   The one area of opportunity lies with proving wait staff with more training. They did not offer our group coffee or dessert after our meal and they did not keep us updated on the symtatus of our order. They just need to be a bit more polished. If service is exceptional, prices can be raised. Overall, the food and experience was very, very good.

   Steaks are not seasoned, (I suggest salt and pepper) the chef lacks adequate control on the charbroiler, burnt steak isn’t appetizing. The Alfredo is quite possibly the worst tasting thing I’ve ever had, no flavor, not creamy. Desserts are store bought I am betting. The rolls were good, butter eh. Spinach dip appetizer was ok. It was an average meal overall.

   Let me say that the wait staff was great. The food, however, was not. Steaks were inconsistently cooked (medium rare and medium well were essentially the same), the apple pie was obviously microwaved with cold spots throughout, and the salad bar barely had enough lettuce for our party of seven. The decor was extremely dated (and needed a thorough dusting). The ramp that was brought out for my mother’s wheelchair was a fright - old and buckling when weight was on it. It was quite telling that our party was the only group in the entire restaurant at 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday night.

   Drove over from Roanoke for Sunday brunch. Very unique and rustic setting that we enjoyed. The steak and pork loin were tasty and cooked to perfection.

    We were told the prime rib would be charbroiled, it was left on the grill too long. Even though the cut of meat was tasty and tender it was dry.

    Side dish choices very limited. Food was good. Restaurant very clean. Service was great. Used to be a hot spot in years past at this time if year but only few tables filled. Even though food was good and service great, prices too high.

    We were seated promptly and our server immediately catered to our every need. The salad bar was wonderful and so fresh. Our entrees arrived exactly as ordered. We couldn't have asked for better service or better food. We will definitely be returning to the Cat &Owl. This is a five star restaurant!

    My husband had steak well done and it was really good. Hard to do! I had oysters Rockefeller. There were 2 no bigger than a 50 cent piece, shell and all and medium. The taste was good but those little ones were not restaurant quality. My trout was grilled, overcooked and needed seasoning. I need to remember to tell them not to overcook my fish. I put salt and pepper and some butter on it and it was much better. The salad bar was as advertised! Fresh and very good. The biggest problem was finding it in the dark, poor lighting and signage. We would go again

    Five of us had dinner at Cat and Owl. Our table was ready at the appointed time. Our meal was excellent. As an added bonus friends we hadn’t seen in 50 years were visiting and were also dining there.

    Very nice restaurant. Staff was excellent. They went above and beyond when my husband had a slight allergic reaction to something he ate. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

    Perfect for leisurely dining. Love real table linens and elegance, so the setting is lovely. What the salad bar could possibly lack in quantity of offerings, it makes up for in the excellent flavor and freshness of what's there... and the homemade salad dressings are superb... a highlight of every meal.
