Carlo's Italian Bistro
Favorite neighborhood restaurant
We decided to go this past Sunday night instead of our usual Friday night. It was less crowded but everything else was up to the fine standards set by Carlo and continued by Dan and Stephanie. We had John as our waiter for the first time. He was great. We were not in a rush and neither was he. The food was perfect. You cannot ask for more than Carlo’s delivers each and every time. Dan, please mark us down for 8:00 on New Years Eve.
Awesome as usual
As always, food was excellent! Unfortunately, our serve was overwhelmed as the restaurant became busy & was not as attentive as we had expected.
Lacking time, we recommend Carlo's Italian Bistro very highly. Food is delicious, service is excellent ( the servers aim to please, There's a BYOB (steep price at $10 dollars a bottle for each opened) but they have a wine and beer menu that's priced reasonably. On Tuesdays. 1/2 price bottles of wine from their menu is offered. Don't miss this restaurant...one of best Italian restaurants in Baltimore.
Great food - Friendly service and nice value. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent food. Always consistently delicious.
Had the best birthday meal! Thank you!
What more can I say other than everything was perfect. The shrimp Rolando, is simply outstanding. The veal marsala and penne with vodka sauce was tremendous. We always enjoy going to Carlos for dinner and it was such a welcoming site to see Vincent there this time. We can't say enough about the food and the warm welcome we received every time we go there. It's a must
This is a good Italian restaurant with friendly service. No frills.
I have always enjoyed Carlo's and after Carlo dies I said I would still patronize the restaurant. However many of my friends will not because of the high corkage fee. I'm so tired of being charged ten bucks when I bring a flask and even my own glass. I get a different response from the wait staff each time. Lexie was particularly rude about removing it. I even mentioned I got a free corkage because it was our anniversary/birthday. I was also very disappointed that since I made a reservation and stated in it we were celebrating two birthdays and our anniversary that there wasn't a table available. We waited 15 minutes and accepted a crappy one that was dark and small. I think I'm through.
The food was very tasty, but the serving sizes were a little small. The lobster ravioli was superb. Our waitress was very attentive and provided excellent service. This restaurant is definitely on our list of places to try again.
The wine was the only drawback. Our waitress was very good
Our weekly dinner at Carlos was excellent as usual. Food and service have never been anything but outstanding. Our favorite restaurant, it is like going to see your family, the ones that you love.
Found Carlo’s by accident. The restaurant is hidden in an out of the way building that totally belies the very nice interior. So, when you see the place from the outside, don’t be put off.
Staff are all friendly, and though the seemed a bit short handed for a Saturday evening, Lexie, our waitress, kept things moving well and no real issues.
Fair wine list that was what was needed. We weren’t there to impress anyone and the wines, many of which you could buy by the glass, were worth drinking.
I had the pork shanks and my wife had the veal Marsala. Typical Italian fare that was good and filling, but not outstanding. The shanks were spicy, which I liked, so enjoyed them a great deal. True test? My wife brought half of hers home. Means it was good.
All in all a good spot for a low key meal either by yourselves or with friends.
A neighborhood gem! Always great food at a reasonable price, service is very good as well.
Lexi was a wonderful server and the food was amazing! This place never disappoints!
From the service to the food, everything was fabulous!! Loved the shrimp appetizer with the creamy garlic sauce. We could have licked the plate. Lobster ravioli to die for! All of the chicken and veal dishes at the table (6of us) were amazing. We will be back!!!
The best spaghetti and meatballs I have found in the area.
We usually have a good experience but our oder got mixed up and the food was cold. There was a big party upstairs so our food took longer to get. The waitstaff never came over to offer more bread and we had to ask for refills.
Not fancy, uneven but friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. A great place to bring large groups because they have the space, are accommodating, have a menu to please everyone, and the value is good. Desserts are very good!
Have been for two large family gatherings...Carlo's is perfect for family celebrations!
Seated promptly. Waitress attentive & friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered the cheese bread as an appetizer. My husband spotted it the last time we were there & said he wanted to try it. I had the garlic shrimp w/fettuccini. It was a very large portion. My husband had chicken parmesan. Both were delicious & of course we had leftovers.
Debbie our waitress was great and very pleasant. She helped us with our selection
Great Flavor to the food. Very accommodating service. BYO. Will go again.
I have never been disappointed at Carlo's. We have been there when they are busy, as well as when they are slow. The food and service has always been outstanding. The meals are extremely tasty and always served hot and the servers make us feel like friends. (Debbie is a hoot!! We really enjoy her!)
Give Carlo's a try, you won't be disappointed!!
Food was good. Our waitress was very good. I would recommend Carlos.
Great home made tasting Italian food!
Best dining experience in a long time. Have loved Carlo’s since it was in Towson/Parkville. Food was outstanding...as always.
We have been dining at Carlo’s Italian Bistro for several years and we are never disappointed. The food is always excellent..fresh bread, wonderful house salad vinaigrette, delicious fresh cooked entrees. Service is wonderful and attentive and the whole atmosphere is family oriented. You will not be disappointed!
The waitress was friendly and smart enough not to ask what we thought of our food during or after our meal. We ate early, around 5, so few patrons. However, the conversation in the kitchen area, which is open to the dining room, was loud. Very unprofessional. I ordered the lobster ravioli which I thought, after reading the description, would have a wonderful flavor. It was very fishy. My husband's pasta and red sauce were ok, but the meatballs he ordered as an addition to his entree where not. The three meatballs were huge, but not flavorful. He left all but a forkful uneaten. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and we came to Carlo's looking for something special on our last night of vacation. We were disappointed.
We really enjoyed our experience! We will definitely be back
Even though it was Mother’s Day, a usually hectic, slow-service and crowded day at most restaurants, our experience was excellent! Good, friendly service from Debbie B. And delicious homemade food! Loved the bread baked on site and the all our pasta dishes.
This was my second visit. I ordered the veal parmigiana, which turned out to be a poor choice. The veal was over cooked. On my first visit I had the Chicken Piccata, which was loaded with flavor. This time I made a bad choice.
Really yummy food! Neighborhood go to place! Personable and good waitress.
Always good food and nice people.
I had never heard of Carlo's before looking for a place for Easter Sunday on the Thursday of the same week. They had good ratings and still had reservations so we booked. You may miss it coming from the main road since it sits right behind Taco Bell but it's a huge place with first floor and upstairs seating. We were a large party of 8 and were seated upstairs. They were about 10 empty tables up there.
We ordered the special of the day, an appetizer and entrees. A little disappointed they didn't have a full bar, only wine and beer but they are BYOB with a corkage fee. We all were impressed with the side salads. The Shrimp Rolando was a crowd pleaser and left us cleaning the plate with our ordered garlic bread. The lobster ravioli, shrimp toscana and shrimp alfredo were all delicious. When the food arrived we all stopped talking and ate because it was that good. Since we were seated upstairs I think the waiter forgot about us but he was very polite and cleared things everytime he came up.
Overall, LOVED the food and will definitely return.
We've reviewed Carlo's Italian Bistro numerous times over the years, since we eat there very frequently. The food is excellent (love the bruschetta, mussels, meatballs, chicken parm venue is pleasant and pricing is reasonable. We look for consistency in a restaurant and Carlo's is always good.
Very nice staff. Atmosphere was welcoming. A little difficult to find, but overall our foursome enjoyed our evening.
Carlo's Italian Bistro is always a pleasurable experience for a traditional Italian meal - staff are friendly and the food is excellent!
Just like grandma used to make! So delicious as always. Gnocchi, veal parm, house salad dressing are all excellent. Love their clam sauce - best around for sure!
