Excellent menu choices. Seafood including scallops, chicken dishes, sauteed liver, and more.
Nice casual atmosphere with moderate noise level. Complimentary valet parking in a rather small lot.
Good for groups, date nights, families.
Best place in town! Always have such a fabulous time here. Food and drinks are excellent!
While the staff was as accommodating as they could be, the first table couldn't even be leveled; chairs were wet; food is less than average; very loud live music amplified. Not a good experience. Would not recommend.
It was okay. I went here years ago and thought it was so pretty, they sure haven’t kept it up. I admit the rains didn’t help the courtyard but then wet pepper mills and broken light bulbs didn’t help. Service was hit or miss two of the guys were awesome but our waitress was only okay.
This was another great dining experience at this restaurant. This occasion was on Valentine's Day evening. We were fortunate to get a reservation through Open Table that very morning. We were somewhat late to our scheduled reservation time due to traffic delays but the restaurant was very accommodating. They were offering a preset menu for Valentine's Day as well as their usual menu selections. Much to our surprise they were offering half off on all bottles of wine that is normally only available every Wednesday. Four of our table mates ordered and enjoyed the flatiron steak. Very flavorful and cooked to each diners specifics. I had their paella mixta of assorted seafood items as well as the addition of chorizo. Again very well prepared and very flavorful. My wife ordered the lamb chops and was very happy with the preparation and flavor. For dessert our friends had the chocolate stuffed churros. Very good! My wife and I had the chocolate torte. Excellent chocolate used in this dessert. We have enjoyed the restaurant on many different occasions and will continue to return in the future.
We had the scallop entree and the calves liver. Both were fantastic. For dessert we both enjoyed incredible rice pudding. The service was over the top. We can't wait to come back!
We had a great Valentine’s Day celebration.
Service and food was excellent . It’s our second time and we’ll be back!
I had the black spaghetti with shrimp....OUTSTANDING!!
We arrived at our scheduled time and those around us, who came later, were served salads and such before us. Chicken was a bit salty and breading was falling off. The sides arrived room temperature. The room was definitely LOUD to the point where we were yelling at one another to be heard. Some friends have encouraged us to try again as they love it there. We will give it a go one more time provided the tangled mess on my credit card experienced when we attempted to settle up is unraveled without a headache.
Overall, the chicken was tasty, and maybe my next time out will be for the regular menu and during the week when the noise level might be kinder to my drums.
Excellent dining experience.
Once a month chicken dinner and the other times , enjoying great tapas and diverse food ! Great!
We were two couples and each couple ordered a Filet of Sole Entree and a Paella entree to share.
We loved the Filet of Sole with the spinach. It was well seasoned, perfectly prepared and we all agreed amazing.
The Paella - one couple had the Black Paella and the other the traditional. All of us have been to Spain to eat the real deal and we all thought it was very good but not worthy of 5 stars.
The wine list was well done. We had some nice wines and enjoyed our selection of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
Our service was spot on and our waiter attentive.
We will go back again to further explore the menu. One thing that we did not like was the only parking option was to park valet.
On a recent Saturday night, we were seated at a booth near the front door. Each time someone entered or left, often holding the door open for others, we were blasted with cold air. The noise level was very high, made worse by some amplified guitarist on the patio. Waitress was pleasant and helpful, but the food server literally threw or dropped the plates on the table, with no care. Valet parking was overwhelmed when we left. Overall, Catalan was too busy, too noisy, and too insensitive for a pleasant night out.
The food was very disappointing for the price and bland.
Our waitress was fabulous!
My husband and I had a night out. It was a great evening.
I always enjoy the restaurant , the service and food are very good. I keep going back and I’ve introduced many friends to the restaurant.
Enjoyed one of our best meals during our Desert visit at Catalan. Beautiful presentation containing delicious, quality ingredients. Not all menu items are authentic Spanish but there is a good variety. Arrive before 6 for prix fix two item choice of regular menu items at a slightly reduced price. Scallops over a butternut squash purée were perfectly browned and tender, good portions especially the grilled fish. The bread brought to the table is so tasty along with accompanying pesto. Nice bar area for tapas and drinks. Our server was very accommodating and added to our enjoyable evening meal. Guitar player provides entertainment Thursdays and weekend.
Great appetizers, limited menu, but enough choices—paella on the very Smokey side—but good. Good portion size salted Carmel dessert amazing!
Love the ambiance of the restaurant. Lovely garden area to dine in with live music that serves as a background to the cool atmosphere. Will certainly go back again.
Second time we have eaten at Catalan and went before the play at CVR during their happy hour menu.
All portions were enough for each of us to take some home for the next day. Presentation was nice and
everyone enjoyed their meals, chicken, pallea, and sole. Excellent service and pricing.
Restaurant started to be to noisy for me when the music started, although the music was enjoyable.
every meal continues to impress ! new choices on menu are excellent. particularly enjoyed the two course special dinner with creamy, smoked tomato soup and rigatoni with kobe beef bolognese. nice glass of pinot grigio as well.
Five Stars - as usual!!
Everyday dining is a misnomer since a dinner at Catalan makes a regular day outstanding. No reason to stand on ceremony here. Perfect for families or after-work gatherings and the food is never a disappointment.
Wonderful meal & service
A pleasant surprise. We went for a full meal but the attentive hostess suggest we try their tapas special (all you can eat.) Great variety and each well prepared. Waiter (Cory) also added to our pleasure there.
Smart management having these wonderful people as the "face" of their operation.
Catalan for me is like being invited in a nice Barcelona home for Sunday lunch or stopping in my favorite neighborhood tapas bar in mid/late afternoon to have a bite to eat and meet friends to together chew over the news of the day. Food is great, specially the tapas, my personal favorites, the bar is superbly and professionally managed by Kory who knows just the exact way to make everyone comfortable. Evening meals accompanied by a classical guitar player who ventures from classics to contemporary tunes in a soft but inviting way, could not be better. Service is always great and the kitchen turn out those magical tapas, in case I did not say enough about tapas. Go with friends, seat at the bar, ask Kory what libations you may desire and let the tapas feast begin. Valet parking and lack of stairs or other impediments makes it easy even for those who may need a bit of assistance.
We enjoyed eating here. Food was well prepared and authentic Catalan, olives, tapas, and paella. We shall return.
Well, at first it was just a dinner date for two, and then two of my friends came for a drink and loved the atmosphere (they had live music) and saw how excited we were to try something new, so they decided to join us! However, they were supposed to meet up with two friends for dinner in Palm Springs, but we convinced them to have their friends join us too!
So, we ended up as a party of six ordering at least half of the menu to share between the six of us. We drank plenty (of Pomegranate martinis) and ate until we couldn't eat another bite and we all had the best time!
The customer service at Catalan is perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience with a menu that is simply divine!!
The items we usually get, the scallops and skirt steak with roasted peppers were outstanding as always.
One of our guests however, (a first time patron) ordered the swordfish and it was only marginal, unfortunately. It was tough, and had very little flavor. Would have been better if served with some type of sauce.
We were bummed because we told this person how much we liked the restaurant, and the first thing they tried wasn’t very good. BUT, she liked the music, and the ambience, and said next time she’ll try one of the dishes we had.
While the food is always consistently good at Catalan, the menu is ALWAYS the same -- for years. Time to make some changes.
Outstanding is the only word
Inventive Mediterranean cuisine - excellent service - always an enjoyable experience, but last visit, they were out of their Iberian ham, which we love as an appetizer - this should not happen!
Paella for two was wonderful with generous portion. Sangria also was great. Good values.
Amazing service. Appetizers outstanding. It's never a bad time for us when we come. We like the consistency
We ordered two paellas both which were very salty. Another in the party ordered the jidori chicken which was tasteless. The hostess didn’t really seem to know what to do. It wasn’t worth the price
Always delicious food and great service!
We enjoyed the paella. The fried chicken Sunday special also looked great. Many people were preserving it.
We always loved going for fried chicken. The Manager must do something about the Valet. This is the seconded time I have had a problem with him. Two of us are handicapped and must go to the handicap parking spaces.
