Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.
Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small-batch whiskey.

Vegan Frozen Bourbon Milk Punch

Spectacular food, great bourbon, all around an excellent experience.
The restaurant did require our Covid vaccination cards; however, very few waiters were wearing their masks over their nose or mouth. Our waiter never did cover either his nose or mouth and continually leaned over all of us. So that kind of set the tone for the evening; I cannot recommend this restaurant for Covid safety right now. Brennan's on the other hand...highly recommend for food, service and Covid precautions! Sadly Bourbon House is a no at this time.
Service was lacking from our server Stephanie. Our table of 4 all ordered appetizers and only 2 of 4 were delivered before having to ask why…It was obvious the server forgot about my soup because she had to ask which one I had ordered….Even after soup came out my wife’s oysters had yet to have been delivered. Later during the entree round my shrimp were delivered without the requested tartar sauce which is further evidence of lack of good customer service.
On the positive side the entrees were cooked to order and very good. The pineapple bread pudding for dessert was delicious and highly recommended.
Food, Service, & atmosphere was fantastic.
Overall good but had to send my steak back to be cooked more and it came back still not cooked correctly. Did not have the energy to send it back again
It was our final dining experience in New Orleans before catching a flight home. We were received warmly and enjoyed our appetizers - gumbo for him and corn/crawfish soup for me. I thought the soup was ok (not special; a bit thin) and the gumbo was fine -not the best NOLA has to offer.
I ordered the fried seafood platter but requested alligator in lieu of oysters. The chef would only substitute if I paid an additional $5.00 - the cost would be a total $37,00 for a lunch entree. I declined and had catfish and shrimp. My hubby’s shrimp & grits required a bit of work to remove the tails from shrimp. This is a messy tasks when rue is involved.
The dozen bourbon milkshake was a great shared dessert.
I wasn’t impressed at all. Waitress was kind but untrained. Food was so so especially the charbroiled oyster-very subpar, poor quality. Again, I was not very impressed except how expensive this place was.
Great food and impeccable service. Loved every dish that came out. Had two Old Fashioneds - the chicory one was watery, but the elder flower one was spot on. Really my only criticism - everything else was great.
Mandates have taken a toll on what used to be one of my favorite places.
Service extremely slow, food expensive and mediocre at best. Fried shrimp spices overpowering, more fries than anything else.
Subpar food, subpar service. It was not aware of all, but it was also not necessarily enjoyable.
Service and food were excellent! I would definitely go there on my next New Orleans visit.
I was disappointed that the BBQ shrimp was not on the menu as an appetizer or meal other than the BBQ shrimp PO boy which is what I went with. Somewhat disappointed as it was French bread hollowed out some with not so flavorful shrimp stuffed inside.
I was last here a few years ago and the BBQ shrimp was unbelievable.
Service was great, food was good too, really big list of bourbons, some are hard to find, so that made my husband happy!
Food was sub par, bourbon selection was nothing like they told me it was just two days prior on the phone.
limited menu because of the storm but enough choices to make the trip worth while
Everything was great!
The service was great, and the food was delicious. A little disappointed only in that we came specifically for the oysters and they were out. I hope we get to experience them before we leave!
Food is always delicious and fresh. Great drinks and service
Love their burgers. This time, they forgot to put on their “special sauce,” and we didn’t notice the difference until we’d finished our meals. Bummer. Next time, we’ll make sure that the burgers we order are the burgers we love!
Incredible service and food! Loved it!
Awesome food and freaky service. Would definitely come back.
The Temperature lunch was amazing--the chargrilled oysters incredible--and the pecan pie was one of the best I've ever had.
My husband and I visited the bourbon house for our 5th yr anniversary.
Fist time in New Orleans, and the experience was amazing, amazing food and drinks and nightly entertainment.
The shrimp and grits were amazing! Our server was very attentive!
Alway an amazing time
Glenda was amazing and the table singers was an added touch!
Everything was great, and the best Bourbon Milk Punch I’ve ever had! And I’ve had many …..
Was very much looking forward to the experience and was very underwhelmed. If it wasn’t for our server, April, this would less than one star. With the restaurant pretty empty, we were sat at a table right next to a large loud party…obnoxiously loud. Even April was frustrated with how loud they were. Trying to find a bourbon on the list that they actually had was a challenge. When i finally asked for one they had, it took well over a half hour to actually get it. Our meal order was very disjointed. One of the four meals was delivered 45 MINUTES in advance of the rest. Yes, we had to wait about an hour to get our meals. I was so frustrated with the experience, I didn’t want to stay any longer.
Food..excellent. Service..excellent. The whole experience was great, but food and service most important.
Bad service and too salty the food.
The ribs were to die for as well as the pineapple upside down bread pudding. The selection of bourbons is tremendous. Wish we were staying in New Orleans longer. Bourbon House is a must go to place when you visit New Orleans!!!
Always a great experience to eat at Bourbon House.
Restaurant not busy, plenty of tables and they put us right next to a loud person.. pointed to table and and asked if we could move there .. came back and said we couldn’t move there, but pointed to another place that was no better..few minutes later they seated someone at table I asked for… Blackened Gulf Fish and Oysters over cooked.. Ribeye was good but sweet potato wedges were overcooked and dry.. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive..
Unfortunately the service was horrible. We had reservations at 8:30pm for the coolinary dinner. The waitress failed to acknowledge us for quite some time and after telling her what we wanted came back 25 min later to double check because she hadn't put it in yet?! She then came back 5 min later to ask again because she still hadn't put it in. Why?? So we waited a approx 1 hour to even receive our food (it was not busy at all) but we were starving and it definitely ruined what otherwise would have been a great meal experience. The food itself was great!
Very nice place. Had the fancy vibe w/o actually being fancy. Food was awesome and service was excellent too!
The service was outstanding, and the food was very good - too much to finish.
This is our favorite spot to eat in NOLA. Oysters are amazing & the drinks are top notch! Took the kids for lunch and they were very accommodating.
Bret grilled oysters in town by far!
We were here to visit from Buffalo, NY. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We really enjoy the different cuisine New Orleans has to offer, but what was great about Bourbon House was that it had food for all with a New Orleans flair. No major extremes. It’s a great place when you’re traveling with picky eaters. The specialty drinks were delicious, blackened gulf fish, stuffed gulf fish, and coffee crusted rib eye were outstanding. Of course we topped off our dinner with the pineapple bread pudding and creme brûlée. Desserts were Devine. Our waiter was very sweet and excellent. Very kind staff. 5 stars from us!
