Lovely evening out with great gravlax appetizer and good pate. Salads were both excellent - the romaine and the butter lettuce. Welcome find of the duck confit. Perfectly done with interesting artichoke and gnocchi to accompany. Pork chop was excellent and steak fits were good. Sometimes the Frits are the star. Good service always makes a an evening more enjoyable.

Gravalax wasn't as good as usual, we requested no onions in our salad and they were included, martinis were good but small. Entrees were good....short rib and pork chop. Great live entertainment we enjoyed . We'll be back.....

A very pleasant evening. Our server had the foresight to ask us if we were going to the theater and paced our dinner accordingly. We didn’t feel rushed. I had the Mussels Provencale, and my friend had the sablefish. Both excellent with our glasses of chenin blanc. Thank you for a nice evening.

We love the atmosphere, it feels like you're in a warm, welcoming French cafe/restaurant. Lovely staff, very attentive, and the owner is very friendly! The food is wonderfully unique and delicious, and the cocktail selection is really fun. Perfect place to dine before any of the theatre shows in the area!

What a disaster. The restaurant is pretty but it is a train wreck of a place – a most poorly managed, muddled mess. The restaurant was not 1/3 full, yet it took over 15 minutes to get our cocktails, even though I could see them complete, languishing and getting warm on the bar. There were 4 people behind the bar – yet not one of them was capable of walking 20 feet to deliver them. We ordered the mussels. They were fabulous, prepared well and served with a large portion of frites. However, the only utensil we had with which to eat them was a large dinner fork – they serve a LOT of mussels here (it is their specialty) – table settings to accommodate would be expected. We ordered wine which came in a reasonable amount of time. And then the wait began for our second course (salad and soup). And we waited. And we waited. Finally, the waiter appeared: With our entrees!! We sent them back, asked for our second course, and then the place hit rock bottom. The chef had already left the kitchen (we actually watched him pile all of his personal stuff on the bar, take a shot, and go outside). The Chef Has Left The Building!!!!! Sadly, that meant there was no one in the kitchen to prepare our food, the kitchen had closed and put all the food away, and we still did not have salad or soup or new entrees. This caused a huge hullabaloo with the staff – whispered conversations, furtive glances at us, staring at computer screens – but NO FOOD, no explanation, no apology. There was no food to bring us, and no one had the nerve to tell us. We got up and walked out. We asked for the manager, the self-identified owner finished his beer while we stood waiting and we explained what had happened and informed him we were leaving to go across the street to the beautiful Ella to get some dinner. And that is what we did, and it was wonderful (Ella always is) and we will NEVER return to Brasserie du Monde and I strongly suggest you never patronize this place.

We were greeted right away, friendly and attentive. Service was good throughout our meal. Food 5 stars .. the BEST mussels we have eaten in a long time. Filet cooked exactly as requested. Extensive wine list and bar. Decor is awesome , music level acceptable. My husband and I had a terrific evening. Bonus .. there is free parking underneath the restaurant.. elevator to restaurant level.

Service started strong. Friendly and also knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly. Then...there was a looong wait for the entrees. Our server had become scarce and never came by to explain the lag. I finally spoke to the manager who assured we were next. The entrees were good. But, since we had a show which we had told our server about at the beginning of the meal the delay was stressful.

What I like best about this place is the convenient parking under the building and the atmosphere that reminds me vaguely, as I left Europe thirty years ago, my country of origin. The staff is very nice and attentive but keep changing all the time, the food is interesting because the menu is obviously French, by the way there are so many spelling mistakes as no one in this place master French grammar apparently, but it is prepared by people of other cultural background and in my mind, they are pretty successful! I had all the dishes over the time and I like them all… When Ella on the other side of the street is closed or full, try this brasserie, it’s nice and simple, not pretentious, and less expensive.

My friends and I appreciated the pleasant outdoor dining area and the great service provided by our waitress. We thoroughly enjoyed the deviled eggs, salad, and mussels. All were delicious. However, the rib eye steaks priced at $52/each were very disappointing and definitely NOT worth the price. The steaks were rather thin (half inch thick), extremely tough, surprisingly flavorless, and not cooked to order. We literally used our steak knives to SAW through the meat. Not what we expected from this class of restaurant or price level.

Our reservation was for 5:30pm and we got seated right away. We were sat in a quiet area all to ourselves for most of our dining experience. The food was great! Got the beef tartare, shrimp and bread as appetizers. All very flavorful and nicely plated. For the entrees, we got the braised beef which was so tender that the meat just came right off. We also got the gnocchi and lived the flavor combinations. We ended the night with a crème brûlée which was delicious!

Our group was seated promptly with our table already prepared for us. Service was attentive and friendly. The peach and Barata salad was exceptional. The Halibut special with risotto was delicious. Great choice for dining before the theatre.
