Steak Cooked over Charcoal
served with green salad, béarnaise sauce, fries
I hate to comment negatively on any restaurant knowing the terrible situation the sector is in. Particularly when service was friendly and pleasant even it not entirely prompt. Some food was good (the steak, fresh salads, bread) other nowhere near a Jason Atherton standard (fish and oysters did not smell or taste fresh). There seemed to be a problem with temperature as oysters arrived lukewarm and butter was melting. Finally, our first two choices from the theoretically extensive wine list were not available and the sommelier's reccomendation was average (although at a decent price). Hope things improve as the place deserves to succeed.
Had a lovely lovely lunch, the set menu was great. Service wasn’t the most speedy but we were wanting a leisurely lunch so that suited us fine. Everyone was nice and helpful & hence I would return
Was like sitting in a car park under a glaring spotlight with music banging from a speaker above our heads.
The service was very good. Apart from. That we could’ve find a reason to longer and left to go somewhere else after the main course
Wine list was poor, the non alcoholic cocktails just tasted of sugar.
Generally the food was below a barrage with a couple of exceptions (the rigatoni and the fish).
The pizza was possibly the worst pizza I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
Don’t be fooled by the name.
First time at Cafe Biltmore. . Not a great experience. Food very average. Would expect better from such a high quality hotel chain! Would not go back. Staff very nice and attentive. Other point it is next to the garage and not blocked off adequately. You can hear and smell car fumes! .
Didn’t meet expectations. I assume the dining area was on a rooftop terrace. However, the hotel has converted to a ground floor courtyard, surrounded by tall buildings. The hotel has made great efforts to make this place look pretty with vertical gardens; nevertheless, don’t book if you’re expecting a terrace with a view.
Fabulous and attentive service. Food was lovely but husband said steak was lit as good as others he had had. Still had a great evening. Not cheap but good treat
Great location, quiet in a lovely Terrace in an oasis of plants but overlooking the car park.
Service was on the slower side which I prefer to being rushed.
Food was good. Amazing Chocolate Molten Pudding!
The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious.
If you are looking for a place to have dinner and be able to hear those your are with, this is certainly a great choice - not overcrowded by tables and not noisy either.
The service was absolutely awful. Our waiter was extremely rude and didn't go around the table to get orders. He asked had a nonchalant attitude as we were deciding what to pick. The food came very late and he blamed it in the kitchen. When we asked to speak to the manager over 5 times, the manager ignored us and was setting tables. We had to walk up to the manager ourselves and the manager let us know this was the first time he had heard there was an issue with our table. I then had to call our waiter who we saw speak to him to ask him if he did tell the manager we wanted to speak to him. After the waiter said he did inform him in front of the manager, the manger said that he was dealing with something urgent (he was setting tables for a restaurant that was closing). I had the work experience of my life there. Please never go there unless you want to eat disappointment for dinner.
Quite a limited menu but adequate. Service very good. Only complaint is that wine is very expensive for what was a very average wine.
The setting itself is lovely and I’d wanted to visit this Hilton for a while. The seat had cob webs across and the services was non-existence with the server not speaking at all when he delivered food or collected plates. The service was bizarre. The mains and desserts were good, especially pea risotto. The starters of fennel and orange not so much. Id marked this as a birthday lunch, no mention at all yet other tables had desserts served with candles and songs.
Very nice staff, friendly and professional. If you are avoiding indoor dining for health reasons the terrace feels very safe.
Was nice but having tables and chairs piled up on the terrace doesn't look so nice !
Food was good - good lunch.
Great location, venue, staff & quality of food was second to none. Will definitely visit again
The pizza was amazing and al the staff are so nice! Would recommend!!
a very simple menu that I loved, but so complex and mouthwatering flavours!!!
definitely worth visiting it!
Visited with girlfriends for lunch yesterday 19th June for al fresco lunch.
Having read some not so favourable reviews about the outside seating area I was somewhat apprehensive however, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left [and without being rushed off of our table] I cannot fault the experience in any way whatsoever.
If you are a little surprised to find yourself seated in an outside car park which has been 'done up' to accommodate outside dining regulations at the moment, then you are mistaken. The outside area, in normal circumstances, is in fact a small in /out access to the rear of the hotel and Ballroom entrance. There is plenty of cover overhead, blankets on your seats as you arrive and if you wish, a hot water bottle to keep the elements from settling-in but, not required by all of us yesterday.
The food was excellent, as was the presentation and arrival time for any of the food / drink to get to the table. There was a variety of diners, socially distanced from us, all of which seemed to be enjoying an equally pleasant afternoon's dining.
The pandemic and the now recent opening-up has meant that the hospitality industry has had to rethink how it can maximise its offerings and if this temporarily equates to a bit of an alternative al fresco seating area as is currently at the Biltmore then, in my book, this is well thought out and without any complaint from six ladies who enjoy fine dining - we are used to eating out at the more established of establishments [when we have been able to] so we know good food / service levels.
Therefore, please visit the Biltmore, it was a lovey occasion, food / drink reasonably priced and given its kitchen host, a certain Mr Atherton, you know before you get there that you will not be disappointed! Will definitely visit again even if only for a quick cocktail in one of the rather swanky looking bars / lounge areas.
Thank you to The Biltmore for a lovely afternoon yesterday!
Fantastic place!! Beautiful setting. Outstanding service and delicious food. They couldn’t have done more for us and we had a fabulous afternoon. Would definitely return here.
Fantastic ambience, decor and service. Lovely friendly staff, really enjoyed our time there.
Lovely restaurant food is excellent staff very attentive without being overbearing. I found the music quite loud and changed table twice to hear and struggled to find a reasonably priced table wine. Overall a pleasure
I am pretty sure the terrace is a converted parking/turning circle for the entrance to the ballroom, with some cleverly placed foliage so i was a little disappointed about that.
The service was pleasant but slow, we had to ask to order our food, and for water top ups etc. Food was delicious as expected. I probably would not return as it didnt feel as special as i hoped it would.
You arrive through a stunning hotel lobby, greeted by the concierge. You are expecting good things, however it all went downhill from there. We were seated in the terrace which looked nothing like the photos and did not match the opulence of the reception. Instead we were shown to a table in what looked like a car park lit by a stark white clinical light source. I would be willing to forgive the surroundings if the rest of the experience was excellent but sadly it was not. The service while not terrible was also not great it took a while for food to come out and it didn’t feel special. The food was very average. I had the crab starter and the monkfish curry. The curry was bland and the crab was ok but nothing incredible and disappointing at the price point. The only thing that we were really impressed with was the wine which was very nice.
Overall I would say that the main problem was just that the price did not match the quality. My review would read very differently if we were paying £35 per head and in a pub but paying £70 and being in somewhere attempting fine dining I would say that this was very disappointing.
Have never been here or to the hotel before, found it on OpenTable. Its a beautiful place and lovely terrace. The food was good, but unfortunately the service was very poor. Had to wait a long time for menus, water, to pay etc. Which was very annoying and I don't think we will be back or recommend it unfortunately.
Lovely Terrace set up, the food looked great and tasted ok. The staff were lovely except, I asked for a different table due to the Sun and they accommodated me well. Cocktails where made well. Would go back for a drink.
Good food, great ambience, good service and fair value. Nice place for a lunch with family or friends or event a for a working launch
Food was ok and as expected.. however the service was lacking...
fabulous service and good thank you
This was my second visit
The service was very poor with no attention given to our table
We had to keep calling someone
Our main course arrived at 10:15 almost 40 minutes after our starters
The pizza arrived first followed by pasta that was stodgy and stuck together
The saving grace were the starters which were exemplary
This food or service was not representative of an Atherton restaurant and I hope you are able to sort this.
There was no atmosphere in the restaurant on a Saturday night . Tables emptied by 9:30 . No soft music or ambience. Felt like we were eating on the pavement outside .
Given the restaurant was fairly quiet inside, we would have expected a better experience
Best chicken burger in Mayfair 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
From the moment you step into the Biltmore the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Couldn’t fault either the service, food or ambience. Will definitely be going back!
Made to feel very welcome. Service was exemplary and we never felt rushed. Food was delicious although I thought my fish portion was a little small (but maybe that was just hunger from champagne) and I could obviously have ordered more than a salad as a side. The menu choices are good with something to suit every taste. We spent the whole afternoon at the Biltmore avoiding a very raining London. The team were great - moving us to an inside area to enjoy tea with attentive but not obtrusive service.
Lovely outdoor area, perfect for drinks and catch ups with friends
Lovely ambiance, food and attentive service - we really enjoyed the evening
Nestled in a cute courtyard off Grosvenor sq at the back of the hotel, is this chic little niche.
The simple menu is a little pricey but it’s a five star hotel restaurant after all in Mayfair .
Excellent service and perfectly cooked food made it a great meal - but it’s not got the wow factor that would make me hurry back .
Beautiful place and lovely service. Food was great.
Horrendous experience. Beautiful hotel lobby but then ... hard to capture just how bad this was:
- space was a car park improvised into a terrace, would have made sense (and been laudable) 18 months ago when lockdowns started but in May 2021... it was distinctly underwhelming
- the staff clearly couldn’t be bothered tidying up - it looked like a hotel breakfast terrace at 11am i.e. halfway through clean-up, random chairs, occasional tablecloths... a real mess
the service was terrible both to order and pay
- staff were rude, unhappy that we were only ordering drinks (they should have been delighted!)
- drinks were awful - cocktails are more like flat soda mixed with watery ice and a hint of other ingredients...and these drinks weren’t inexpensive...
- no atmosphere / ambience, about 6 other tables occupied
- as we left (hurriedly) spotted that bar had ~ 80 dirty glasses waiting for attention, but none of the staff could be bothered...pretty much sums up
Excellent location in a lovely garden court, loved the atmosphere and the food was great
Alright service, didn’t match the price - was hard to flag down servers and servers were quite short and unfriendly
One of the best restaurants in London; highly recommend!
Lovely evening with good food, wine and fantastic service.
Shame some of the male waiters wore masks on their chins instead of on properly covering, but staff were all very pleasant and attentive. Would come back again.
