Anniversary ..... our waiter was phenomenal
Word-of-mouth the best advertisement of course our daughter and son-in-law came here a few years ago and highly recommended it when we were able to come this year. If we ever come back we will definitely come to your restaurant again thank you for a wonderful evening!

First Class experience from one of the best restaurants in the city. Every item on the menu will be sure to please. Always consistently excellent. Also a great wine list.
One of the best restaurants in the US.
Every item on the menu is top notch. Had the Tomato Burata Cheese appetizer. Entree was the Wild King Salmon. Cooked the way I wanted because the server asks how you like it cooked. The server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and did not hover.
Had the bread pudding for dessert .
Expensive but what an experience! Well worth it.
I will come back.
Consistently excellent with a few nice surprises in a few of my dishes. The service was also memorable is a good way. Caring and concise without pretense. Always love coming here.
When we walked in it seemed more like a NY than SF restaurant (that's a good thing). Tables rather close together and a buzz of adult conversation. This was lunch, and we just had lobster bisque, softshell crab, and the fancy American wagyu hamburger. The soup was as good as any we have had; the softshell was up to Maryland standards ablbeit puny, and the hamburger was good. The drinks were fine but came 3-4 minutes after the soup. And with a tip something a bit over $60, but in this case it was worth it.
My wife’s birthday. We are from Southern California in town to babysit our grandchildren for two weeks while their parents are out of town. This was our third time dining at Boulevard. The service was exceptional, the wine wonderful, and the food remarkable, oh so good! Boulevard is our favorite place to dine in the city.
This was a culinary experience of well-executed dishes, appetizers and main courses. If anything at all, the deserts fell a little behind the excellence if the appetizer and the main.
The Tuna Tatare fruity and ginger notes we're a good idea lending to a nice flavor profile.
The beet salad was done well and balanced.
The Filet Mignon's temperature and the sear were perfect. I almost suspect Sous Vide with a good sear afterwards, because if the homogenous temperature. Accompanied by roasted potatoes and vegetable bed with just. Delicious!
Great food, great ambiance and great service.
Birthday for wife. Great service.great food, great room
As always, the food was great and the server knew the wine list. Boulevard is always a great dining experience.
It is a great place to have dinner. The service and the food are amazing.
Always excellent. I count on the quality when recommending to out of town friends.
My husband and I ate at the bar and the bartenders were TERRIFIC! Gave us the best service! The food was spectacular and it’s a lovely setting, too!
Have been to this restaurant many times. Food is incredible ,this is the first time service was very poor. Server did not come to our table for 17 minutes to offer us a drink. this gentleman had no personality what so ever.
I have been dining at Boulevard since it opened in 1993. Before that, Chef Oakes’ prior restaurant, L’Avenue, was a regular stop when visiting SF.
We no longer get to SF as often, but always make a reservation at Boulevard. I must admit, that at times I am concerned the menu will become tired or boring.
I’m here to affirm that I am no longer concerned. While the primary ingredients of the dishes and even the cooking methods are consistent, the preparation always seems fresh. On this occasion we shared the Scallop first course and ordered the Lamb T-bone and Berkshire Pork Prime Rib as mains. As many times as we have enjoyed these dishes, they were exceptional once again. Boulevard continues to be my benchmark for the most sublime comfort food on the West Coast.
As always, service was impeccable as well.
A favorite restaurant we hadn't been to in too long. Amazing consistency in quality and flavorful food. Staff are pleasant, well trained and know just when to check in with us. We went on a special occasion and won't wait so long again.
Fantastic food , great service . Only negative was a $40 corkage fee.
No brainer. C’mon, soup to nuts best dinner in SF
The location and ambiance is great. The food was good but not great and the waiter was very nice but sometimes less than attentive (I realize the place was packed tho). The restaurant has done better for me on previous visits.
Always 5 Star! Love this restaurant for All occasions!
Great every time
food was wonderful but too loud for us
everything was perfect except for the noise.
Horrid, tasteless and very pricey food with very very mediocre service from our waitress. Otherwise other employees were very nice. Even the other customers were friendly. But overall I would definitely not come back here. Unfortunately it was for our daughter’s 19th birthday. We informed them ahead of time to make it a little special if possible. We didn’t get a nice table, they didn’t give her a small special dessert, they barely greeted her and took out pictures when we requested. All they did was put a candle on one of the desserts we ordered. That’s it. So disappointing, expensive, and un-special.
Perfect as always: Service was wonderful, food was outstanding... place was a little loud for close conversation but we worked around it. Great wine list. Pricey, but absolutely well worth it.
Visited 5 or 6 times now and never ever been disappointed.
Always consistent with wonderful and exciting tastes that over the years keeps setting the apart from the rest!
Tremendous meal from start to finish.
Excellent service! Even better food!
Filet was perfect! As we’re the potatoes. Ambiance is special, with Bay view in one direction and classic bar and kitchen in another.
I came here with my girlfriend for her birthday and needless to say, the service was very welcoming and the food came on time. It made for a nice evening, and the food portions are not necessarily the biggest, but if you order through a normal course (starter, entrees, dessert) you'll definitely be full. I also had to change the date last minute, and they made that happen really easily!
Meh, there are so many great restaurants in SF you do not need to spend the ridiculous prices to enjoy a quality meal. I found the menu lacking in ingenuity and only far to taste. With bottles of wine @ $100 plus and a corkage fee of $45, it seems clear the game here is to appeal to tourist that will pay to feel they found some fine dining in SF, and for those who think spending lots on wine equals good wine...Nope folks not always. Once can do much better. I will not be back
Alway very good! A creative Menu with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Great assortment with about 1/2 dozen choices. We have been several times over the years and have always been pleased. Perfect noise level to hear your party speak without being able to hear others conversations.
We love Boulevard! Whenever we come to the city we try to dine here. My husband had the filet mignon and he said it was the best he’s ever eaten. We dine out a lot and all over the world on our travels so this is a high compliment!
I thoroughly enjoyed my halibut entree as well. The starters are innovative and yummy! He had the ahi tuna tartar and I had the scrumptious pear salad. The tiramisu dessert was mouth watering!
Needless to say we will definitely return...many more times!
Returned to a restaurant that is still incredibly good in San Francisco. Enjoyed it immensely and brought one of our friends who is new to Boulevard. Still recommend it and it was four years since we were there.
Great California cuisine. One of my favorite spots for a nice high-end meal in San Francisco.
I would definitely refer Boulevard to a friend, and in fact, have already done so. The restaurant is very attractively decorated in an authentic French style. The waiter was very good, polite and never hovering but there when needed. Also, he offered us tastes of wine before we selected so we were very happy with our choices. I felt the salmon was a little undercooked and too heavily flavored with butter, but still very enjoyable. My friend was very happy with her choice of the sea scallops dish. I wish I had ordered dessert, but there was no room. The staff also was able to check our luggage so we were happy to have that service after disembarking from the ferry on our way to the hotel.
Outstanding meal. Friend who is owns a wonderful restaurant in London loved the meal!
Love everything about this restaurant! Will definitely recommend to anyone.
Everyone’s dinner was wonderful and our server particularly attentive and understanding. We were entertaining relatives we hadn’t seen in a while and had time to visit without being interrupted yet not ignored.
Food was amazing. But beyond that.... was our server. She was so knowledable and helpful. That made our night
