Lump Crab Bisque
With Louisiana mirliton, sherry finish, roe garni.
Lump crab meat, hollandaise, heirloom pommes frites, baby green beans.
Baby market greens, eggplant caviar, fresh goat cheese, petite tomatoes and dressing.
We’ve worked in the food service industry for several years, and have also never before written a restaurant review. Cocktails were great! The waiter was unnecessarily arrogant. The ribeye was thin, soured, and overcooked (probably because it had turned prior to cooking). The potatoes were less comparable to frozen breakfast potatoes. The redfish was dry and not seemingly fresh. We have to give credit for the scallops, they were good! This was a very disappointing waste of $180 (two cocktails, two entrees, and tip- yes, we still tipped appropriately).
Food was fantastic if you can get the redfish on the half shell absolutely fantastic
Very nice atmosphere though it might get loud when full. An excellent meal in every way. Great service. Friendly staff. A GREAT, well balanced, wine list. Over 120 different wines. Many by the glass.
The Seafood Gumbo was OK. Not oversalted thankfully
A very interesting and tasty Oysters Rockefeller. Creamed spinach topped with tender fried oysters. YUM 😋. John would be proud 😉
Crawfish and goat cheese crepes were good.
Whole Snapper was EXCELLENT as was my friend's Blackened Red Fish Fresh and perfectly grilled
The Chocolate Creme Brulee was a first. Good and interesting

We had a great time the goat cheese crepes, and bisque will definitely bring us back to Briquette.
Very large venue with sound reservations amplified. Food was decent and value was fair. Good for families with loud children and groups that don’t mind not actually hearing one another.
Restaurant was empty, asked for table away from others due to COVID but placed next to the only other patrons In restaurant. All tables around us filled up but several sections were wide open. Asked to move but answer was NO!
My wife & I really enjoyed the delicious food- if you enjoy the freshest seafood & steaks cooked by exquisite chefs this is the place for you. The waiter told us the recipes have been
passed down for generations!

Outstanding service. Our server had wonderful recommendations. The restaurant was quiet and comfortable for good conversation. Food was slow to arrive, but incredibly prepared and delicious.
Picked a time when the crowd was very light so we had a table to ourselves. Jeffery, our server, was very helpful in selecting two great seafood dinners. Good location in the arts district.

Wait time once seated was a little long. Ordered Oyster Rockafeller and was served Shrimp Rockafeller instead. At desert, waiter offered one dish, but subbed it for another without consent. Probably won’t go back.
Do you have a charger of the seafood toppings for $20 per person for shrimp. That seems excessive. Otherwise the food was fantastic

It was ok… I would not recommend it to another person BU I would also not tell someone not to eat there. For the price of the meal I would expect a higher quality meal and experience. Sorry.
The decor is beautiful. The food was very good. The service was a touch slow BUT everyone was there for the Sugar Bowl, so it was busy. My only complaint is the policy for the bill. We were with a group of 13 and they would not split the bill at all. With this being a major event town, there must be a more modern way of dealing with this. We had a few people with us that were meeting for the first time so it's more than embarrassing to have to have the conversations about how much money they owe you etc. For a finer dining restaurant, I feel it's a bit unnecessary.
It was NYD so service was slow, our poboys were on hamburger buns and not dressed great but the shrimp and fish was delicious
This is our second time to eat at Briquette. It looks like others have found our secret restaurant! But we got in easily with Open Table, and they were able to take us early. We’ve now visited at both lunch and at dinner. It’s a great place for either! Try street parking nearby first. If it’s full, park at the Riverwalk mall/Hilton lot and walk between the buildings. We split a shrimp poboy and each got a small bowl of gumbo, and it was perfect for a light lunch. When we visited before for dinner, we picked out our seafood and steak cuts, and went all out for a special valentines dinner with friends. I’m so glad this place made it through the pandemic shut downs. We were glad to have a place to run in and eat before the Sugar Bowl this year.

Food was excellent. Service was poor. I received the wrong meal but still ate it and it was awesome. Wine pairings came out all at the same time.

Service was great. Food was extremely disappointing. I am one who puts a lot of stock in the reviews so I was disappointed by the food we ordered. It may have been a one off thing but still not great.
The food was mediocre: under seasoned and unbalanced flavors, with drastically different substitutions made from what was on the menu. Our server was great, and the environment was fine, but nothing could really make up for three very sub-par courses.
This was our second visit within the past month. First visit was very good. Second visit makes us wonder if we will go back.
The service was extremely slow. Our server was lackluster. It was almost 15 minutes after being seated until he came to take our drink order. A little bit longer until we received our drinks. One drink was so ill-prepared, we sent it back.
Gumbo was good albeit lukewarm. Had it been appropriately hot, I'm sure it would have been very good.
We waited more than 30 minutes after appetizers for our entrees. The Visiting Whole Fish was excellent. The chicken picatta looked like a piece of meat which had been attacked by the meat hammer. Rather than a nice golden appearance, it looked like a piece of flat meat which had been cooked in a microwave. There was a bit of sauce drizzled over it. It was accompanied by pasta in a cast iron pan which the server told us was very hot. Both the pasta and the pan were cold. The chicken and pasta were sent back and we told the server to not bring a replacement. The presentation of the chicken alone would have been embarrassing to me if I were the cook.
The manager came over immediately after we requested and was very sympathetic. We addressed our concerns politely and she did credit the chicken and I believe offered us dessert on the house, which we declined.
Probably the most shocking part of the night was when our server came with the bill, he was carrying dirty dishes in his other hand and just dropped the bill in front of my girlfriend. We had been both nice and polite with him even when registering our complaints so I thought this somewhat odd. In any case, I still left a very generous tip on what would have been the full amount of the bill in the hopes that he was just having an off night.

I had the blackened redfish & he had the salmon plus a sweet treat at the end for his bday! Plus the drinks were really tasty

The Oysters Bienville En Casserole was highlight of the our meal, everyone at the table enjoyed the appetizer. It is definitely large enough to be a meal on its own.
Food was good. Showed up at 8:30, kitchen closed at 9. Server was somewhat rushed as a result. Overall it is a fine place to eat if you do not want to walk far from your hotel.
I had the Christmas menu with wine tasting. Husband and son has medallions with scallops. Portions were large. Everything was delicious and our waiter, Michael, was fun and attentive. I would return.

Funny you should ask. Arrived at appointed time to find restaurant closed. OpenTable really dropped the ball on this one. Lesson is don't rely on OpenTable confirmation. Call restaurant directly to confirm.
We were coming in from out of town and booked Briquette way in advance so we could be assured a table for a party of six. Open Table took the reservation and then, when it got close to the date, it confirmed it. When we got to Briquette, they weren't even open. The restaurant was closed the night of our reservation. Needless to say, it's next to impossible at a busy time of year to get into a restaurant with a larger group last minute so we ended up finding food at a place we would never return to. Shame on Briquette for not managing their reservation system better. I talked to the hostess when the restaurant reopened at she said sorry, they've had that problem before.
I am from Michigan and was in New Orleans for vacation. I made my reservations online months ago but when I arrived the restaurant was closed. I did not receive any notice that my reservations were for a day they would be closed. The restaurant looks beautiful on the outside but other than that I wished I would have known about their change in hours.
We spent Christmas in New Orleans and made reservations to dine here on Christmas Eve. Menu selections was amazing so was the bar menu. I’m glad we made reservations because it was very busy. I’m glad they checked our vaccine cards and ID as it is a mandate in New Orleans. Although this restaurant is upscale, I was surprised that there were no white table cloths on each of the tables. It was just a wood top. The condensation from my iced beverages created quite a puddle.
Regardless, the experience was lovely. We would eat here again.
