Traditional meets modern in this new age Caribbean cuisine restaurant brought you by Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph of E&R Hospitality Group.

Named after the Canje pheasant, national bird of Guyana, Canje pulls inspiration not just from mainland Guyana, but from Jamaica to Puerto Rico, and all the islands in between. Our menu explores the cooking techniques, ingredients, and many expressions of vibrant food across the region.

Tucked away on the east side of Austin, this lively environment brings a unique cocktail program boasting both spirit forward and fruit driven cocktails and a small selection of natural wines alongside our inventive food menu.

    We love Canje. The food is so unique than anything else in ATX. The staff is fantastic. It’s very reasonable in price. The only issue I always have is it is sooooooooooooo loud.

    The food here was absolutely divine. However, you cannot hear your neighbor speak: at 7 o’clock in the evening, it is unbelievably loud and the acoustics are just awful. So just plan on yelling at your partner all dinner long over delicious delectably, interesting dishes, or maybe order takeout.

    Our experience was amazing! It was my boyfriend’s first time and he was blown away. Javi did a great job walking us through the menu and gave us suggestions. Cocktails were delicious as well. Thank you Canje team!

    An amazing family style food experience. Loved getting to explore new flavors and appreciated the guidance of our server. The inside can be noisy but the patio is much more quiet. We’ve been to Canje at least four times now and each time I walk extremely happy with the evening.
