Lovely team but there were only 3 other couples there for the whole of the Friday service which made the restaurant feel dead and too quiet. Despite high quality food, it was probably overpriced at £80 for a 5 course tasting menu excluding drinks.

Menu was imaginative and the food was superbly prepared. We would look to use the restaurant again, especially when there was an auction later in the day. The wine list was also interesting with some unusual wines available by the glass.

Outstanding food, great wine and lovely service. The crab consommé was outstanding and red mullet bouillabaisse had an incredible depth of flavour. Hugely recommended.

I am afraid the atmosphere and dining environment spoilt the evening for us, despite the very high quality of the service and the food. The music system wasn't working so usually there would have been background music (which might have helped a little). The room was sparse, clinical almost, tables very close together. We could hear every word from our neighbours which dominated our conversation. The toilet and the brightly lit wide corridor down to it was almost industrial. Apparently this place is bolted on to the Auctioneer House and really is functional with no softness whatsoever. The toilet had none of the things you would expect in a Michelin starred restaurant such as tissues, handcream etc. There was security guard in the corridor standing there which felt a little awkward. We paid £330 for the two of including delicious well selected paired wines. At this price, I feel more attention needs to be urgently paid towards the diner's experience and it could be rectified. The food is spot on so they just need to make some tweaks.

My first v/isit to Bonhams Restaurant was an excellent occasion - very good food perfectly cooked and an outstanding wine list. The two amuses actually did encourage the appetite. The sashimi of langoustine did not look enticing under its rather grey seafood jelly but the taste was sensational. Major Cornish turbot precisely slow-cooked with lovely potatoes, followed by a delicious Bonhams chocolate slab with passionfruit ice cream. A fabulous Meursault and a great Tokaj. Superb coffee. Very attentive service. A triumph!

Had a wonderful evening catching up with a friend at Bonhams. Well deserved michelin star. No menu choice (can cater for veggies) but even though I don't love lamb and that was the main, all the food was perfectly cooked and you couldn't really not enjoy it. All the staff were lovely and friendly, providing attentive but not over-exaggerated service. The wine list is fantastic - for wine buffs there is an array of expensive vintages, but if you are more there for the food, or just want a nice bottle then there are plenty under the £50 mark, which is often a rarity in a michelin restaurant. highlight - it's not the most complicated but the bread and butter was the best I've had. So often restaurants chill the butter so it's too hard, the bread is unremarkable. But at Bonhams, it was perfect - demonstrating the attention to detail and care that carries through all their food.

Very good indeed. Very fairly priced wine list by London standards, never mind Mayfair; the high-quality Riesling I was drinking was scarcely over 2x markup. All 4 courses that I consumed were of very high quality; the gazpacho with eel and mustard ice-cream was superlative, an adjective I don't ever recall ascribing to a soup! Service was slick, with one minor fault regarding silverware, which was resolved quickly upon enquiry. Even coffee was very high quality, made with beans from a third-wave London roaster, and far superior to the Musetti and Illy used even by expensive Michelin star possessing competitors. I'd recommend the experience to anyone: the £94 per head bill, inflated by extra wine, coffee and an additional starter, was very fairly priced for the calibre of the cuisine.
