Traditional meets modern in this new age Caribbean cuisine restaurant brought you by Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph of E&R Hospitality Group.

Named after the Canje pheasant, national bird of Guyana, Canje pulls inspiration not just from mainland Guyana, but from Jamaica to Puerto Rico, and all the islands in between. Our menu explores the cooking techniques, ingredients, and many expressions of vibrant food across the region.

Tucked away on the east side of Austin, this lively environment brings a unique cocktail program boasting both spirit forward and fruit driven cocktails and a small selection of natural wines alongside our inventive food menu.

    Unique food with a wonderful ambiance. Knowledge servers that were there when we needed them. Cocktails could use A LOT of reworking. A little too strong for a nice meal.

    Always great! This is my favorite place in town. We often dine there as a couple, but a larger group would be nice to be able to try more across the entire menu. We have a few “must haves” including the Ceviche, Boar Pepper Pot, Roti, and Tres Leches. The other dishes are great too, but these are the reason we go! Will be back again soon!

    Ordered the Pink Pineapple, Ceviche, Indian Curry, Wild Boar, Roti, Rice, Ice Cream, Mango Pudding, and Sorbet. Everything was delicious! Daryl was the BEST. Very energetic, had the best recommendations and overall made the experience for us!

    Canje has been my favorite restaurant in Austin for years. The food is always cooked to perfection, and the flavors are unique and incredible. Canje also has my favorite cocktail in Austin. The staff makes you feel like family. I brought a friend for his birthday, and they made him feel so special and celebrated. If you’re looking for immaculate flavors and vibes, you can’t go wrong with Canje.
