    Pretty crammed together, small tables. The fried mushrooms sandwich had very little fried mushrooms. I would get something different next time. Very nice that they can make dishes vegan per request. Curry was delicious.

    This is usually a good spot, but our experience last evening was poor. I had reservations. It was not crowded. We only ordered dessert and drinks before an event at the SAFE Performing Arts Center. 20 minutes after ordering, our simple orders had not arrived and our server had virtually disappeared. We flagged another server to inquire, who took action to retrieve our order after another 7 minutes. We finally cancelled the fries since they still were MIA. One bad experience in an otherwise convenient location with a nice menu.

    Food was very good but our meals took 45 minutes to get to us. We were going to a show a block or so away and had allowed an hour and a half to eat. Barely made it to the show and it was stressful.

    If you want to be on time for your show and want more than 11 minutes(!) to eat your meal, despite booking a reservation for 90 minutes prior to showtime, you may want to select another restaurant. Read on for the details. My wife and I arrived at Capitol Garage at 6:02 PM for a 6:00 PM reservation on a Wednesday night. We were seated by approximately 6:05 PM, and the waitress suggested that we order right away if we wanted to make our show at the nearby SAFE CU Performing Arts Center. (Yes, that should have been our first sign.) And though it was our first visit this restaurant, we quickly selected two main dishes off the menu and ordered them without any modifications by no later than 6:10 PM. Our waitress kept us somewhat up-to-date, but when our food was delivered to our table at 7:09 PM (Yes, nearly an hour after we ordered!) it was much too late for us to be able to enjoy it. According to our brief conversation with the manager, this happens regularly on theater nights at this restaurant because their small kitchen cannot handle the volume. Yet they still chose to accept our OpenTable reservation and also chose to seat a party of 6 who did not have a reservation just ahead of us. Those poor folks similarly ended up with very little time to consume their meal. As a result of our experience, and despite that the food actually tasted very good, we won't be back anytime soon.

    The restaurant gets very crowded before shows at theater across the street so give yourself from 1.25 to 1.5 hours for those times. Wait staff inquired if we were attending show and was hustling. I understand that the small kitchen gets overwhelmed at these times and perfect food is less likely. My burger ordered medium came out medium rare but I went with it due to time constraints and sympathy for the chef. High quality food at a good price point overall.

    We were first to arrive for dinner before a show at the Safe Credit Union Performing Arts Center. The host, Richie was very cordial and we were seated very quickly. I've eaten here before although it was pre-covid conditions. The menu has changed, no shrimp and grits, but I enjoyed my entrée. There was nothing left on my plate of salmon sliders, because I ate it all! It got busy and noisy rapidly but still we could hear those in our trio speak. We were allowed to linger a bit and were not pressured to order anything else. We received a 10% discount as theatre patrons, which was lovely. I will return for breakfast.

    Ordered a hamburger. It was delicious but I think it sat awhile , as the bottom bun was very soggy and not really edible. Service took awhile but we went there before going to a musical and it was crowded. Got a 10% discount too! Our server did her best, she was running around. Overall I would return.

    It was cold due to the “garage door” being opened. Very uncomfortable. Even the waitress mentioned it was typically cold here. It’s not enjoyable to eat your dinner with a coat on

    My friend and I are vegan and we were blown away by the barbecue tofu hash. The service was flawless and I can not wait to go back!! Best vegan food I have had in a long time. Prices were great too!

    Service was excellent!! I loved their new drink menu and highly recommend the Barbie drink!! Made it a fun night with family before we went to the show at Safe credit union. It is literally right there and easy to get to after dinner.

    We enjoyed our breakfast. We were there early and one of only three tables at the time so it was quiet. Our server was fabulous and we enjoyed the breakfast. I’m vegan and my spouse is not. We enjoy great choices for both of us. They have several vegan plates to offer.

    Had a reservation for 6pm and was seeing a play at 7:30. At 7:10 we still had not received our food which was an hour after we ordered! Our food got to our seats at 7:12 and I had to scarf my meal down so we could walk to the theater by 7:20. Very disappointed it took so long to get our food. 2 other tables got up and walked out because their food was taking over an hour too.

    So disappointing! We had reservations at 6 pm with intentions of having dinner before a 7:30 show across the street. By 7:05 we still hadn't received our food, nor did the other 2 tables next to us that were already seated when we got there, who also were attending the 7:30 show. We had all inquired with our waitress to make sure we would be able to eat before the show, and she said yes. When we were the only 3 tables left in the restaurant who had not been served, she told us everything was being plated & brought out. We were all standing in the concession line at the show, looking for something to eat since none of us got dinner. There were 2 in our party and we only ordered a burger & a sandwich. I understand there's a labor shortage. But we should have been told there was no way we would be served in time to attend a 7:30 show. The acoustics in this place amplify sound, making it way too loud for a normal conversation. Overall a very unpleasant way to start a date night. I would not recommend this place. Ever.

    The waitress spilled my martini when she was putting it on the table. I expected she would come back with a towel to wipe it up but never did. Not wanting to use my napkin (cloth) I took one from another table and wiped it up myself. Also I’m still put off by being charged for half and half for my coffee. Just sayin.

    Our server, Ricky did a great job of getting us seated and keeping us informed when things took a little longer than he felt it should have. Unique cocktails and delicious food. A small hidden gym in downtown Sacramento.
