   Food took 30 + minutes to arrive while we were literally the only table outside on the sidewalk. Tables were never wiped down prior to seating. Server was nice, but would disappear for quite a a bit as it looked like they were severely understaffed. So definitely understandable. Food was ok. Would come back just for drinks.

   I have been coming to Capitol Garage for decades! It is always dependable for great food and atmosphere. We enjoyed our Mother's Day brunch with my wife, my mom, and our daughters.

   We like this restaurant. It was very loud and crowded and the A/C was blasting on us, which I know cannot always be helped. It took along time to get our order, but the food was good. The food looked like it sat under the heat lamps for a while before it was delivered. The waitress seemed busy and was not very attentive but she did the job. Just as we were about to leave they blasted music so loud it sped up our departure. We did have a nice time, despite all these things.

   We waited for an hour and a half for our food. I had to leave without eating and my friends stayed and got my food to go. The salad I ordered was supposed to have mozzarella and did not. Never will go again.

   It took an hour to get our food because everyone came for lunch just before a Broadway show. He says that happens all the time. But we made it on time anyway. Fantastic food and service.

   Our server was nice, but we didn’t see her very often. Our group sat down at 11:40, and we ordered about five minutes later. We finally got our food over an hour later at 12:45. During that time, we were told maybe twice that our food “would be coming up soon in a few minutes.” My boyfriend wanted a second beer, and since we didn’t see our server anywhere, he had to go to the bar area to buy it. Since we had tickets to a musical at 1:30, we just paid our check at the same time our server brought our food. We were done eating by about 1:10. In other words, we spent twice as long waiting as we did eating. The food was good, but not good enough to warrant a 60 minute wait.

    Great location. Food was excellent. Friendly service. No nonsense atmosphere. Excellent value for the meal. Our first time there and definitely not the last. At least on a Friday night, reservations a must.

    The Capitol Garage isn't glamourous or elegant, but the food is excellent and very inexpensive for the quality. The bar is also a bargain.

    Food was great as always, I think the host was new and nervous. The waiter admitted he didn’t know we had been placed in his section. But once he knew, he was accommodating and very polite. They also called me about my reservation 20 minutes into it so I think it just wasn’t checks in to right away. But I’ll be back in love this place and the food is so good.

    Our group ordered a variety of breakfast entrees and everyone was completely satisfied. My salmon cakes Benedict were perfection. The omelets filled the plate and none of the dishes were overwhelmed with potatoes. The berry French toast got rave reviews. Though we had reservations, it was very busy, and our server did his best. We were patient, as you need to be in situations like this. We'll definitely be back.

    Great food!! Nice selection on the menu. Michael was our server and very professional and knowledgeable. Had a great time with family. The berry shortcake for dessert was excellent. Bottomless mimosas too!

    Servers are very attentive and nice. Noise levels we quite high but not enough to keep me from returning. Food was great. Prices were a little high for not getting extras included with the meal.

    I almost feel as if I need to write 2 reviews: one for the food; one for the restaurant. The food is very good. The burger was cook perfectly to order and is plentiful. The Thai salad was great. The tacos were very good. However, the service is slow, so something to keep in mind if you have a show at the Community Center, next door. We waited close to 45 minutes for our food. Also because the restaurant is small and an industrial-type of setting, with a bar area that takes about 1/3 of the space, it is very loud. Like sports stadium loud. Do expect a meaningful conversation with your meal companions. But, the food is very good.

    There was no wait with reservations. This is a small restaurant with large beer selection but I don’t drink beer. It was very busy before a show at the theater so was crowded and noisy. I wish that they brought my side salad before the entree. It was fresh, tasty and NO wilted leaves. My salmon slider’s for entree were fabulous!! I will return.

    We were seated for our noon reservation on time but weren't served our food until 50 minutes later. Our server stalled on taking our order, probably because the kitchen was backed up, as we were repeatedly told later. She did apologize for the delay, which was nice, but shows that she knew it was taking longer than it should. We also asked her if Capitol Garage participated in the 10% off for Broadway on Tour ticket holders and she said no. We got to the show and Capitol Garage was listed in the ad for 10% off for ticket holders! The restaurant guests next to us said they went there because 15L was booked up, and they had learned how to "hack the system" at CG because CG is always so behind and puts theater patrons under stress. They always order right when they arrive. Lesson learned.

    our server was not attentive to our needs at all and seemed to go out of his way to not make eye contact given how small the restaurant is. PS you need to fix the regular toilet in the woman's bathroom before someone hurts themselves the whole thing moves like it's not attached to the floor.

    Dine Downtown restaurant week drew us to this Capitol watering hole. Our first course, a thickened soup dubbed "Irish stew" was delicious. The main course featured three lovely grilled asparagus spears, a well-made polenta base, and a rather indifferent piece of salmon, but properly cooked. Desserts were delightful small bits of chocolate drenched cheesecake or a lovely anise-flavored, chocolate drenched cookie. Including a glass of wine or a cocktail in the base price was quite nice. Other comments about slow service did not at all apply to this quiet Friday evening.

    The waiter was very attentive. Good mixed drink and the salad was very good. I had the Beef Stew and it was perfect for a cold night and a cold fan running in the restaurant. The cheesecake balls were excellent.

    We were seated at a very unstable wobbly table. I asked host if we could move towards the back to one of the many empty tables towards the back of establishment. He said , no and seated us at table right in front of door. I asked if all the tables were going to be used he said said yes they had a lot of 6:00 reservations which was untrue as only about 2 filled while we were there. Food was good but not great for $45 per person. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is because the server was very good and this rating does not reflect his service and demeanor.
