    Booked the pre-theatre menu but when we arrived and sat down at the table, they refused to allow us to order from it. Too awkward to leave, so we ended up ordering from the a la carte menu. Disappointing experience.

    Absolutely fabulous lunch experience pre RHS Chelsea Show! Food was delicious, lovely wine and even better champagne! Not been here before but will definitely be back especially when the LIVE jazz is on. Thank you guys’

    Boisdale rose to its usually excellent levels of service. We arrived early for our table. The receptionists took our coats and offered us the option of waiting in the main or Negroni Bar. We chose the cosy Negroni bar and sampled delicious Negronis from the menu. On the way to the bar we were shown our table so we could find out way to it when we were ready. Our host explained that, whilst the Negroni Bar is happy to serve Negronis from its menu, any classic (or bespoke) cocktail can be ordered there. When we were ready we wandered to our table to be served Boisdale's customary splendid meals. Unfortunately, the food was so good and the portions so generous I can't report back on the desserts.

    Good experience overall, we enjoyed a nice steak and glass of wine with good service. The addition of a surprise £30 per head music fee to our bill for a few minutes of music that played at the end of our meal wasn't exactly welcome but we know for next time.

    I was hoping we'd get a table in the main restaurant which is lively and elegant but instead we were taken through some dingy corridors and up/down some steps to a back restaurant where we were sat at a table tucked away at the back. Not great especially as it was Christmas and was hoping for a wow experience. Thankfully the service and food was wonderful so we forgive the not-so-great table and back restaurant location. Our servers were super friendly and helpful and the food was first class especially the haggis main course which was outstanding. We would go again but would have to absolutely make sure to be sat in the main restaurant at the front. We have been to the Canary Wharf restaurant which was perfect in every way possible.

    I booked via open table and had the confirmation ti confirm yet the restaurant failed to humour the booking, which is against the law, so wasn’t given the offer I booked for. Regardless that aside.. 1. Bread was not warm 2. Main courses came when still having starters. Asked if ready said no and still served. 3. Steaks well done not medium rare. Noted would re do but not 3 sides, or keep these warm, so these would get cold so had overdone steak, which was also cold after finishing starters, 4. Sides - brocolli was 3 pieces and neeps and carrots all 1.5 tablespoons of mash - very very small portions 4. Service not great and manager came out and didn’t even look at my phone or booking and said no, which is not in line with regulations, as if booked offer has to honour. I noted booked didn’t care. Also I said perhaps contact open table again he didn’t care so happy to breach rules and regulations (re if offer a price and agree booking at the price it’s binding).
