Maine Lobster Bisque
8 oz the flank's lesser known sibling; it's thicker, and more flavorful. Served over caramelized onions, chimichurri, crispy artichoke hearts and brussels sprouts, parmesan garlic sauce
Service was slow which is expected right now. Food was decent but wasn’t as good as expected for the price point.
Kansas City standard is still good, though the menu is fairly basic. Nothing to complain about this visit, good food and the usual excellent service. Filet Oscar was ok (very fine grained crab meat, more suitable for cakes or mixing into other dishes) and seared halibut was quite nicely seared but could have used a bit of a sauce. Starters were their very excellent lobster bisque and a shrimp cocktail with a nice remulade (tasted slightly of cucumber, maybe?) as well as the traditional cocktail sauce with a generous dollop of horseradish. It would be nice to see a little more ambition in the menu and presentation, but for very well prepared and excellently sourced fish, with some of the best service in KC, you still can't go wrong with Bristol.
Excellent food with prompt service. Roman was our server and he did a great job providing recommendations. First time here and it won’t be out last.
Seasoning on steak made me sick
Our waitress was awesome. She had so many tables to wait on . She even brought out the bread tray herself. Great food and service !!
Our server was extremely attentive and made sure that we had everything we could possibly need. The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the most delicious crab cakes. The goat cheese appetizer was sublime and refreshing. The seared scallops and lobster risotto were to die for. I usually don’t order grilled asparagus but I was so happy I did, they had a tiny bit of crunch but not so much that they tasted uncooked. From start to finish the meal was superb!!!
This was our first time and won't be our last.
This will be our go-to restaurant when attending events at T-Mobile Arena.
The food was cooked properly and service was great.
While the food was great, the waiter was horrible, and the noise level was really too high for talking. We could have had dismissed the noisy environment and all the sports TV distractions had our waiter been "present." He was not attentive in the least. Having the worst service doesn't make us want to return.
We normally love The Bristol, but unfortunately this last experience was lacking. We live downtown, but normally make the drive to Leawood. This time we decided to visit the our neighborhood P&L location and were sadly unimpressed with the visit. The ambiance was quiet, our server was nice, but not the most attentive and hardly wore his mask and the food was underwhelming. My husbands lobster mac-n-cheese was dry, they brought mashed potatoes instead and they were cold. My lobster risotto was runny. My husband’s blackened swordfish and my maple glazed salmon were good. We still love the Bristol must of just had an off night and know for future we will visit the Leawood location and our favorite server, Carrie. Heads up, you need cash for the valet and if you give a $20 be prepared for them not to have change..
Outstanding service. Great management staff!
Everything was great!’ I highly recommend giving them a try
awesome dinner - as expected....great service though the servers were beyond busy....they showed up for work so we were super grateful for them!
Antoine was a very good server. He was polite, attentive, thoughtful, and fun.
We went for Sunday brunch. The smashed potatoes were excellent and came with both our meals, but was only $3 for a side if you wanted to add. Our waiter, Tyler, was friendly and efficient. Would definitely return if I were ever visiting Kansas City again
Not as good as the Overland Park location.
We had our first experience here last night. The server was nice and attentive! It was not a “fast”
Dinner which was fine with us. They were completely full with reservations so I felt everything went smooth with the amount of people! Lobster bisque was amazing. Husband got a seafood platter- shrimp, salmon, and crab cake were all amazing. I had the prefix which is a great Value. The dessert was HUGE! It was not the best steak I’d ever eaten but everything else was great.
To start we were seated very kindly. Very slow to be acknowledged by server. But he was a very nice guy and a good server. Ordered crab cakes appetizer for 21$. This was a utter disappointment. 2 small scoops( literally scoops from a small ice cream type scoop). It was as if they were placed under the broiler for 3 min then served. Very wet and watery and loose inside. The fennel salad far far out weighed the loose meat crab scoop. I suggest seeking out Chef Mike Nachbar and incorporating his recipe with yours. Use the flat top or sear the cakes. House salad was the best part of then meal. The special sea bass had all the potential to be one of the best plates I’ve ever had. How ever there was a an over abundance of salt. I don’t mean just a little. I mean it was slated cooked and the heavily salt again. ( I typically salt everything myself had I done this without tasting I would have choked). I did finish the plate but warned the server I doubted if anyone else would if it was served as mine was. He said he told the lead line cook. There were very few people there at 145 pm so the line was not stressed in any way. I so wanted a great meal that was memorable and I certainly got one….but one that is negative and not positive from the food aspect. Server was good and I did not let the food effect the tip.
I can only hope your food experience is better should you go to the one in power and light.
Yummy but expensive and glad we had a reservation.
It was fantastic!!
Excellent food and reliable service as always. A bit pricy by worth it. A great spot for an impressive lunch or pre-show dinner.
We were there for a birthday celebration. The ambience was great. The food was good.
Delicious food and exceptional service
Outstanding menu selections, including a large selection of the Catch of the Day...beautiful al fresco dining, or inside at a table, or at their luxurious bar...excellent service offered by their entire team...it was a Monday evening and a limited number of clients, but I highly recommend one their Swordfish, ahi Mahi, or Cod offerings, along with their Caesar salad, and some veggies...
We love the food and service and will return for many more occasions. The noise level at times is distracting and makes it difficult to have table conversations.
Very nice place to eat. No complaints about anything.
Excellent food and excellent service. Very noisy but still one of our favorite restaurants.
Hailey was a wonderful server! Worked with us with food sensitivities and when our steak wasn't cooked right!
Food was excellent, we love the Bristol, service was average this time.
I wouldn’t call the noise level energetic but the word “Loud” it was loud. I’m glad I made a reservation. I haven’t been there since New Years Day dinner and it was much quieter.
A bit chaotic checking in and a wait even with a reservation but nonetheless, delicious food and our server kaile was wonderful.
Too noisy. Food good but service was spotty
Initial service was good and quick. But slowed down and service was delayed
The server had too many tables with a large group of +20 people. Our order was wrong! Lobster bisque was not ordered then placed after the fact. Therefore, the steak and lobster bisque came at the same time which is not ideal at all.
Hands down! Best meal I have ever had! Almost an overstimulation of flavor if such a thing is possible. Bristol is one of those experiences that you will think about constantly until you can visit again.
I normally love the Bristol but the quality of the food this visit was just not up to par. When you get one mixed drink a piece and order $200 worth of food for two people you expect to have good quality. The lobster mac and cheese was dried out almost like it had been setting out in its small pot and not fresh. My salmon was extremely dry. I was disappointed in the experience this visit.
Good food as usual!
Not fine dining, but dependable, good food at fair prices. Perfect portion size for us. Service was great! Not difficult to get a reservation.
Service was extremely slow and we did not receive
Had a reservation and someone with same name as mine came in and they gave away my table. We had to wait until a table was found.
Hostess advised us at 7pm of 45 min wait after saying we didn’t have a reservation, we stepped outside and made a reservation time for 7:15 - many table were open. When we returned to the hostess stand - we witnessed host quote couple in front of us 10 mins. Our server was forgetful on some items overall - food was good. They also Carried Eagle Rare Which was a nice Whiskey bonus.
