I have had countless meals at Boulevard. However, this time the service was marginal, at best. The waiter acted like he was doing us a favor to wait on us. Hope this isn’t the new trend at Boulevard!

One of the most enjoyable dinning experiences, start to finish, that I have. A sampling of the cheese options with a glass of 1985 Warres Port was the perfect ending.

We always enjoy dining at Boulevard. Great martinis. . .beet salad = superb. . .scallops = terrific. Maybe knock off the Lamb Chops Milanese and return to unbreaded ones. The seasonal menus are always well-crafted, and it is comforting to see some standards throughout the year; e.g., the burger. One of these days, I'll order the burger or the bavette.

A word about the staff: we are always impressed at how professional and knowledgeable everyone is. It isn't surprising, merely impressive. We've never encountered "attitude" at Boulevard, and kudos to whomever ensures that nonsense like that doesn't appear.

Boulevard is one of our favorite restaurants in The City, and we will return whenever time allows. Great value and a really, really nice way to spend a Friday afternoon.

You know that Chorus Line song, "Dance 10, Looks 3?" That was my Boulevard experience - service 10, food 3.

Both at the bar and at my table, the service was at the level one rarely encounters. Knowledgeable, professional, swift, etc. The food was a huge disappointment. I ordered two things: an app, a special that evening, of white truffles shaved over layers of fondue and risotto, and a roasted halibut. The truffle thing was partly my own fault. I'm not crazy about risotto, and the waiter had explained to me that item was designed to showcase the white truffles against a fairly neutral background. But I wanted the truffles, which were indeed amazing - I could've spent the rest of the evening just breathing them in. I understand what the kitchen was going for, but I think the dish would've been more interesting and enjoyable with a little more going on. As it was, only the truffles were really worth eating. The rest of it was just a lot of blandness. And then the halibut was disastrous. It was very undercooked - and I don't like fish cooked very much, but this was way too raw most of the way through. The accompaniments on the plate weren't particularly good, either; fingerling potatoes so hard I could hardly cut through them, lobster mushrooms that weren't enhanced in any way by the turmeric butter, spinach and sea greens with no particular flavor.

One more complaint: my God, this place is loud. Unpleasantly so. It's so my vibe in it's Belle Epoque coziness, but the noise level approaches miserable.

Back to the excellent service, and a waiter who handled my disappointment with the halibut beautifully.

At least it's not especially expensive, as Michelin-starred restaurants go. I wouldn't go back, and I wouldn't recommend it.

First night in town and head for Boulevard, but always book. Even on a Tuesday evening, the place was heaving. The service is exceptionally good and its great just to watch all the activity.
The menu was more limited than I recall from previous visits but still just about acceptable. However for the first time, my starter was pretty dreadful. Greasy fried fish stuffed with crab - it could have been so good but it was still very oily. The main was up to the usual high standard. I will return but will not be having anything fried!!

The chef is generous and fabulously creative: popped sorghum... who knew? Cabbage and hibiscus powder— just one of the intriguing flavors and colors in the delicious beet salad. Ravioli with fresh ricotta and truffle that made us stop the conversation and look to the heavens. Every dish is layered with flavors and textures that supply contrast and complexity to each tasty bite. The staff is perfect, both professional and warm hearted; the service couldn’t be better. Thank you Boulevard for an evening to remember.

I've been in SF for 20 years and this was my first visit to Boulevard (finally!). They did not disappoint. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful beet and goat cheese salad followed by fish dishes. A memorable evening.

We have eaten here many times. It's always a wonderful experience. Both the food and service. The service has always made it for a very enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, we cannot say that this time. The server we had should not be working at a restaurant that is known for such impeccable service. He was moody, unattentive and just rude. Maybe we jinxed it as we sat down and our son said "the service here is always so good". Of course we will go back since this was the first bad experience we've had at Boulevards. We did inform the hostess upon leaving and she said she would let management know. We only hope this was an aberration.

We were here to celebrate my birthday. Food, atmosphere and service were great. One gripe: When I made the reservation, I mentioned it was a birthday celebration and requested a special table. The hostess showed us to a small table, in a walkway, across from the noisy kitchen. Then, when I asked for a different table, she took us to a wonderful window table, tucked away, perfect! Do restaurants actually read any of the special requests of customers beforehand? A restaurant of this caliber should. Despite this glitch, I loved the restaurant and will return again.

Food was expensive and delivered to table cold. When we complained they took it back and heated it all up together so potatoes were warm and fish way overdone. Ordered expensive wine and they brought a worse year. Fortunately they exchanged with no trouble. I have been before and food was really good. Not anymore even with it being cold. Very mediocre.

Had dinner here our last night in the City. Very accommodating on a short notice reservation yet packed on a Tuesday evening. Was a great way to end our trip. Great food, wine, service views and easy to get to location. Would definitely go back!

Very expensive! We paid less at Gavroche in London for a meal that was infinitely superior in every way.
Boulevard thinks it’s better than it is. It was packed - 180 covers. You can’t hear your partner. You feel rushed. Wine is beyond expensive! Our starters were nice. But both our main courses were cold. My lamb had a large amount of fat left on - I don’t expect that from a fine dining restaurant. Puddings were nice but the 350 dollar bill left a bad taste!
