I've experienced a few John Besh restaurants and the food was spectacular as always. My personal preference is quality over quantity. The portions were right sized and not too large. The price reflects the quality of the food rather than the size of the plate. We had the duck poppers, shrimp toast, chopped creole salad and the roasted cauliflower soup.

You don't get what you pay for... very overpriced... one piece of average fish with no sides for $30. Pictures make it look like a "neighborhood gem" but it is actually in the Hyatt hotel.

Amazing seafood. I started with the duck jalapeno bites. It was an elegant twist on a traditional hunting camp favorite. Savory and juicy. Outstanding. I then had the whole stuffed flounder. It was delightfully flaky and cooked to perfection. If you order it... be sure you know how to flake a full-boned fish or you'll be picking little bones out all meal. My wife had the blackened drum w/ pecans and said it was the best fish she'd ever had. For a cocktail I had an old fashioned which was done very well by the bartender. Service was impeccable.

We had Thanksgiving dinner. Even it’s a pre-fix kind of dinner but each dish was same as regular menu. We were really satisfied. Fried oysters were awesome.

Very dissapointing Thanksgiving Prix fixe. Definitely not work the spend. Tasteless oily oysters, mediocre gumbo and mains. Overall uninspired dishes that never let their stars shine. The key lime dessert was the only saving grace, along with competent (but not exceptional) wait staff.

The ambiance is cool but casual. I made a reservation through open table and we were seated almost immediately. The fried green tomato appetizer is one of the best things I ate in NOLA. The seafood stuffed flounder was also fantastic. The black drum was not our favorite. It ate sweet. The desserts were not great. The service was exceptional, attentive without being intrusive. We were celebrating my birthday. The hubby called ahead to ask them to recognize the occasion and they said they would but did not. He was a little annoyed with that. I would go back but skip dessert.

$58 Thanksgiving Dinner: The plate seemed like it had been sitting out for a while, had a little greasy crust over everything. I think the white meat turkey was turkey roll, the dark mean was pulled, very salty. The stuffing and cranberry sauce were not disagreeable, but nothing special. Altogether, not worth it. Not recommended for Thanksgiving.

Most outstanding was our waitress. Location is a little out of the way and the prices are moderate but overall a neat experience. We had the Thanksgiving brunch. Enjoyable. But, again, our waitress made it a very enjoyable dining experience.

Each dish was amazing. The appetizers, especially the mushrooms, were delicious. The “fish in a bag” was perfectly cooked and seasoned with perfectly cooked vegetables. Delightful. I️ ordered three desserts for the 8 of us and they were each perfect. The key lime pie was some of the best ever. And the peanut butter was perfect for sharing.
Our service and wait staff were excellent. The entire evening, including atmosphere and especially the spacious seating, was great after a busy day.
Definitely going back before we leave New Orleans!

The food was good, but only that. I will say that the Spanish meat pies we had as an appetizer were very good. The elephant in the room was the noise. You could not carry on a conversation without shouting.

I usually don't eat at the restaurant in the hotel, but I was too tired to go out. I am glad I tried it. Good food and service. The bartender made my special martini perfectly. Oysters were super fresh. Gumbo was excellent.

We ate at Borgne relatively early on a Friday evening. The restaurant was about half-full. It was moderately loud; had it been full I think it would have been very loud. The food was very good but a bit overpriced in my view, especially the seafood appetizers - portions were small but expensive. The entrees were delicious all-around; we especially liked the fish (sheepshead) in a bag. One of our party had gluten sensitivity issues and they accommodated that easily with modifications that were every bit as yummy. Would definitely go again.

My husband and I were staying at the Hyatt and Borgne had been recommended to us as a good restaurant. Our servers were great. But when we got our appetizer of shrimp and raw oysters, our shrimp was inedible. The servers were great and offered us some options but we decided to cancel the shrimp order. My angel hair pasta with crab was delicious! My husband's fried seafood platter was only so-so. The coating was bland and not very tasty. We did get a complimentary dessert which we enjoyed very much. I was a bit disappointed after hearing such a good review of this restaurant.

Overall, it was a great experience. Walked in, shortly after 7 pm. There were only a few tables seated at the time. We were greeted promptly by the staff, who were extremely attentive the entire evening. With the restaurant being a little slower at the time, the food arrived promptly, hot from the kitchen. We didn’t have a bad bite, from the “duck poppers”, gumbo and cauliflower soups, to the special of the day, sheepshead. It’s with the trip! Oh yeah, cocktails weren’t bad either.

We are staying in the Hyatt Regency and didn’t want to venture far. Borgne had good reviews so we decided to eat there. The food was good, very rich and flavorful. The service was good also. We didn’t feel that it was too pricey, considering it’s located in a hotel.

Food was excellent. More casual than expected. You’ll leave reassured of your dining selection. Great place to eat before the game or show at the Superdome or Smoothie King Center. Try the tapas or anything with shrimp. They get the basics perfect. As I surveyed the other diners, everything looked delicious and unique. No one standout dish here. It’s all good.

The only negative for me was the ambiance. It didn’t seem to represent the food appropriately. Tables, seating, and flooring were boring.

We showed up for our reservation and were told by the hostess that because there was a concert last night we needed to eat fast as there were other people that needed to come in. We thought that was odd. Our waiter on the other hand laughed that off and was more then gracious. We had a good meal and left a hefty tip. I later received an email from Open Table saying we skipped out on our reservation which was not true. I can tell you where we sat, what we are and in fact at 6 we attended the party in the private room.

Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Spicy Bloody Mary, delicious.
Both Raw & fire roasted oysters were fabulous. Duck & Anduille gumbo, outstanding. Fried oysters were not quite as crispy as I prefer but still good with the romulaude sauce.
