The Maddox Street restaurant pays homage to the culture and people, whose expanse of origins from across India have influenced its culinary history.

The menu sees recreations of some of the city’s most loved dishes alongside family recipes. Avoid Bombay Bustle. The prices are absurd, even by London standards. We paid $170 USD for what amounted to five tiny chicken cubes (1 inch x 1 inch cubes) floating in a bland tikka sauce, a side of undercooked jasmine rice, two small samosas, two miniature dosas, and two forgettable cocktails. I’m really having a hard time understanding how to justify the cost. The chicken tikka was lukewarm and bland, the rice oddly firm, and the drinks were run-of-the-mill. The samosas were fine. The mini dosas, passable. That’s as generous as I can be. We left still hungry and thoroughly unimpressed. I wish we read the other reviews before waisting our time or money here. Many have similar complaints to ours. To be clear, we don’t mind spending on great meals and have been fortunate to enjoy amazing meals around the world, this just wasn’t one.

Nice food…. Expensive wine…. Zero atmosphere. It’s a machine without any real spirit. Waiters are bored and not really bothered about customer’s I would go to dishoom anyday….. I won’t return…. No reason to spend so much for such a boring souless time….

So so good! All was really tasty. The spinach side honestly the best prep of spinach EVER. Great service and great timing with arrival of food. Loved it all!

I booked the table for a special occasion after seeing the restaurant on social media. It was nice but I was bit underwhelmed with the food. For instance the roomali roti was in parts hard like papad. I had never had a hardened roti before so I couldn’t finish it. Also the cover charge in the bill was a surprise factor, I’ve never had that applied in other restaurants in London thus far. This cover charge is automatically applied in addition to service charge. Overall it was ok but bit underwhelmed. There was in my opinion no effort from the staff to make the meal / have an extra touch to the dessert although we informed it was a special occasion.
