Cardellino Italian Chophouse is a story steeped in fire, char, steak—and red sauce, parmesan, and truffles. A blend of Midwest chophouse and Italian trattoria, the restaurant reflects Chef Brad Wise’s culinary ethos and TRUST Restaurant Group’s signature style. Live-fire cooking anchors the menu, melding a Tuscan stone hearth with an all-American Big Green Egg.

Drawing inspiration from northern Italy - Umbria, Piedmont - Cardellino offers housemade pastas and traditional antipasti, but the spotlight is on the meat. The signature Bistecca Fiorentina, a 38 oz charcoal-grilled steak, arrives sliced and reassembled on a custom mahogany board. Pork Osso Bucco and Salt-Baked Branzino round out the chophouse-style offerings. Pastas are bold, sides are built for sharing, and the experience is best with Barolo. For a deeper dive, the Tuscan Experience invites guests to enjoy a four-course, chef-curated journey inspired by what Brad’s loving in the moment.

Quality and flavor of the food on the Mother’s Day set menu was mediocre at best. We waited too long for our entrees. Disappointing. The quality of the meal did not reflect the cost.

Absolutely amazing! Everything we ordered from the rib eye carpaccio, bucatini, roasted carrots, spicy rigatoni, afogato, and so much more was delicious! I couldn’t tell you my favorite because it’s hard to decide. 1000000/10, I’ll definitely be back and recommend.

Our meal was exceptional, and our waiter Antonio made the experience even better. The food was perfectly prepared, and the cocktails—Gin Dirty Martini and Cantalupo—were both delicious. We started with the filet mignon carpaccio, then shared the 22 oz bone-in New York steak cooked medium rare, paired with creste con tartufo. The carrot cake was incredibly moist and easily one of the best we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be back and are excited to try the other sister restaurants next!

Arrived on time for 6:15 PM reservation. Seated at table right in front of door with a server station within 3 feet of us on other side. Loud and busy. Server seemed like a robot. Pasta dishes were not good. Was expecting cozy and warm but this seems like an impersonal chain restaurant.

This Resturant is overrated and a huge disappointment from the Trust Resturant group. Both food and service were way below expectations.

A very good dinner at Trust group’s Cardellino. It’s a combination steakhouse and pasta place but somehow they manage to pull it off very well. In fact, I’d say as a frequent traveler to Italy, while there are zero truly great Italian restaurants in the SD area, Cardellino prepares truly excellent pasta dishes, in addition to a great steak. Probably the best in SD. The prices are up there - everything is ala carte. A great evening.

Our server John was really great at recommendations and helped us pick off the menu. It was our first time there so we didn’t know what was good and what to split. The only thing was they did give us a table outside and the sun was beaming down on me for a bit but when I asked if they can give an umbrella or block it out they did what they could which I found amazing and accommodating! Our table was small but we were able to eat our food fine. The staff was just very warm and welcoming . The food was amazing ! The carpaccio was spot on and we literally licked the plate, the spicy rigatoni was AMAZING! And went great with our ribeye! Also! If you’re going to get any meat get the truffles it adds so much more depth and flavor to the steak. Thank you again John!
