Buca di Beppo - Sacramento

They were out of pizza and lasagna. Then my rigatoni was accident dropped on the floor so we had to get it to go.

Christmas Eve at Buca was very disappointing. 2 hour wait for food. Whole tables were leaving. Server was amazing, the only positive part of the night. Appetizer and salad were great, main courses were just okay, We usually go to Buca every year but will reconsider next year.

Our server was very nice. Unfortunately, it took way too long for our food to arrive. We ended up asking for our food to go because it took so long.

$145 for ceasar salad and spaghetti that I could have made from Costco.

The food and service was great, the AC did not work, it was so hot where we were sitting.

The room we were in was very hot. The waiter was very attentive at the beginning and then halfway through he was nowhere to be found. The food was very bland and expensive for what it was.

Not the best Italian food. Tomato sauce was essentially warm canned diced tomatoes. Interesting building..like a museum of Italian cliche. Definitely a one and done place. Certainly wouldn't go back for the food

Overall great time. Loved the food. Service was good but somewhat spotty.

The food was fine. They don’t really have meat in many things. It’s all cheese in the ravioli and lasagna, but they cover it in a meat sauce.

The only issue i had was that we were placed in a booth with a broken seat, and when we told the staff that it was uncomfortable, they were aware of it and still placed us in that booth prior.

I don’t think that was very good customer service. Nothing against the server, i was just frustrated that the staff up front is placing people there knowing the booth is broken on the seating portion.

I wouldn’t drive from where i live to this location again not because i didn’t like service i just didn’t like that they didn’t have what i wanted .

food was served lukewarm to cold; three entrees came out fast but then the final one, a pizza, took at least 10 more minutes. should have waited and served everyone at the same time. very rude. the a/c was on and it was freezing; excuse was there was only 1 control for the whole building. i have a hard time believing that and it was not warm outside.

Will be our new spot to celebrate all great occasions here.

Horrible. Had a reservation and walked in, no one even acknowledged we were there. Took ten
Minutes for us to get seated. The dust throughout the place was disgustingly filled with dust.

As a party of 2 we dropped in after getting our 2nd vaccine shot. We sat at a table near the bar. The Service was quick, friendly and attentive. We had cocktails, Cheesy Garlic Bread, Salad, Spaghetti and Meatballs and Eggplant Parmigiana. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious; also we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. It was an excellent post-COVID-19 Vaccination celebration. I’ll go back.

Experience was good, we just ordered too much food. Be mindful the large portion is huge so definitely order the mini option.

We weren't aware of the family style portions, 3 or 5 people each entre feeds. The baked ziti was overcooked with very little flavor, mostly dry pasta, the calamari for 3 was more like for 1. The apple gorganzola salad was the best item we tried.

Server was attentive and on it. Short, thin, older, blonde lady. Very spunky and nice. The 2 host / servers were on their phones when we walked up which was rude. Experience was great, service was amazing, will be back again

Food and service were excellent! Family went around 6 pm on a Friday evening. Even in a post-COVID environment, the place was relatively quiet which was nice for us!

Where to start? Although the place was nearly empty, we finally had to flag down a random busboy to ask him to please bring us water and tell our waiter we were ready to order; he told us he'd have the bartender come take our order when he got a chance. The prices have gone way up since we last were there ($35 for a "small" bowl of very average pasta with too few bites of chicken, artichoke or sun-dried tomatoes in it....pasta is 98 cents/pound at Trader Joe's, which is quite a huge profit margin); this isn't Biba's or Il Fornaio, where such prices could be justified by exceptional quality. The only available parmesan cheese was in little paper packets like you'd find in fast food pizza places; when we asked our server if we could get any freshly grated parmesan, he replied "no, this is the exact same stuff"..... um, no, it's not; the second ingredient in the packets is cellulose, which is derived from wood pulp - unlike a wedge of real parmesan. Our waiter/bartender was pleasant enough but kept continuously repeating "not a problem" - as if there was some likelihood that serving our meals might have been a potential problem for him (Him: "How's your food?", Us: "Good, thank you", Him: "Not a problem"). Maybe they could train their staff to say "Thank you" and/or "You're welcome" and/or "My pleasure". They no longer serve tiramisu, and the atmosphere in the place just seemed boring and tired. With so many great restaurants in the greater Sacramento area, we won't be coming back here.

Meatballs were ok but not as good as normal, seem like they may have been prepped a few days in advance. Kind of an old flavor to beef. I felt like they could have done a better job with the outdoor dining setting maybe some partitions or something since it was so close to the busy/loud road. For the few amount of tables they could have done better. Felt like we were on sidewalk. Would have been better set up on side parking lot. The wait staff was very understaffed and stressed and tried their best should have had more help especially when there were so few tables. We originally were told 45 min wait which turned out to be a lie because we made a reservation on open table for 10 minutes later not 45 and were seated fairly quickly. Not sure why they made up the original wait time. Didn't seem welcoming. The manager should do a better job when people are actually willing to dine in during a pandemic. Kudos to wait staff, management please do better.

Such a wonderful meal. And such great service. It had been months since we ate out and it was a lovely experience!

We had to eat outside on the sidewalk due to COVID inside eating restriction. The street noise with all the busy cars at the intersection was just nuts. Less than ideal, but better than having the restaurant closed to togo orders only.

Our waiter was great and gave us great recommendations, however I understand that half my party was late, however if the staff would have let me know there was another party coming soon maybe we would have done things different, I wouldn’t have mind being moved to another table during our dessert instead you guys had a party of 26 come in to the area where we were sitting and had them standing/staring at us while trying to eat our dessert you guys basically booted us out, that was very rude and it was our first time there that it would be nice to celebrate my birthday at Buca di Beppo, we spent a pretty penny just to get treated like that at the end. NOT HAPPY

Booked the pope room for a family birthday. Ulises, our server was very attentive, responsive and made an effort to make the evening special.

Jennie, our Server was excellent. It was a busy weekend because of Valentine’s Day, they were out of a lot of items. She went through what they were out of, but was very accommodating and upbeat. One of the entrees we ordered was supposed to have crisp bacon, which it didn’t. Jennie told the chef & she offered to recook the item, but that wasn’t necessary. The chef did send us home with some crisp bacon for our leftovers. Jennie was always checking to make sure our beverages were filled and we had plenty of bread. We will definitely be back and hope Jennie is our server!

Where do I start. The reservation was for 9:45PM and we got seated at 10:39pm. They said it was because so many people that were already seated we're just sitting and talking which was a lie because right in front of where we were standing for those 54 minutes, where to empty tables that remained empty for at least 20 minutes each and when we got seated, there's we're 5 empty tables around us. The carpets are old, grossly stained, had big holes, rips, and outdated, the walls have faded paint, the wood is chipping and faded, and some of the seats were ripped and fixed with packing tape. I have pictures. Okay the food. After getting over my frustration of waiting so long, I'm anxious to eat. I order lasagna and a meat ball appetizer for my son. My girlfriend orders a carbonated drink and her food. The waitress comes back with the drink that had no taste to it so she says, oh sorry there's machine must have to be cleaned out or more drink syrup added. She leaves the bad drink there. She comes back 3 minutes later, sir we have no more lasagna is there anything else you would like? Sure. Can I have menu so I can look? She gets the menu. I will have the spaghetti and meatballs. Waitress leaves. Comes back 5 minutes later. Sir we only have two meatballs left so the appetizer will be in us. I said fine. What about spaghetti and meatballs I ordered? She gets the most ridiculous, confused look on her face like, "oh yeah huh". She leaves comes back 4 minutes later. Yes sir no meatballs for the spaghetti, would you like to order something else? Yes, can I have they menu please? I ask to speak to the manager. Leaves and gets the menu again. Oh, by the way the bad carbonated drink is still sitting on the table even after they brought the good drink. Food arrives at 11:27PM. Barely any taste in the sauce, hardly any mozzarella cheese on the chicken. Worst, worst, worst experience in any restaurant ever.

I would not recommend this place for special occasions such as Valentine’s Day. Had reservations, didn’t even get seated until 45 mins after. Overbooked and unorganized. Also went for their Valentine’s Day special and was told they were sold out and the kitchen was 30-40 mins behind. Never going here again.
