, and interrogated me about why I returned my steak. That was very uncomfortable and it but a damper on the evening. Despite this, we went into the bar, had dessert and listed to the jazz combo. All was good. Evening saved!
Cedar Creek Inn has a varied menu suitable go all dietary needs and/or restrictions their staff is dedicated to making their patrons’ dining experience a pleasurable one. They are attentive without being pushy or hovering. It is one of my favorite restaurant for celebrating special occasions!
