Lovely brunch in a great place just around the corner from our offices. Will definitely come back.
We were visiting the Haymarket Theatre and Brumus was next door. We had a Wonderfull experience in the restaurant and the food was superb. The waiter we had was exceptional and never rushed or pushed us for more drinks, which usually happens in other fine restaurants. It was my birthday and when they found out, they presented me with a little cake and fruit with a candle. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely return Brumus again in the near future.
The afternoon set was okay, almost considered terrible when compared with the price. The service was poor, I found the staffs quite disrespectful
Simply the best steak tartare I’ve ever eaten. We had the Nutbourne English wine, just to try it, and it was lovely and a good price. The staff were lovely and the room is really comfortable. Great family spot, though we weren’t bothered by noise while just in our own. Delighted we found it. Thank you.
Very nice restaurant. I would definitely go back again.
Really good. Food was excellent from the set menu. We only wanted main, dessert and coffee and they agreed to let us include the coffee rather than a starter. Cakes for dessert are amazing. Service wonderful. A great find.
The bread was really hard and the service was slow (I had to stand up and go to the till and pay and go to the cocktail bar to get a member of staff to our jackets) The white was also not the best for £28. My desert was also dry.
You can see clearly that Brumus is trying to capitalise on the show next door but the quality was poor compared to the other
Hotels with the same chain.
I would not go back there again which is a shame.
Slow but friendly service and food was great good value for money
Great pre theatre venue, walking distance from most of the theatres. Great food and service.
An excellent venue - great decor, friendly quick staff and with today's 3 courses for £20 deal, excellent value. Recommend and would visit again.
Welcoming, attentive staff.
Sufficient choice on menus to cater for our tastes.
Good food, beautifully presented.
Excellent service, we were made to feel valued customers.
Great spot for a pre-theatre lunch. We ate off the lunch menu which is excellent value. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. Service was suitably quick but not a sprint.
Very good choice in a set menu. We booked last minute on a Friday night and were given a lovely corner table, so not too loud but did not feel isolated. Service impeccable. Very good duck and pollock. Dessert cakes weak -coffee and walnut bit dry.
Lovely intimate venue with attentive staff and well priced.
I booked this restaurant for pre-theater meal for my parents. They said they had the best time. Food was great, waiters were really tentative and looked after them really well. Thank you for this experience.
Perfect pre Theatre Royal dinner, complete with Only Fools & horses cocktail option (loved the "Cushty"!) Sea bream was exceptional as was the vegan cheesecake. Chilled ambience, fabulous decor and outstanding service. They even surprised my husband with a Happy birthday chocolate plate. Highly recommended! Thank you for making this special occasion extra special for us.
This is an amazing place. We ate from the pre theatre menu which was incredible value, given the quality of the food. Around £20 for three generous and delicious courses.
Attentive staff, lovely surroundings and a superbly cooked meal. I doubt there is better value anywhere in London.
Brilliantly situated right opposite Her Majesty's Theatre, this is a real find.
This was a pre theatre meal, we went for the set menu, it was satisfactory for the price, the veg could have done with being warmer and the desserts chosen both had little taste. Staff very attentive overall a pleasant experience.
Originally booked because of close proximity to the theatre. What a lovely surprise.
Food really good, as was the ambience and service. Great value for money.
Fantastic restaurant - intimate and stylishly designed, with friendly, attentive service and stand-out food.
Great place to eat either before a show or after a matinee. The set menu is really good value.
It was our first time here on Saturday and it was absolutely divine. We even spoke of the next time we would book up to come
Absolutely perfect service, food and atmosphere. The restaurant over looks Her Majesty’s Theatre so if you are going to see Phantom, book a table for 5pm. We had the set menu with a few extras. Spectacular food and service throughout and a bill less than £60. We will be back.
Great value set lunch at £20... very generous portions, we enjoyed the salmon croquettes immensely. The choice of cakes from the table for dessert were delicious. Only watch out is that water is £5.75 a bottle, so you can really ramp the bill up quickly!
I found the options limited on the set menu. The spiced confit duck was very dry and the spices were uncooked. I left most of it. The waiter asked the generic “how was everything” on picking up my plate. I mentioned about the dryness etc but there was no comment from the waiter.
Really nice food and immaculate service. We went for pre-theatre dinner and they’ve done such a great job to accommodate for the time we had
A nice place, pleasant ambience and good food. A la cart menus is overpriced but set menu choices actually very good. Thursday jazz in the bar spills over into the restaurant - excellent
Great location, nice menu, good value, tasty food
Brumus always perfect following our National Gallery visits. The latest visit didn't disappoint. Service very good with nice set menu (duck especially, very good). Also a very good cocktail bar so our place to complete special days.
Been to this restaurant a few time, but was disappointed on this occasion. The service was very slow. It was 20 minutes before we even got offered water! The vegetarian options on the set menu is usually very good, but was not the usual standard this time. Due to the slow service our dessert was very rushed as we were going to theatre. We mentioned this to the waiter, but he did nothing to speed things up.
This was a wonderful place to have a pre lunch meal before the theatre. The service was excellent and the food very good value!
Super place, super staff. Fabulous location and nice cocktail bar too!
Enjoyable pre-theatre meal. Waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. Food was great - in fact, we were too full to have one of the tempting looking cakes so the waiter helpfully offered us the option of either returning after the show or take away. Whilst food was good value, drinks seem quite expensive and the small glass of wine on offer for an extra £5 with the pre-theatre menu was not that good. Otherwise, I would go again but just have water with the meal.
We had the open table set menu with prosecco. Excellent value. Service was outstanding - attentive, warm, and friendly, but not over the top. Food delicious and large portions. I have already recommended it to friends.
Brumus lived up to expectations as always! A nice way to start the year
Food was good. I went there with a set menu but when we had the bill, we were charged separately for each course and the drink. They revised the bill, however, the dessert and the drink was still charged separately. We didn't complain again but after we left the restaurant we realized that the starter wasn't served. I only ate a main and dessert which was charged on top of the menu price. I paid the full menu price just for a main. It was a completely disaster and very disappointing for our first time there...
We had the pre theatre menu. Exceptional value at £19.99 for 3 courses, all were delicious. Service was very good and they let us have a break between main course and dessert. Very friendly staff and we were finished in plenty of time to go the show. We would definitely eat here again.
Although our meal wasn’t the best , our mash was cold and the spinach was vinegary, the fish was lovely. The manager was brilliant in dealing with our complaint and the layout of the bar next to the restaurant is very cosy.
A very pleasant pre theatre dinner in nice relaxing surroundings. Service & food very good.
