Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.
Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small batch whiskey.

While the food was very tasty, and the waitstaff were reasonably good, our main dishes arrived at the table before we had completed our starters. This is completely unacceptable at a restaurant of this (supposed) standard. This cost them the extra drinks we had planned to order (we bought a glass of wine each rather than a bottle), as well as possibly dessert.
Also, a large group was seated beside us. This wouldn't have been too bad if it wasn't for the loudmouth dropping the F bomb every few seconds. It shouldn't be the customer's responsibility to request patrons behave (which we did).
As the tables for the large group had already been reserved before we arrived, they could easily have seated us away from them. There were ample alternative tables.
Love it! Best charbroiled oysters ever. Also had delicious corn chowder and my friends had the drum and the redfish both were delicious.
The food was great and quick. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean and romantic.
Great food and great service.
This was the best restaurant I visited in NOLA. Surf and Turf was excellent. Staff was even better than the food. Except the crabcakes. The staff was not better than the crabcakes. I mean its not a fair comparison. Those were some good crabcakes.
This place was so great we ate there twice! Best steak I’ve ever had!!
Our experience at Bourbon House for breakfast was very mixed. The food was great and we were seated promptly, but apart from that the service was at a crawl and we rarely saw the server. Our drink order arrived well after the food and the bill was tough to get as well. A few of the other tables looked frustrated as well and one couple complained to the manager and left without their food or drinks. Unfortunately even though the food was good, the service really ruined the experience.
We had a nice dinner Saturday night with daughter and boyfriend. Reservation easy to get. We started off with some bourbon flights, a Sazerac, and house cocktail. I thought the Sazerac was a little too sweet. The two bourbon flights were fun. Wait staff was attentive. We had a main waiter and an assistant who was stationed right next to us. We started out with charbroiled oysters that were ok, not smothered with butter or cheese. We got a couple loaves of french bread as part of meal. It was very good. Three of four got the coolinary special for $39. Pretty good value including starter and desert. The half dozen charbroiled were the included starter. I got the seafood platter which was good and not too much for one person and uniquely flavored. The jambalaya had a quarter blackened chicken on top of it. Nice surprise. The barbeque shrimp was delicious, just the right amount of spice. Overall a very nice meal experience.
Overall, a great dining experience! The service was second to none. The restaurant was very busy but the service never lacked in any way. The bbq shrimp was over the top!
Drinks took forever. Food was cold. One member of my group’s food never came, we had to ask for it. The waitress was fabulous though and she gave us great service but outside of that everything else was mediocre ☹️
From the exquisite well kept decor to the friendly reservation staff to the articulate, knowledgeable friendly entertaining wait staff, this place has it.
If you aren't sure what you want in the way of fine dining, give this true gem in the heart of Bourbon Street a try.
Great experience! Great environment! Great food!
Loved it all around! It is a little bit of a dining experience... for someone that wants a quick in and out it may not be your thing. I was there for pleasure and enjoyed the amazing food and view of Boutbon St.!
Order the charbroiled oysters - it’s a must!
Amazing! I thought the half dozen charbroiled oysters were great....that was until I ordered the second half dozen with the lump crab meat on top. Incredible!!
Love Sampson he is wonderful. The food was great steak cooked perfectly. I just wish my wife’s birthday noted on the reservation was recognized.
Most bourbons out of stock. Food seemed bland. From new orleans and could tell this was a place to drink not eat. Drink alot and not worry what food taste ls like.
Very loud outside noise but it is Bouron Street. Their fried shrimp are horrible. So bad I thought they had fried them with the shell on. Must be not local shrimp unlike their barbeque shrimp which are good. Service was slow also. It wasnt busy. I had brought customers for lunch so we asked the waiter to give us 20 minutes after we ordered drinks and appetizers. He gave us 40 instead. Food was also slow to come out. I think he would have rather been anywhere else than there at work. Then he marked that I missed the reservation on Open Table.
This was the worst dining experience we have ever had in New Orleans. We first ordered a bottle of wine. Then we ordered an appetizer of crab fingers (claws) that came out luke warm. My wife ordered a spinach salad and only took a few bites before they came out with our food and shoved her salad out of the way. My wife's dish of redfish was too bad. I made the mistake of ordering the seafood sampler. The corn and crab chowder was actually pretty good. The drum could have been very good, but was burnt on the bottom. The shrimp on a skewer was over salted and way overcooked. They were dry tough and inedible. The stuffed crab was awful. The only relationship to crab seemed to be the shell they stuffed it into. It seemed to be more bread and grease. The waitress came back halfway through our meal and told us they didn't have the bottle of wine I ordered. I ordered another, but apparently she had never been trained on how to open wine with a cork. She broke the cork off and mangled the cork in the bottle. They took it into the back and finally came back after we were almost done with our meal and asked if we would like another bottle instead. We said to skip it and just give us our bill.
The most expensive mediocre meal you'll ever have.
Catfish was not a big portion for the money at all, but chicken jambalaya was a great value.
This was an excellent dining experience. The Charbroiled oysters are incredible and the crab claws are Devine. They also have the best burn on milk punch
The waitress didn’t give us enough time to finish our first course before bringing out the second course. The bread pudding was just ok. And I had one drink at $9.00 and was charged a $9.00 liquor tax???
Will never suggest to anyone, much less go back!
Can't wait to come back to new Orleans just to come to the bourbon house again. The oysters & crab claws were excellent, including our dessert was scrumptious. Wish we had a bourbon house in Texas, san antonio.
Outstanding BBQ Shrimp.
Great service. Large portions.
The service was quite poor, however the food was a little above average. It seems they were very unstaffed which probably played a role in the poor customer service.
Attentive service and good seafood.
Our waiter Mark, was terrific. Food was outstanding!
Tried to tell us that moldy blueberries weren't moldy. Been there multiple times prior with good experiences. Won't be going back. Poor management experience this time as well.
French Quarter pricing but lacks the quality. Totally not worth it.
Service was terrible. Also we spent some time moving around dodging the live mouse running from table to table
The food and atmosphere was excellent. The staff was very professional and accomodating. I highly recommend the Bourbon House.
We celebrated my husband's and a friend's birthday at this restaurant. The wait staff was professional, polite, and very friendly. I had notified them ahead of time of the birthdays and they brought out special desserts for our birthday guy and gal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone dining for a special occasion. They did a fabulous job of accommodating us.
This was our favorite meal in New Orleans. The food tasted fresh and light and was beautifully presented and seasoned. Our server (Blake?) was energetic and knowledgeable about the dishes, attentive without being over the top. The restaurant setting is beautifully decorated with great ambiance. An absolute gem of a place!
Always a favorite. Service is always stellar and they really pay attention to detail. Menu has great priced Louisiana seafood and steaks. I would recommend a stop while you are looking dinning in the Quarter.
food was great and came out quickly! Unfortunately we saw a mouse in the dining room twice during our dinner. For this reason, I am unable to give this restaurant 5 stars. This was very disturbing! We were a group of 5...the manager apologize stating that they try to do the best that they can to keep mice out, but it is difficult being that it is a very old building. He offered us 2 complimentary desserts.
5 little fried oysters on a skimpy salad. The oysters were cold. Fish with crayfish etouffee was marginal at best. Very little sauce on top a small piece of fish
Food, atmosphere and service were outstanding. Drinks were a bit pricey but we were in New Orleans.
The service was excellent, but my main course was a fish, which was over cooked. That really bums me out. I expected better. Other people in my party who ordered fish had the same complaint. This is not good when you at a restaurant specializing in seafood
The chargrilled oysters were good. And the first round of cocktails were also very good. However, there was a consensus at the table that the 2nd round was not as good. I don't know if there was a bartender change or what, but the ratios were clearly off because the drinks came out too sweet or too strong.
