Ran in for a bite before a Pelicans game. No wait was a plus. Service at table was good. Wait time for food was a little long. Would go again as a convenience but would not make a special trip just to go.
Excellent meal, but a little pricier than some of the meals we had in the French Quarter or near it. Very good service also.

We were told upfront they needed our table in 45 minutes. No problem. Except it took 20 minutes to have our drink order taken, another 20 minutes to receive it. When the server took our drink order, she stood at our table with her back to me and asked my boyfriend what he would like to drink. My boyfriend said 'well, I believe she would like to order a drink first'. I understand she was trying to work her tip- just like when she kept touching my boyfriend's arm- but this ain't Red Lobster "honey". I posted my onion allergy in reservation notes, & told server. I also told her that oftentimes, even after precautions are taken for no onions, the food runner will throw a handful of chives on for garnish. Server assured us this wouldn't happen. It happened. Server said she was busy & didn't think she needed to enter food allergy in for appetizer (duck poppers, which were very good when we received the remake without chives- after we had been there an hour). Server made snide remarks about it 'not happening' for us to get dinner in 45 minutes- we told her that was fine with us- we aren't the ones that requested to be rushed. Admittedly there was a mix up with the reservation time- still didn't justify the snideness. The Chef did go out of his way and prepared a meal accommodating my allergy, but he would fare well at a restaurant with a serving staff that equals his talents.

Server was very nice. She recommend the spinach dip and it was delicious. The braised Turkey Necks glazed in pepper jelly, is a first for this CA couple, and we were excited to try something different. We were not disappointed. Reminded us of braised short ribs. The Gumbo was the tastiest I have had in town but it's still early in our NOLA experience. Hostess not friendly but don't let her be a deterrent. I would recommend the 3 dishes we ordered.
Our theater group loves to eat here! The food is excellent! We love several of the appetizers that we can all share. The catfish sliders is one of our favorites. We also enjoy the salad and the debris potato appetizer. There’s always something new and tasty on the menu. The wait staff is exceptional! They are very accommodating and give quick service. I met the manager this past time and he was very friendly and hospitable. It’s always been a fun experience for us!
Never going back. Overpriced. Bad. The only reason I am giving this two stars instead of one is because the broiled oysters were delicious and the drinks were good. $30 for shrimp and linguine in butter and cheese sauce that I could have made at home better. The shrimp was not flavored and was over-cooked. The fish amadine was just plane horrible. The fish had no flavor and the green beans underneath looked and tasted like they came out of a can. That is absolutely unacceptable. I sent it back and ordered a caesar salad with grilled shrimp thinking, you can't mess that up. Well, they did. It took over 15 minutes to get it to me, meanwhile my dining mate had already finished his pasta (begrudgingly). When the salad came out, the dressing was on the side and the croutons were stale. The shrimp, again, had no flavor.
wish they would bring back a number of things that had been regulars on the old menu, like octopus and salad with pear and fish cooked en papillotte

Service was exceptionally slow. It was busy but I'd think that they should be used to that as a premier conference location. I missed attending part of the conference because I was still stuck at lunch.

We went for lunch on Sunday--it was very quiet, which was fine. I had heard this was an excellent place for seafood. The restaurant is set up in one large space with cafeteria-style tables and a very long bar along one side; it's not especially warm or "special." White plastic table tops. It had a kind of slightly upscale sports bar feel--if that's what you're after, this would be perfect. Our waiter was wonderful. The food was meh--had grilled oysters (good), "crispy cauliflower" (nope--just cooked cauliflower with a sauce and potato chip crumbs poured on top-??), mac and cheese (good, kind of lemony), and shrimp toast (husband enjoyed, I did not--too much sweet chili sauce and no texture). So it wasn't somewhere that I would go again. It is in the Hyatt, so perhaps it's asking too much for a restaurant that caters to a lot of tourists to be better, and I don't mean to slam them--it was okay. Just not somewhere I want to go another time.
We really enjoyed our appetisers, which were the duck poppers, chicken & sausage gumbo, and broiled oysters. It was conveniently located near the Smoothie King Arena, where we had a concert. It was an overall good experience.

The drum was way too salty and the green beans were swimming in butter. I thought I was ordering a healthy dinner, but it sure wasn’t that. What can you order in your restaurant that is healthy?
We went there for my birthday before the National Championship game on January 13. They seated us early and the service was excellent the food was great and we had a wonderful time!
It was absolutely amazing!!! The good, the service!! Best fried green tomatoes I have ever eaten all the way down to the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Perfect evening for a perfect weekend!!! Geaux LSU❤️
The only problem I have is not with the restaurant, it was great but it was at the Hyatt in New Orleans. I thought we were going to a stand alone restaurant not a hotel restaurant. This is the second time I've made reservations with Open Table and ended up at a hotel. If I wanted to eat in a hotel restaurant, I eat where I was staying. So be advised.
Food was great, but the service was not so good. Not sure if this was a staffing issue or people ready to get out of there. I would recommend a friend because of the food, but the service needs a little upgrading.
We had post Saints game meal here. Service and food were fantastic. It was noisy, however, I'm not sure if was extenuating circumstance. We didn't mind the vibe and could still converse.
It was a cool, rainy day, so we decided to lunch nearby. The Borgne at 601 Loyola was in easy walking distance and was a place we had never been to. Tables were widely dispersed and comfortable. Really enjoyed the decor accented by large columns filled with oyster shells. Ordered aperitifs of a French 75 and Sazerac. Good start! I ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell and Janice got a half dozen Broiled Oysters. A bowl of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo was my entree, and Janice tried the Chowder. Both were very good and really hit the spot on a gray sort of day. This was a satisfying new option for us. Thanks go out to Brad for making us feel welcome and seeing to it we enjoyed ourselves.
Borgne was pretty good, with a fair price and convenient to the SuperDome. I wasn't over-the-moon in love with the food, but it was still good. The drink offerings are creative and priced well. Same for the food. It was a crowded game day, so the staff was a little overwhelmed, but service was not slow. I enjoyed my meal.
New Years Eve. No special menu. One special entree which was a pork chop. $35 ribeye that was maybe 1/2 an inch thick, overcooked. Service was great, food was no good and overpriced.

Borgne is not as good as it once was. We were there at 7:00 on a Saturday and the place was not even a quarter full. The menu has changed and it is not for the better. It has become a regular over priced hotel restaurant.
It would be fine for lunch. We went for Christmas dinner. It had novibe. The decor did not match the quality I expected when I looked at the photographs of the restaurant and food. Fine for lunch, but not for dinner.
My family and I believe Borgne is the best place in New Orleans for Christmas dinner. This is our fourth consecutive year to celebrate with Borgne.

We had not been to Borgne is a long time. We decided to give it another shot. We did not realize there was a special event. Service was terrible. And the restaurant was packed so some service issues are understandable. But we went 45-55 minutes with no food. ( Not even a piece of cornbread)
We ordered 2 appetizers and one entree. We ordered the fish entree. And it was DEFINITELY not worth the price. To pay $34 for a small piece of fish with nothing with it is INSANE. It was so bland and had no flavor. I will NOT be back. Not only was the service terrible but the food wasnt any better.
The crab cakes were delicious as was the crispy cauliflower.
