Lovely experience celebrating retirement. Hope to return to Houston or New Orleans soon to spoil ourselves again.
As always, a fabulous Sunday brunch! It’s a real treat.
My friends and I very much enjoyed our brunch experience at Brennan's.
Excellent service, food presentation, outstanding servers who helped make this birthday celebration special! A perfect setting for a celebration of any kind.
We have not been to Brennans in years. We were so impressed with the service and atmosphere - along with the food. We did the Chef's tasting with wine pairings. Chef presented each dish himself and the portions were very generous. The wine pairings were perfect and generous. We will definitely be coming back!
Food & drinks were great
Excellent food and even better service! We throughly enjoyed our lunch! They even had the table set up with Balloons for my husbands birthday which made it extra special! They also gave him a special dessert, you just don’t see this kind of hospitality anymore so it was extra special!
Our dinner came out as if it was lacking flavor. Everything was either bland, over cooked or both. You can tell the server wasn’t excited to be there. It was as if he was a robot. Just doing the steps. No emotions.
I know people came in for HRW, but that does not excuse the lack of hospitality. Very disappointed
I try to eat at Brennan's at least once a year as it is really terrific. So even though we are in the midst of the pandemic, my husband & I chose to go there for Houston Restaurant Week. I was pleasantly surprised that they changed out the chairs in the dining room. They now have wingback chairs which help separate diners along with social distancing. They also add to the elegance of the room.
Our waiter was very good; he pointed out that there were two specials in September, and we chose the $99 September Special for two. I had delicious turtle soup for an appetizer, and my husband had the Brennan's salad. The salad was tasty, but it was just a salad. My soup was of course very good, as it is a house specialty. We both ordered the filet mignon for an entrée, and it was wonderful. It had more flavor than the average filet, and the side dish of mushrooms, brussel sprouts and potatoes complemented it well. Dessert was exceptional - bananas foster prepared table side. I hope we can return to the restaurant soon. It was worth the risk.
It’s BRENNAN’S, it’s always fabulous!! The service, the ambience, the food is always superb, and this time was no different. We ordered from the HRW Menu, and were happy with the many choices. We ordered dessert from regular menu because I had to have the wonderful Lemon Meringue pie. Brennan’s is a beautiful restaurant and Houston is lucky to have it here for so many years.
A very nice brunch. Always enjoy dining here for diner or brunch.
Just like being at Commanders Palace in New Orleans without the drive. We went for Restaurant Week's brunch menu. Truly a treat!
Still one of the classiest restaurants in Houston. Fantastic food and service in an elegant setting. The patio will make you feel like your deep in the French Quarter. Everything on the menu is outstanding and you can't go wrong with any selection.
They have a great $99 Wine and Dine for 2 that includes a bottle of nice wine and 3 course meal. It's the best restaurant value in the city!!! Only last through September, don't miss it. The filet on the Wine and Dine menu will rival top end steakhouse in Houston.
Overall pleasant experience. Great food. Service interaction was great, it was however fairly slow and we didn’t get a side we ordered or dessert. Wasn’t an issue in end as entrees were large portions and very filling.
They let us choose from either the lunch menu or the price fixe menu. Great selections.
Good wine list. Good whiskey selection.
Outdoor patio is the best!
This was our first time and we loved EVERYTHING we ordered. We were especially excited about your liquor selection— Eagle Rare and Blanton’s. The service was wonderful. We will be back soon.
Great experience from valet to the host to our waiter.
The staff and food always make it a special occasion!
Great Anniversary meal! Excellent service and the food was wonderful.
This is not the same Brennan’s it was a few years ago. The food was a flavorless attempt at New Orleans cuisine. The menu looks looks nothing like a Brennan’s or any of the great New Orleans restaurants. The services was not Brennen’s level but still better than most places. Something has changed and not for the better. Very disappointing.
Brennan's is one of my favorite places to dine. The food and ambiance is excellent and you feel the New Orleans roots of this restaurant. I would recommend for any meal and the Restaurant Week Menu is a great value.
Great night, with great food and a quiet room to visit and enjoy my wife’s birthday with our daughter. The food was prepared perfectly and Bananas Foster is always a big hit with the girls. We had a great night and enjoyed both the food/drink and wait staff.
We were placed in what was basically an event space upstairs. There was a loud wedding going on in the space right next to us with loud wedding music and a loud crowd. The room we were in was large and there was zero ambiance. I felt like I was in a hotel conference room- horrible. Not what I was expecting from Brennan’s. Our table was close to the entrance door. The table was slanted down at about a 10 degree angle. Very very strange. We were facing one other couple and because of the room layout sound carried easily and both of us were having to whisper so as to not get into the conversation of the other. It was extremely awkward. Eventually others were seated in the room which helped the situation. We ordered without incident but my mom did not get her food at the time mine came out. Apparently someone forget to put her order in so we had to wait about 15 minutes as they cooked her meal. Not good. This was her 70th birthday and it didn’t go well. They did offer a free desert for the issue but I would have rather had the food come out as expected. The food was all excellent as expected but the other issues just did not leave me impressed. Hopefully they were just having an off day.
I love Brennan’s, my husband & I were married there and when I was young my family had Easter lunch there every year.
It is such a legendary restaurant. The best place in Houston to celebrate a special event.
We went last week and were so pleased that it has not changed, food great, service great, can’t wait to go back,
What’s not to like about turtle soup! The Houston restaurant weeks menu was great. Thank you for that. Double teamed with servers; always great service here.
Excellent Sunday brunch at Brennans choosing from the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu.
Food- amazing! Service- OK- I think our waiter was new. I am not a fan of Brennan’s annex room- I want to be seated in the main dining room.
Per usual, the food was outstanding and worth every penny. The only negative aspect to our experience was our server. At the start of our meal, he greeted us and too great care of us. However, the end of the meal was not the same experience. While preparing our Bananas Foster, he would periodically try to get the attention of other staff, possibly due to an issue at another table. From this point forward, he seemed to be in a different mood and we felt like we were a bother to him. Seeing as he was welcoming at the beginning of the meal, I’ll chalk it up to a one off and will definitely return for many more meals.
Great food, delightful service.
Wonderful safe experience, as always!
Same service and food quality I have come to expect from Brennan's, even though COVID blunted the anniversary dinner a little. Exec Chef came by to inquire about how I liked the new short ribs (fantastic if you like your ribs a little sweet and not spicy). Perfectly made martini. COVID seems to have caused them to relax the somewhat famous dress code a bit - saw some jeans, tasteful but collarless shirts where once it was jacket required for lunch even. Not a loss in 100 degree heat, IMO.
Always great to be at Brennans. Nice Lunch options for Houston Restaurant Weeks, including the 25 cent martinis!
Delicious and Sophisticated. Food and ambiance was perfect for a GNO, birthday, anniversary, biz meeting, or an upgraded dinner. Bread pudding, filet mignon, and the bread was phenomenal. Drinks were strong, wine was tasty, service was alright (late night) and I had a blast! Managers also checked in. This is a great place for diversity as well!
The standard for fine dining and service for years.
This is a special Houston restaurant. It is for special occasions and worth going when you just feel
Like great food.
Service and food are always excellent!
Food was good, but not worth the price. Loved our waiter and all the staff. Drinks were great.
Excellent service and the food was delicious.
Service was wonderful unfortunately the food wasn't quite as good as it has been in the past. The redfish cake just didn't work
