Boulevard Ratings and Reviews
We dined on November 12 reservations at 8:00pm. My Petrale was dry and overcooked.
But the rest of the meal was delightful, artistically appointed and delicious. The service was impeccable! The "waite person" very personable, friendly and attentive in just the right way.
thank you for being a SF Iconic establishment.
I am a local resident.....
I usually just say great. We've been going to Boulevard regularly for over a quarter century and have always found it to be consistently "very good" over a many year period. We valued that reliability.
Unfortunately we've found the food disappointing the last few times we've gone. A case in point, three of the four of us had the special what truffle starter and we're astonished to receive it pre-prepared and oily throughout. We've had seasonal white truffle specials at numerous restaurants in the Bay Area for decades and have never not had the truffles grated directly on the dish at the table. Our recollection is a few of those previous experiences were at Boulevard. I'm also sad to say some of there mains (fish mostly) weren't up to Boulevard standards.
In fairness our two latest meals were during high volume dinner times but I don't think that's a valid excuse. Tendered in sadness not anger.
Boulevard makes special occasions even more special. Food is consistently great. I cannot resist ordering the pork chop - bribed so it’s always moist (the side change seasonally). Desserts are delicious, beautiful and imaginative). Restaurant itself is gorgeous.
Not the Boulevard of old. I miss the awesome desert menu! The menu seems MUCH smaller and conservative compared to previous years. Service was good, the food was 'ok'.
For the price I'm expecting better, even after coming here for years. I'll have to find a new place to celebrate.
Absolutely great food. This place has gotten a Michelin star for several years, so good for foodies. Good size portions, so you won't leave hungry, but great variety in tastes and ingredients within each dinner. Top notch service. Almost $400 for 4 people, with 3 glasses of wine and dessert.
I don't think in 15+ visits to Boulevard, have I ever had a bad meal. It can be pricey, but truly you get what you pay for. A big time tip of the hat to Pat and Nancy for a fine San Francisco iconic restaurant. Doesn't matter if it is lunch or dinner, you are guaranteed a great meal.
Took a special someone for a Birthday dinner and were treated with a card signed by the staff ,a complimentary course which was outstanding and a beautiful dessert, not to mention an outstanding dinner and service! The gold star in restaurants even after all these years!
Boulevard is an experience. The place is warm and inviting with a French ambiance. The service is impeccable. The food is very good. When I've been there for dinner (this was lunch) the food was fabulous.
I highly recommend it. Though it is expensive it is worth it.
It was way too expensive for mediocre food and mediocre service. The total bill was $360 for three side salads, three entrees, two glasses of wine and two cocktails. The waiter seemed like he hated his job. The overall space was very noisy and my chair was so close to the person behind me, I would run into them every time I moved backwards. All in all, it was not a very pleasant experience.
Enjoyed for a special-occasion dinner with friends. Comfortable, relaxed, and our table in the back area had a nice view of the Bay Bridge light show. Food was of the rich and complicated variety, and was generally delicious. Expensive.
No trouble finding street parking on a Tuesday night.
The ravioli appetizer was outstanding, the ahi was really good, the pork chop was nice but the filet was disjointed. The potatoes seemed out of place with the rest of the dish, the mushrooms and the peppers in the BBQ \ steak sauce didn’t flow with the filet in such jus and chard. The crime brûlée and Apple upside down cake desserts were good. I have not been to Boulevard in years and probably won’t be back anytime soon. I was very disappointed after all of the fabulous meals I have had there in the past.
My BFF Ashley and I just love this place. The food is awesome and the portions are generous. The servers are all very attentive and professional and the decor is great. It is awesome when someone puts te time and money into restoring a building over 100 years old. It just feels good being there!
