Fabulous food and service!!! I love the breakfast quesadilla with chorizo!!! Sooooo delicious!
The service was average. Server was nice but definitely treated the men differently then the women at the table. They don’t accept cash but didn’t let us know. The berry pancakes were fluffy but really had no flavor to them. The Bloody Mary was watery & not spicy (even tho we asked for extra spicy). The atmosphere is beautiful though & unbeatable.

Waited an hour for our food. Once I asked if server could check the status of our order, she quickly came back and informed us it’ll be ready in 7-10 min. The cook probably just started in our meal after everyone else in the restaurant already received their food even after many arrived after we were seated.

Our server was very nice. Our food had no taste. My adult kids had a cheeseburger which was blah and they didn’t care for the biscuit type bun. I had eggs Benedict and it had no flavor. I was bummed because we were excited to try out this restaurant.

stumbled upon this cafe and walked in and was turned away. The waiter stated they were by reservation only and asked if I had any. I had told him the situation and said I wasn’t aware and if they had anything available? He said no as he sarcastically smiled and said no. The waiter was so snotty and rude and by far accommodating. I noticed the restaurant was pretty much empty which is even why I questioned if he had anything? I walked out and asked some customers that were walking out if they could suggest a place nearby? he suggested this place and I told him it’s by reservations and he shockingly said really? I didn’t make any and the whole patio is empty! I went online and made a reservation for 1145 which it was 1140 and walked right back in and he looked annoyed. I said i made reservations online and he looked at his watch and said you’re early! We finally got waited on after waiting 20 mins to take our order and then ordered guac toast and bacon and eggs and waited 1 hour to get our food and when it arrived it was COLD! not sure if this was on purpose or not?? so disappointed in the service and staff
Capitol Garage was an average meal for us. It took us 10 minutes to be greeted and seated. Service was good, but they appeared to be understaffed. After ordering it was over 30 minutes before our food arrived. We had brunch - I ordered the shrimp benedict. It was a generous serving, and the sauce was more flavorful than the traditional. The potatoes were well cooked, which I prefer. The second guest ordered traditional eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes. They asked if we wanted salt and pepper, and they never brought it. The toast was not burnt, but hard enough to not eat. The third guest ordered monte cristo, and it appeared the bread was prepared as french toast, then was grilled with the meat and cheese after the fact. Kind of odd, and the strawberries were not edible. This was my first time at the restaurant, and I'm not inclined to return.

First time here. The three chicken Rojas tacos were delicious and big (was expecting street taco sized, considering the price.) Friendly and helpful waiter/bartender.

A little underwhelmed by the ambiance and menu. Blackened shrimp on the salads was so so. CG fries were over sauced and their taste was ruined by thick soy sauce that was spread on them.

My sister and I decided to have brunch at Capitol Garage while visiting my sister in Sacramento. The waitress provided great customer service and was really nice. The mimosa were really good. I ordered the egg white omelette with tomatoes, spinach and onion, it was good along with the sautéed potatoes. My sister had an omelet but I don’t remember what she had with hers. We seat outside and Day was so beautiful. I would be back to have brunch here. I enjoyed my experience.

We weren’t served our food. We ordered and waited an hour. They had to give us our food in to go containers because we were late to our appointment by that point.
We got seated right away with our reservation but it took them almost an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. Our waitress never came to refill waters or get us another drink.

My friend and I went for lunch before a show. It took over an hour to get our food. The server brought our food even though my fries were missing and said she’d bring them as soon as they were available. I never got them, and she didn’t give me a break on the price! She said they weren’t use to the crowd they had and only have one chef, who was sick—not what we wanted to hear! The food was okay, nothing spectacular. Definitely won’t go back.
I can’t comment on the food since we sat for 90 minutes without receiving our order. When we asked how much longer, we were told 10 minutes and that it is a “scratch” kitchen which is why it takes so long. For obvious reasons, I don’t recommend!
Idk... the wait is incredible even with a reservation. Also, they don’t know how to wrap a burrito 🌯 or assemble it for that matter...

The food is fine and reasonable priced, but the service here and the speed of the kitchen are terrible. It took more than 50 minutes between the time we ordered our food to the time our food arrived at the table. This after we had to flag down our server to place our order. To be fair, when the drinks and food arrived, everything was good - the food was hot and the drinks were correct. However we were almost late to the theater despite having a reservation 2 hours before showtime. This is the second time in four visits that we have had such time issues with the kitchen. We will not be back.
Tried calling the restaurant 3 times to make a reservation and no answer. Made reservations online for outdoor seating and arrived on time but there were no staff in sight, only security at the door checking ID for a loud party that wasn’t advertised on their website. Music was too loud and since staff weren’t around, we left and went elsewhere. Not a good first time experience.
Sunday brunch before matinee at the theater. Had a reservation, seated quickly but waited over an hour for food to be served—pancakes, French toast, quesadillas, and two egg dishes. The server was nice but unapologetic about the wait explaining the time it was taking was because they “make everything fresh”. Really? I expect that; I don’t expect to wait an hour for brunch foods. The food was acceptable but not anything worth returning for.

Had Sunday brunch with my mother. It took 45 minutes to get our food once it was ordered. During the 45 minute wait I asked our server about the wait and she said that the wait time was normal. She also said our order was next to be platted. Ten minutes later when we got our food it was lukewarm. So I'm not impressed. I'm hoping that my experience with brunch was a one-off, as I've often had lunch at Cap Garage during the week and found the food and service to be great.
I can’t believe how bad the service was. I saw a friend that evening and she said the same thing. The staff was almost hostile. Forty minutes went by and we sat with only a glass of water.
I took my parents for Mother's Day. The item selection on the menu was decent. Mostly average fare, but there were a few exceptional items, such as the apricot pancakes. My father said those were divine! I had the avocado toast, which was good, but the scrambled eggs I ordered to go with it were very plain. The tomato slices that were the garnish were not ripe, so maybe they could have skipped those. My mother ordered an eggs benedict which looked like a photo shoot item. It was gorgeous, and she said it was delicious. The ham slices were quite thick though. My son ordered an omelette, and he said it was very plain. The mimosas were just okay. The coffee was very good!
We would still probably try it again, hoping for better food the next time, and maybe just not for a special occasion. Our waitress was fabulous. We tipped her nicely because she really was great.
Hands down the worst brunch experience I've ever had, and on Mother's Day. Food was terrible. Our waitress became angry and aggressive towards us after we asked to order another plate for my mom (her food was basically inedible). I happened to talk to someone else later in the evening who was there with their mom that day, and they also had a terrible experience. Shame, used to love this place.
When booking this restaurant I relied on their official website for all the detail. When I go to the restaurant the servers told me the website was very out of date. Everything was more expensive than what their website prices said. Be prepared to spend around $40-$50 if you are having dinner.
The food was good and the drag show was a great time. I just wish they had updated their website so the 9 people I brought wouldn’t be surprised when it was different then what they read online too.
Usually love CG, unique menu and lots of vegan offerings, but the service is consistently awfully slow. This last evening it took more than 30 mins for our appetizer (tots) and 45 minutes to get our three entrees. Disappointing. I like the food but I want the service to be so much better.
Yes for the Drag Queen entertainment but NO for the service, it was awful. The waitress delivered our food so late that by the time we got it it was cold. Then I asked her for a hot veggie fritters and she came back to say they ran out. After that she offered me something else but by then I declined, so I asked for coffee ( which was the worse tasting ever) and she asked if I wanted cream and sugar, I said yes, by the time she brought the cream/sugar my coffee was already cold. Then she completely forgot my boyfriends soda. When presented with the bill we were completely taken back. She told us there was a $5 p/person cover charge and 2 drink minimum p/person.
Really have to contemplate if I go there again.
On the other had the Drag Queen performance was great.
