Since our 1967 opening as a sister restaurant to the world-famous Commander’s Palace in New Orleans, Brennan's of Houston has evolved into the city's premier destination for memorable dining served with true Southern hospitality.

NEW Casual Dining, Courtyard & Courtyard Bar: Courtyard Casual Attire Encouraged. Gentlemen, grab your favorite guayabera or laid-back dress shirt. Ladies, show off your summer style with a fun, casual flair.

In our main dining rooms: we enforce a dress code minimum of business casual. Jackets are preferred but not required. We do not allow shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, torn jeans, baseball caps, or athletic wear in the main dining rooms.

    As someone who grew up eating authentic Creole food, I had high hopes for Brennan’s of Houston, a much-celebrated New Orleans-style restaurant known for its fine dining and Southern charm. The reputation certainly precedes it—elegant interiors, attentive staff, and an atmosphere that aims to transport you straight to the French Quarter. To be clear, the service was excellent. From the moment I walked in, the staff made every effort to create a welcoming and polished experience. They were knowledgeable, timely, and professional—exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant with Brennan’s pedigree. However, when it came to the food, I found myself underwhelmed. Dishes that traditionally carry deep soul and spice seemed tailored for a more mainstream or tourist-friendly palate. It wasn’t bad, just not remarkable—especially if you grew up with the real thing. In short, Brennan’s offers great service and a beautiful setting, but if you’re seeking soul-deep Creole flavor, you may leave wanting more.

    Dress code prominently displayed. Not in any way shape or form enforced. Wait staff seemed frustrated and never asked if we’d like another drink or anything. Brennan’s has fallen way off the mark and I’ve been eating here since it opened in Houston.

    If you come to Houston, Brennan’s is a must! The service was outstanding; absolutely superior! Ambiance is lovely. The restaurant certainly attracts an older crowd. Food was good, but nothing special. It’s the entire experience that is special!

    Brennan's is our go to restaurant for a nice dinner date when we are in Houston. This trip it was nothing less than superb! The wait staff was attentive and engaging. The food was outstanding. The sommelier was helpful in selecting the perfect wine for our meal. Kudos to Brennan's for consistently being a 5 star restaurant.

    It was just ok. Food was ok. Service was really off. We waited for drinks, food and check. Took 25 min to get our drinks, probably over and hour to get a starter. And we had to ask a bus boy for bread….waiter forgot and we were really hungry waiting for any food to arrive. Just not the service I expect for a place with their price point and reputation.
