Some of the worst quality steaks we have ever tasted. They charged for American Wagyu but admittedly served a regular NY Strip. The strip and filet we not only flavorless but tougher than we have ever experienced. The filet is the most tender cut and it was so chewy my wife didn't eat it. Skip the flavorless morel mushroom sauce, powdered creme with some frozen or canned morels. On a positive, that was better than the truffle butter sauce, guessing that was powdered truffle with butter. Give your chef some lessons in seasoning and how to buy quality beef. Once never again.

We went to dinner there on Saturday night. You have to wait in line to get into the casino which is not fun at all but they kept our table for us and our host was SUPER nice. He came and checked on us multiple times. Our waitress was amazing and the food was delicious!

Could have saved $150 and went to Applebee’s. French onion soup was great As was the corn/Chile stuff. Steaks were just ok. Filet was cooked perfectly but had little flavor but priced mid range and fair. The ribeye was very disappointing for a $70 dollar steak. Very thin and basic, could have purchased five ribeyes at the local grocery store and every one would have been better. Staff was good and the waitress was excellent.

We had a 2115 reservation. It took at least 15 minutes for the server to take our drink order. We placed our food order as soon as he brought our drinks. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive at the table. We had very little contact with our server. He brought the bills shortly after we started eating making us feel rather rushed. There were three other tables with customers dining. Their waitstaff interaction was much more professional and the other waitstaff visited their tables several times to make sure everything was to satisfaction for their guests. My nephews Salmon was cold and my daughters filet mignon was way undercooked for medium. She is pregnant and she couldn’t have it cooked more because our waitstaff did not return to the table in a timely manner. The twice baked potato was inedible. My king crab pasta was good but not great. The server never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks, nor did he ask if anyone wanted desert. I love Bourbon 72! Prior to this experience, our meals have been amazing! I understand people have bad days, but this dining experience was one of the worst I’ve had in a very long time. Every other time we’ve dined at Bourbon 72, the service and meals have been excellent! Sorry for the bad review but I talk very highly about your Resturant to all my family and friends. This time I won’t be discussing it with anyone. Thank you.

Service was excellent. My wife's meal was very good, her steak was done as per request and was very flavorful. I ordered the filet mignon , expecting a superior cut of beef. What I got was undoubtedly the worst piece of meat I have ever been served in a restaurant. It was 40-50% fat and gristle and what meat was there was mediocre and somewhat tough. I was told other patrons had complained about that cut. Everything else was very good but somewhat pricey.

I reserved a tall booth and we were directed to a table until I I asked for what was requested. It was very kind of the restaurant to provide a free dessert for my Mother’s 79th birthday. Food was delicious as usual.

We went there for our anniversary 7/11/20. We had a reservation right at the dinner hour. We were seated right away at a lovely corner booth. Our server was great. The food was prompt. Everything we had was great tasting. It was a great experience for both of us.

Our food was some of the best we’ve had and we tour the country a lot. The only thing that got us was the service. The decanter was filthy was finger prints and soap scum. The server was stumbling over every item on the menu and wasn’t personable. We don’t know if it was covid related and couldn’t be by the table much. But didn’t feel very welcoming. All in all we will return again for the bourbon and wine list and food. Just hope after all this is done that the service will be a little more welcoming

What they call waygu beef and charge $59 for is nothing more than a grisly tough bone. I got 3 edible bites. The rest was bone and gristle. I complained and was told that's the appropriate cut. Lmao. What a disgrace!! Talked to the hotel g.m. he didn't care. So obviously it's standard for them to serve cuts of meat that are not what they say they are.

This was our first experience with Bourbon's 72. We have dined at many of the finer restaurants in the Traverse City area in the past. We also were aware, in a general sense, the pricing of the entre's at Bourbon's.

The wait staff was pretty good but they also were not very busy...about 50% capacity. The food was average. We each (I and my wife) each had a salad, our entre', and shared a desert. My wife also had two glasses of wine and I had two cocktails. With tip, our bill was $180.00.

We have no problem spending this amount for a great dining experience. However, when you spend that much on a meal there is NO room for shortcomings. When you spend nearly $200.00, you should walk away VERY satisfied with the food, the wait staff, and the whole experience. Bourbon's fell very short.

What I would suggest is that the management staff at Bourbon's dine at Red Ginger in Traverse City to understand what this means. Your pricing for entre's would be in the highest 5% in the Traverse City area. When the fare is as expensive as yours, diners are looking for an experience. It is/was not there.

We will not be back.

Frank the Maitre d' was phenomenal! He made awesome recommendations and remembered our names from the previous evening. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and ensured we had an excellent experience. The food was top scale. Highly recommend the Lobster bisque, oysters were extremely fresh, King Crab was totally worth the price, the filet was cooked perfectly and crab cakes are to die for!

A dedicated staff who listens and goes above and beyond to make the atmosphere for your occasion perfect. The best Prime Rib I have ever tasted. The sides are made with incredible care for not just taste but presentation and creativity. The chef certainly is ahead of many others in talent I've encountered by far.

Love Bourbons 72.. We’re regulars.. they rarely disappoint! Frank, the maitre d / manager is awesome! Food is excellent and so is the atmosphere. Our only complaint is in the lounge/ bar area... service isn’t great in the bar. The service is excellent in the restaurant however. Totally recommend!
