Catal is our favorite restaurant in Downtown Disney. We’ve been dining here since 2003. Our meals are always delicious. The service is always professional, courteous and efficient. Catal is a pleasant diversion from the theme parks
My husband and I just wanted some yummy appetizers for our date night!
Don’t be afraid to take the kids. Great meal after a day in the park. Good food. Good service.
Our waiter, Josh, was a riot and the Sangria was amazing!
We loved Brandon. He was amazing! One of t. Best front of house staff members I’ve come across in many years! And the manager Jennifer was very kind and accommodating. We come to Catal as tradition for our Disney vacations. Food is ever changing with seasons and fresh ingredients which we appreciate. We will continue to come to this venue for years to come with our family. Cheers!!
We love this restaurant - from the time we arrive until we depart, everyone on the staff treats us like we are VIPS. Vivian is one of the best servers who always goes above and beyond to make each visit perfect. Valerie our manager always comes by to greet us. We have a long history with Catal and continue to enjoy each meal we eat there. They were particularly accommodating today as our boarding group for Rise of the Resistance fell into the timeframe for our original reservation necessitated a delay in our dinner plans. We were so pleased that they were able to do this. We rarely have this type of conflict and know that this is an exception to our normal reservations. We like to use Open Table to book dining times here.
Our meal included the restaurant week special of Manchego salad, hanger steak and dessert plus an order of the duck breast. All were well prepared and very tasty.
After reading reviews, we were expecting a superior experience and food, however we were left wanting more. I ordered the Diver Scallops, priced at $36, while cooked perfectly, I found it over priced, as the plate only held three scallops and a few vegetables. My husband ordered the traditional paella, and again was left wanting for more. It contained three shrimp, four clams, and the rice was underdone. My children ordered the kids hangar steak (impressed that the kids menu wasn’t just grilled cheese, chicken fingers and a burger) and grilled chicken, both were a bit over cooked and on the chewy side. The service was decent and the atmosphere was pleasant, however, it is not a place I’d choose to return.
Catal made for a phenomenal date night with the spouse. Our service was fantastic, drinks and food could not have been better. Had a great talk with the manager Jennifer, which made the whole experience even better. Can not wait to be back in a few weeks to bring my in laws in.
Thebmanaher was awesome. She saw that our four year old daughter looked hungry and personally expedited her meal without our asking. Very cool.
Our family always finishes our Disneyland adventure here. With 15 family members, staff is always graciously accommodating, meeting all our various needs. Food is delicious, fresh and well presented. Look forward to retuning.
Went to celebrate our anniversary. Our server Matt recommend wonderful appetizers including the ahi bruschetta along with the shishito peppers. Which were amazing, both very flavorful. For dinner we had the traditional paella and rack of lamb. Both were delicious and would go back for more. We then finished our meal off with the caramel apple profiteroles, they were the perfect ending to our night. So glad we went with his recommendations. Will definitely be back again thank you.
This place has a great Spanish vibe and decor to match. Service is friendly and competent, as it always is at Disney. The meal it self, however, was a bit of a letdown. The paella was nicely flavored but runny with undercooked rice and missing the best part, the socarrat. Appetizers and dessert were OK, but nothing left you wishing for seconds.
Very pricey for what you get and all our food came out lukewarm.
Great evening out to dinner with friends. We had reservations but were not asked whether we wanted to sit inside or outside and at first were automatically taken to the outdoor upstairs patio. We did not want to sit outside... so had to wait for another inside table to open up! Please ask about seating options - my husband said the options never came up on Open Table. Thanks.
We love it! We eat here daily when visiting Disney!
Disappointed that we requested outside seating and called day of to verify we would be able to get the balcony. Only to be told arrival when we had no other option that they were sticking us inside. $700+ meal- think they could have been more accommodating
Overall, we had an enjoyable evening. We were a little late due to finding the new parking location for Downtown Disney visitors, but they were nice and seated us right away in a prime location. Our waitress as well as the other employees were nice and the food was delicious. The only issue we had is that we were approached 3 times with our entree even though we told them that we didn't even receive our appetizer that went with the pre-fixe meal. So, we called the supervisor to get it finally resolved because we didn't want the nice food servers to keep coming out until we were ready for our entree. As I said, our waitress was nice, but she did a poor job checking up on us to see if everything was okay. If she did her job correctly, her coworkers wouldn't have had to come out several times with the wrong food item. Nevertheless, we still had a good time.
Good food with Prix-fixe menu for Valentines Day. Portions could've been bigger, but overall delish!
This was our second time doing the Valentine price fix menu. The service is absolutely wonderful. Grace our server was on top of her game and couldn’t have asked for a better service. The food was absolutely delicious. The value seems to have diminished slightly though. Last year it was offers at $80 per person or $210 per couple that included a bottle of Coppola wine. This was absolute deal. This year it wasn’t offered, instead they just made the drink selection open. I get some people are not wine drinkers and would prefer the option for cocktails or something else. I feel they should have still offered the wine bottle deal and keep the drink options open for those that did not want the wine deal. This year the menu was offered at $85 per person. Slight increase in price but felt that the starters were scaled back a bit, and thus where the value is lost.
Nonetheless it was still an amazing experience and for that I am happy. This year the photographer skipped us and did not offer to do the photo session. We ended up buying last years photos and was a great memory to treasure.
I would still recommend this experience but if they are raising the price again, the the value needs to be upped as well.
Our Server - Mircea B. was very attentive. Made us feel very welcome. Provide us with the right amount of privacy and attentiveness. Corrected any misunderstandings immediately and made our Valentine's Day very enjoyable. We will be back again!
Should have know better. I booked on Valentines, the menu looked good, get in and learn that only a pre-fix menu was available. This was not Indicated when booking the reservation . Food was good, not great, sever was on it mainly due to it was dead.
Catal is our favorite restaurant in Orange County and we try to go there every Valentine's Day. We got engaged at Disneyland 32 years ago, on Valentine's Day! We love to celebrate at Catal and then we go to the Disney Store and buy Disney mugs and shot glasses. The prix fixe Valentine's Day menu at Catal was superb, and the Grey Goose martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was outstanding. The only challenge was seating, we moved tables once, but it was very drafty and windy and we were sitting indoors. I ended up eating with my heavy coat on.
Great experience! We enjoyed the service and the variety in the prefixed Valentine’s Day menu. Fair price for an amazing time.
Wonderful food. Perfect service!
Food at Catal was simply wonderfu! I went with a large group and everyone left with a smile on their face. I will be back!
Everything near perfect, except noise.
Viviane was a wonderful server! Very friendly and attentive.
Catal is a hidden secret in Downtown Disney for breakfast. We were there for 4 days & everything inside Disneyland was booked with reservations. Catal was quiet, very roomy upstairs and the breakfast was delicious. Prices are very reasonable too.
The eggs Benedict need a huge improvement. Not good.
Great place, great food, and great service!
Joe, our server, was very attentive and really enhanced our experience.
Dined with a reservation for three. The appetizers and paella were good, but the chicken entree was just ok. It was later in the evening and the service seemed to be turning over so there were some gaps in service. The ambiance is very good, though.
Had dinner here to Escape the park for bit to shop and dine. Catal, surpassed my wife and I expectations. Good food, service, but the outdoor seating was the best part about it. Usually busy so make reservations, and remember grab a drink and enjoy the vibe.
Best Filet Mignon I've ever had...and I have had 100's of great ones!!! Companions got the Chopped Salad, one with shrimp, one with chicken. Stupendous!
We decided to celebrate one of the kids birthday dinner there this past evening. We are a family of 8 and are Disneyland annual pass holders. Our family loves going to Catal for happy hour usually. We usually extremely love the food and service, but this particular evening, it didn’t go too well. I reserved early enough but ended up sitting outside. They didn’t have enough seating per my request and the hostess was very rude that she had to add an extra table and chair to add on to our already set table- my children even noticed. Mind you it was a chilly night and so we asked for the heaters to be turned on but she was not willing to help but instead referred to Ask our waitress/waiter. She pretty much ruined our night, experience, & birthday. Other than that, everyone and everything else went ok but it was not the best experience for the price. Food was good & everyone else were pleasantly wonderful.
Good food
Good bartender
Nice atmosphere
Poor service
Poor food delivery
Would only eat at the bar if I went back
We had dinner our final night at the Disney Resort. We were seated promptly, had excellent service throughout our meal, and enjoyed the relative quiet of the second story restaurant. Our server and her assistants were personable and professional. We shared the red stuffed peppers and bacon-wrapped dates. I had the Market Fish (special) and my husband had prime rib. Everything was lovely!
So glad we made a reservation here! Our lovely server allowed my husband to order from the kid's menu (he's not a big fan of "adult" food...). The food was delicious. I had the Vegan chili soup of the day and the delicious salad (with arugula, cheese, and walnuts). Everyone anticipated our every need! When we had the cancel part of our order (my younger son wasn't feeling well and didn't want his ice cream), she was very sweet and prompt about it. So good, and perhaps the best family dining outing we've had in a long time!
We have been to Catal many times and regularly have a great time with a good meal and good service.
It’s a unique experience being in the heart of Downtown Disney and having slightly unique presentations of tasty meals.
The staff at Catal was very accomodating for our large party. The food was casual and good. Service was quick and prices were reasonable for a touristy spot.
