This restaurant is permanently closed. We opened this restaurant in 1986 for Joe to showcase his culinary talents and to have a place for our customers to come to have a fine meal and always feel "at home." We carefully select our staff so that they become a part of our family and then in turn, you do too!

After spending much time in our restaurants, our son Joey decided that he, too, wanted to become a part of them. We feel so confident in his skills that we have now turned the management of Busalacchi's over to him.

What happened to the great wine list?? An Italian restaurant that has 4 bottles of Italian wine?? (They were sold out of three).

It's been about 10 years and the old location that I visited last, but needless to say it has gone downhill. Service was great, appetizers were good, but the seafood fettuccine was truly lacking, as were the butternut squash raviolis and the pork tenderloin. I should've just ordered the bolognese.

We had amazing service by Mario on a very quiet Friday night. The pace that Mario set for our meal was perfect for a quiet conversation for a friends meet-up. He did not rush us despite being one of the only tables seated. The food was great and well prepared- fantastic meatballs as an appetizer started the home-cooked pasta special and tasty salads. I would definitely go again when back in San Diego!

Always a nice evening! Service is friendly and attentive. Food is very good but inconsistent. My favorites are always enjoyable but often prepared variably.

No live music tonight because they were out of town... no back up plans?

Nonetheless a very nice 4 instead of 5... I'll come back again soon.

Had the pizza appetizer and meatball appetizer both great. Party had crab pasta, chicken piccata and veal piccata. Three meals were fantastic. Followed up with three desserts. Go for lava cake or lemon cheesecake. Service top notch.

This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants - Spaghetti Carbonara and Fettuccine a la Nonna were excellent, with fresh pasta and great sauce. The dining room is comfortable and quiet enough to talk.

The restaurants' predecessor resturant (same name) website was misleading. The "old " website listed masacholli as an entree - no such thing at the current restaurant. Wine list was misleading. Monday is half off bottle of wine-----over $40 night. I thought I heard the saver say it was half off.
We had a great dinner, but it was rather costly.

Went for an early Saturday dinner, so only locals at the bar. Waiter was very pleasant, kitchen accommodated mix-and-match requests, and food was very good. Happy hour appetizers were both tasty and cheap. Merits a return visit on a nicer night.

I always have such a fantastic time here. The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and attentive. On weekends they have live music on the beautiful patio-- so fun! This is definitely a great spot for a romantic date night or for a family and friend celebration. Be sure to make reservation because this place can fill up. Patio is heated and cozy and indoor dining is romantic.

I have never had a bad meal here. Food is excellent!
