Food was delicious and the staff was super friendly.
We were at Catal for a late lunch. Unfortunately they were closing for a special event so some of the staff was distracted. We enjoyed our deviled eggs and bacon wrapped dates. Our chopped salad was OK. Service w/Bryant was great.
Food was well prepared and they have a varied menu. Mixed drinks were quite weak, lacking in much if any alcoholic content and pricey.
Have been here and Uva many times for lunch and dinner. Always reliable food. Had a Ceasar salad and filet that were both good
Their craft cocktails are outstanding- a great aged Mai Tai.
Our server (I think his name was Randy- he's been there since opening) was wonderful.
Great kids menu. Variety of food. The drinks took a little long but they were also good with food sensitivities.
Setting was nice. Restaurant clean food was okay. Expected more for price
It shocks me that this place had such great reviews on Yelp! Terrible service, food was mediocre (my daughter wouldn’t even eat the kids Mac n cheese) and the prices were not worth the taste. We had better service and comparable food at Mimi’s Cafe across the street for half the price! Sorry Catal you need to get it together.
The lobster paella was fantastic, as were the other dishes. Wonderful service also with Vivian. We had a patio seat overlooking the festive downtown Disney area. Lots of fun people watching. This will be our go to spot on our future Disneyland trips.
The calamari appetizer was a little small but it was good. It could have used more sauce. The turkey club and the hamburger were great lunch selections. Excellent service.
Very disappointing that many of the menu items were sold out at 8 PM on a Friday night.
My server Michael was awesome. He made our wedding anniversary a special night. The food is great and the value is awesome. We got the Paella and the rice was cooked perfectly. I would go back again.
We've been dining at Catal every time we vacation at Disneyland. Years! And ALWAYS consider Catal the very best restaurant there! Don't change a thing!!
Great food and service.
This is the only Downtown Disney dining I'd done in a long time, mostly because of so many poor-to-middling experiences in the past. Catal, though, was really nice! Great food, good cocktails and service, and a view overlooking the main thoroughfare of Downtown Disney. What's not to love?
Never got our appetizer. Took 45 monies to get our entrees. Got bread soon as food came out
Birthday dinner. It was wonderful!
Rebecca was just amazing and made us feel so so welcome, thank you for making our last meal of our trip so enjoyable! The food was the best we had had in Anaheim on our whole trip and we would strongly recommend. We sat outside on the balcony in the lovely sunshine. Paella main and ahi bruschetta starter were so so good! We travelled from the UK to Disney for 4 days, we just wished we had found this spot at the start of our trip!
Good menu, good is excellent! Service is good and the views from the outside seating area is awesome. Highly recommend for any occasion or social occasion.
The ambiance was good. Looked like a nice restaurant. Didn’t seem like an Italian restaurant though. Food was good enough but not as good as I expected. Overall, it wasn’t bad.
Food was excellent! Our waitress Grace was on top of everything. I have food allergies and she work with the chief to alter my dish and it was delicious. I would not think to go here for a hamburger, but I Son order one and it looked amazing. He loved and he told me it was along to top of choice burgers.
We went to Catal after seeing their prix fix menu on their website. We were very disappointed to discover it was no longer offered. Our server was inattentive to us as she was busy schmoosing the couple at the table next to us throughout our meal. We had to ask a runner for a bread basket as our server never offered it to us. My wine was short poured. Our entrees were good but nothing special. We had to wait 10 minutes for our server to pick up our check, all the while waiting for her to finish her chat with the other table, her back turned to us. We have always received good food and excellent service at Patina restaurants, but our experience was lacking this visit.
Downtown Disney was very crowded the night that we had reservations & parking was backed up. We were a few minutes late but they held our reservations. However half of our party was stuck trying to get into the parking lot. The waitress initially was understanding but she never came back. We were going to order everyone's entree but she never glanced at our table as she walked past. Once the other people from our party arrived, my husband told one of the staff that we were ready to order but she never came. So, we left money on the table for the drinks that we ordered & left to eat somewhere else. Food not good enough to come back for horrible service. The only good service that we received were from the gentleman who brought us our waters.
Absolutely terrible! The food quality and taste was very poor and similar to what you would find at some junky chain restaurant like Applebee’s or TGIFridays. Service was incredibly slow.
Our day started off with them setting our kids both up with broken high chairs. After that, it took food forever to even arrive. There were hardly any other patrons so I can’t even understand why it would take so long.
We ordered the calamari which was greasy and clearly fried with poor quality/old oil bc we felt so sick and weighed down from it.
I ordered the chicken and waffles which were supposedly a popular item. When the food arrived, the food was placed right in front of my infant son who naturally just goes directly for the syrup which spills everywhere. The busboy sees this, doesn’t apologize, doesn’t try to wipe it up, doesn’t say he’ll find someone to help, and just walks away. I had to just raise my voice and wave our waitress down to come over to clean up the mess. On to the food. The waffles were chewy. The chicken was dry and tasteless with the type of heavy batter that would just easily slide off the chicken. My fried egg was overdone like a greasy rubber disk. Bacon was a greasy limp mess. Yuck!
My husband’s burger was fine but they forgot the bacon he added. His burger included fries which were like giant steak fries but poorly done so they were mealy and flavorless.
After all the trouble and the poor quality, they only took $5 off the bill. Because the darn experience took so long we couldn’t do any shopping and had to rush home for our kids’ nap. Basically we drove all the way down to eat at a really junky restaurant. What a terrible start to the weekend! We will never return.
Fantastic experience and service. The managers and servers are extremely welcoming and friendly. They make you feel at home and always ask if the customers are okay or need anything. Food was terrific. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and we will definitely come back.
A perfect balance between upscale environment, food and wine list for adults ... and accommodating enough to bring three little ones post-Disney. A great find.
Food was delicious and the service was great. Perfect start for our anniversary celebration.
Jessica, our server, was wonderful. She took our queues that we were not in a rush and was attentive to us!
Definitely we will be back on our next visit.
Wonderful experience excellent service and food was very good
Great food, service and location. If you request balcony and shoot for 830-930 dinner you can watch the Disney firework while eating dessert!
Great location. Service was average. I had the paella which was bland and a disappointment.
Excellent restaurant. Such a nice treat away from the crowds. Glad we did it.
They were wonderfully accommodating for our late evening arrival. Appetizer, salas
During the madness just after the CHOC Walk, they were kind enough to change my reservation for 2, to 5 people instead. Everyone had been up since at least 3:30am and had not had a chance to eat in the last 5+ hours so we definitely appreciated the accommodation!
I went out with my friend for Dinner. The food was great. Our server was Rebecca!! She was awesome, great personality. I would go again and ask to sit in Rebecca's section.. Valarie the manager checked on us, to make sure our experience was good. Great customer service. Thank you Rebecca and Valarie.
My partner and I made reservations not knowing much about the place. The expectations we did not have were blown completely out of the water. It was so romantic. We watched the Disney fireworks show from our table on the balcony. The food was absolutely phenomenal. My partner remarked that she has realized that she has never in fact had paella before, because anything she had before was clearly not real paella. Our server, Tyler C, was exceptional in every way. He was attentive without being obtrusive. He was charming and well versed in the menu. He made excellent recommendations. The wine list included some particular favorites of mine. And the creme brûlée was perfect. There is a dearth of good creme brûlée in the world. There’s a chance I may leave my partner for theirs. It was that good. If you are considering dining here, do not hesitate. I cannot say enough good things about our experience and I cannot wait to come back
The upstairs restaurant at Catal is an island of sanity amid the craziness of Downtown Disney. The service it top-notch. Love the Manchego salad.
Staff were friendly and the food was nice but quite expensive. One of our party is celiac and the staff made a big point of being attentive to dietary needs yet immediately served up a meal containing gluten. The server was quick to realise the mistake but not before some of the meal had been consumed. Big mistake to make!!
We had in the past sat our in the plaza lounge area of this restaurant and quite enjoyed it so decided this trip to try the restaurant. Won't eat at this establishment again. Apparently they are known for their Paella. My son had the lobster one and said it was very good. Our son's girlfriend had the pork paella and said it was ok....she left 3/4 of it uneaten. My husband and I both had the Prime Rib and had the waitress of even checked on us we would have both sent it back. We did what we could to get through it. It tasted like it was boiled is the only way I can describe it - no flavour, chewy like it hadn't been cooked through. $300 for dinner for 4 with just 4 mains and a side salad, 2 drinks wasn't worth it at all. I don't mind paying good money for a good meal but this was far from good.
Cocktails were delicious! Salmon was great. My date loved the lamb chops. Waiter had a great sense of humor and made the experience great!!
