    Was disappointed by the very hotel atmosphere. The food was fine, but there was nothing special about this place.

    If this were our first visit to Borgne, I’d have rated it as Very Good. The food was good, but not great. And the service was excellent. The prices were a bit high, but not excessively so. But this was not our first visit. And several dishes were not up to past standards. Of course, there’s no way to change the raw oysters themselves. But the cocktail sauce that accompanied them was not as spicy as in the past. And there was no horse radish to add (though in hind sight, we should have asked; it might have been available). The stuffing for our flounders seemed to be primarily panko bread crumbs with very few shrimp and little crabmeat. In the past, it was a rich, creamy stuffing with ample shrimp and crabmeat. The flounder itself was still quite good. The hazelnut pudding dessert was also not up to past standards. On our last visit, the condensed milk ice cream in the dessert had been replaced with regular vanilla ice cream. This time, not only was it regular vanilla ice cream, but the pudding had very little hazelnut flavor and there were far fewer chunks of chocolate than in the past. We mentioned our disappointment with the flounder to our waitress. She indicated she’d let the new chef know. And she provided us with a complimentary key lime dessert. The original premise of the restaurant was to serve traditional New Orleans fishing camp food. Our sense is that the menu has been toned down to appeal to the taste of out of town visitors staying in the hotel. Locals are likely to be disappointed. I can only assume that they’re listening to the majority of their customers. Though I would have thought they’d have a good number of locals eating there before or after events at the Superdome and Arena. For us, the things that made Borgne a special destination in its own right have disappeared. We’ll give it one more try, but only when we’re in the neighborhood and it’s convenient.

    The food was very commercial. Two out of four had the stuffed whole flounder. First the server should let it be known that it is served bone in and second it was stuffed with a heavy stuffing that didn’t have any seafood in it.

    My husband and I were attending the Luke Bryan concert and we were looking for a restaurant within walking distance. Many had recommended Borgne. I was excited and I really wanted to love it! The food was a huge disappointment. We ordered many things on the menu; no flavor. However, the roasted cauliflower soup was to do die for! The ambiance was great and I loved that they were playing country music in the background; def got me hyped to see Luke Bryan.

    It was ok. The problem is nothing stood out and with all of the excellent food in the area it is hard to recommend this spot. If I was staying at the hotel and in a hurry to grab and go, it would be fine but if I had the time to venture out, I probably would do so. The service was nice but a bit slow.

    We started off with the raw Louisiana oysters and they were nice and salty. My husband had the house salad and could not get over how fresh and light the salad was. He said the pears were delicious. I had the fried catfish sliders for my main meal and they were great. The fish was fried perfectly and the chow chow was awesome. My husband had the Friday special of catfish with a red gravy and rice and he said it was very good as well. Will definitely be dining her again.
